Steve Wyche on NFL Network keeps repeating that he believes the Bears will now focus on Abraham, Nicks and Winston.

This would be a solid move.

I'm going Williams. I'd rather pay the extra few million for a guy that I believe is an elite end. Just my 2 cents. Plus, I think it makes our defense that much better and should help us when it comes to going against the Lions/Packers pass attacks.

Cole is reporting that Vincent Jackson has narrowed his choice to the Bears & Bucs. Take it for what it is worth. Note: I personally put little validity into these type of leaks because I assume they have to be coming from the players and their reps and they probably want to throw a few teams out there to push/drive the market. I have to believe Emery has kept his free agent plans very close to the vest given the way he plans on running the Bears (e.g., secretively).

Emery's first call should be to OT Eric Winston then to wide receiver Vincent Jackson. Then guard Carl Nicks. Then safety LaRon Landry. Those players fill more glaring needs and would represent a wiser allocation of funds than Williams, likely the most expensive free agent on the market. Then try to sign Kamerion Wimbley and find a good CB in FA and then draft Floyd a LB,CB

Granted they can split this penalty into two seasons, but I don't see the benefit of backloading this penalty with so much lost with RGIII trade. This will give new found leverage to the bears in signing jackson. If he wants to win and make good money the bears are a logical fit. If he wants to be a rich loser then he should just sign in Tampa.

Apparently, Wimbley was the Bears top target in 2011 FA. However, he was resigned by the Raiders prior to the Bears getting a chance. This is pure McClure and the speculation is the Bears will be high on him again this year. They think he's the perfect compliment opposite Peppers. Probably will cost between 5-7M a year. I know we've talked about him a lot but I figure at this point, he deserves his own thread. I assume he will be release by the Raiders shortly!

V Jack Super Mario Nicks Colston If the Bears are going to go after 1 big time FA, which one do you think will pay off the most? Im torn on this one 2 reasons Nicks, makes Cutler and Forte lives easier in both the pass and run, there still is a chance to draft a WR or even sign a wr like Royal and Draft one too Mario- makes the entire defense better, CB and Safety both become less important of needs(still a need but not as imnportant), G-Men did it with the best Dline in the NFL. Also gets the D younger. I have watched very little on Vjack, is this guy a top 5 WR(i know he tore the Bears up)??? I feel that you never hear him men…
