What are your thoughts about Justin Fields? Is he the real deal, or is he another Ohio State QB? DVOA has him 30th with -29.3%, QBR has him dead last (31st) with 25.2. His QB Rating is 73.2. Those all are historically low and rarely do QBs improve significantly in any of these metrics. They do improve, but even with normal improvement, he would only get to fringe starter, which is somewhat alarming. So is he capable of improving his DVOA from -29.3% to something like +10%? This move seems to have backfired on Poles. A waste of a 4th round pick and roster spot. Allen has been a liability and for some reason Caleb has targeted him a ton. He has 30 receptions on 56 targets with several drops. Kmet has 32 receptions on 37 targets. So 2 more receptions with 19 fewer targets. Allen also missed 2 games, so those numbers would be even higher if he didn't. It almost feels like Caleb feels obligated to throw the ball to Allen even though there are much more efficient options. Allen should be the 4th option, not the 1st or 2nd one.

Miami traded #3 to SF for #12, 2021 3rd, and SF's First Rounders in 2022 and 2023. We keep having vets become available. I think Decker is on the downhill slide. His injury last year is not fully recovered. I think we have thrown enough darts at the board in Cruz, Wheaton and Wright. Cruz is the only one 30 or older, so lets see how it plays out. Decker is still dealing with healing where as Cruz is one year removed from his injury. We have White and Meridith they are young and with upside so if we continue to bring in retreads it will lose snaps for the guys we need to keep moving forward. So for Decker, no.

It doesn't look like the Texans are going to be able to franchise him, so the possibility of him leaving becomes significantly greater. Obviously the Bears have some of their own issues, as far as long term contracts are concerned, and I'm not sure what there money situation looks like for next season, but that would be quite a splash to sign this guy.

Being that i reside in England and only concentrate on watching bears games,i managed to see all the regular season games via satellite or streaming but see very few other games so can anybody give their opinions on jason brown baltimore guard.On NFL site says would have to compensate a 2nd round pick would that be to much?

The Trib says several times the cuts were part of a youth movement, or trying to get younger. As all the guys released were 30 or over, I guess it is not wrong to say as much. But was that really the reason? I personally think age had very little to do w/ yesterday's cuts. If Miller's 2008 base was the vet minimum instead of $4m+, would he have been cut? I think that if he was due to make the minimum, the team would have talked about how he was injured last year, and give him another season. I started to talk about this in another thread, but felt it might be an interesting topic to start new. We have something like $30m in cap space. I think we can all agree we are not going to spend $80m in cash, or whatever, to sign 4 or 5 big names, including our own. So the question is, how will we use up all that space. Signing a bunch of mid tier FAs will not use up the space. W/ that in mind, I am wondering if we will see some big roster bonuses this year, as opposed to using just signing bonuses. It was frustrating watching Kwiatkoski chasing helplessly after Packers' receivers play after play. Seattle's Oline has issues and we should be able to get pressure early and often on Wilson which means he'll be scrambling. Smith's speed is a must have.

Pundits point out Trubisky's near interceptions but don't mention Mahomes had 3 picks dropped by New England; he barely broke 50% in completions (16/31) and didn't do anything until the Patriots started dropping 8 into coverage in the 4th. He is absolutely going to be a boom or bust QB. I can imagine the media outrage if Trubisky had that many incompletions. The double standard is crazy.
