I got the feedback on Cassell and it seemed to be about half for a trade and half against. In any case the draft pick had to no higher than a second or lower. Now there's some talk in Phoenix of the Cards considering trading Leinart. After getting to the playoffs I don't think they have a choice but to re-sign Warner and effectively make him the starter for next year. That means they can free up cap space and get another draft pick if they trade Leinart. My opinion is that Leinart doesn't have the work ethic to really succeed in the NFL. You know JA made the QB comment. Now, he is clarifying with support of Orton. That leads me to the mind game. Since we already know the Queens are going hell bent for a QB this off-season. Is JA setting up a bidding war so the Queens will run out and overspend for a QB? Kinda like a bluff in poker... Even though the Queens get their guy, they also get a strained cap for other needs. Hell, I'd do it. I still see us going after backup, but a stud seems outta line due to our support players not being up to snuff.

I agree that it's a clean hit, because the WR ducking his head when he sees the contact coming, but how many times have we seen a nearly identical play get called a penalty? I believe we've had a debate or two about the topic on this forum. There is no denying the helmets hit, and Phil Simms is a moron. That is precisely when we have seen the helmet-to-helmet penalty come into play. Over and over again. It's a bogus rule, but if they're going to apply it, then effing apply it.

He really hasn't played in two years, so he needs to redefine himself, starting in the off-season. He has to earn a spot on our team. He has to show he can be a starter, somebody we can depend on. We rewarded a very good player. He earned a new contract. But since then he has had some injuries, and when he has played, his play hasn't been up to his standards, I'm sure, and certainly our standards.

Green Bay announced Dom Capers as their new DC. So, it looks like they will be switching to a 3-4 D. Most likely not right away, but they will probably work in the 3-4 as Dom Capers is a 3-4 guy. They will be only the 4th NFC team to run some form of the 3-4. This scares me because I still don't trust Turner, and not sure if he can make adjustments in his schemes to face the 3-4. However, he'll have to as we are going to be facing 7 teams that will be running some form of the 3-4 next year, after not having to facing a single 3-4 team, let alone 3-4 front last year, and only 2 in 2007. Per the Tribune, Idonije is now represented by Rosenarce, which leads more to believe he made the move in hopes of getting a new deal. I don't blame him, as all players want long term security and he has only one year remaining, but no way I do a deal here, even if the deal is a good one for the bears. I like Idonije, and he is a nice player, but I think we should be focusing on getting a great player. What is the point of extending Idonije if the plan is to make him expendible? More and more, I think we are bound to draft heavy on defense, while attacking offense in FA. Look at our last two drafts. This past year, our top 3 picks were offense. The prior year, 2 of our top 3 picks were offense. Prior to these past two years, Angelo seemed to rotate between offense and defense each year. This year, I think Angelo will be going back to defense in the draft. W/ needs (at least in Angelo's eyes) at DE, DT, SLB, CB and S, I think it makes sense to Angelo to attack defense in the draft, especially as that is his strength.
