Round 1. WR-Micheal Floyd: Displayed himself as the best all around WR at the combine. Enough said Round 2. CB-Stephen Gilmore: Great size, speed, and stength Round 3a. TE- Mike Egnew: all the skills we need Round 3b: OG/OT - Kenechi Osemele: 6'6 330lbs. May be long gone. But is very raw and athletic Round 4: LB - Tank Carder: hope he lasts this long Round 5: OG/DT Round 6: OG/DT

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...r-they-cut-him/ Anthony Adams praises the Bears after they cut him Posted by Michael David Smith on February 28, 2012, 11:47 AM EST Getty Images Bears defensive lineman Anthony Adams was released this week, but he has no hard feelings. In fact, Adams told Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times that he still has warm feelings for the Bears, loved his time in Chicago and completely understands the business decision the team made. “I don’t blame them,” Adams said. “I probably would have done the same thing.” Adams also took to Twitter to thank everyone who made him feel welcome during his five years i…

I just wanted to make a general thread for news and notes coming out of the combine. Here are some general tidbits to prepare you for the combine: Combine Dates (22-28 FEB 12) 1. Players are broken down into 11 groups: Group 1 (PK, ST, OL), Group 2 (OL), Group 3 (TE), Group 4 (QB, WR), Group 5 (QB, WR), Group 6 (RB), Group 7 (DL), Group 8 (DL), Group 9 (LB), Group 10 (DB), Group 11 (DB). 2. All groups have basically the same schedule covering 4 days, but the groups arrive on different days. Groups 1-3 arrive on the 22nd, Groups 4-6 on the 23rd, Groups 7-9 on the 24th, and Groups 10-11 on the 25th. 3. The days are broken down: Day 1: Travel, Regis…

Nearly every measurable shows the Bears as having one of the worst OLs in the NFL. Pro Football Focus does individual and unit measurements, showing the Bears as the worst. Their Pass Block Efficiency shows that Garza wasn't as great at Center as some would believe. It should come as no surprise that Webb is one of the worst OTs, which I guess is a step up from begin the absolute worst RT in 2010 (Pssst, Omiyale was one of the worst LTs that year). On top of that, NFL.com shows the Bears OL as sixth worst in the NFL, 5th in sacks, and 5th in QB Hits. What's very interesting is the Power Left Stat, that shows a severe deficiency when attempting to get the difficul…

PFT reported earlier that Green Bay is likely to cut Chad Clifton and restructure Donald Driver's deal. I know Clifton is 35, but he'd be an instant upgrade at LT. Perhaps this way, they can get LT and WR done in FA and focus on the D in the draft. Just a thought.

This frees up about $2M in cap space. This puts the Bears close to $30M under the cap (based upon Biggs analysis).

This is not good news. Bowe is tagged; Johnson expected to resign. Desean Jackson tagged (although could be had via trade). Vincent Jackson still in negotiations with the Chargers. Saints have more cap space than expected (related to Colston). And Floyd puts up a strong 40 time (which makes it more likely that he comes off the board before 19). Will they have to look at Mike Wallace (and the loss of a 1st rounder). If so, could the Bears cut a deal to trade down (get another pick) and than sign Wallace (haha). Stevie Johnson - WR - Bills Free agent Stevie Johnson hopes to have long-term negotiations with the Bills wrapped up "within a week or so." "I don’…

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...ears-april-camp CHICAGO -- Chicago Bears right tackle Gabe Carimi said his surgically-repaired right knee is now pain free, and he’s aiming to participate in the team’s first offseason camp in April. “That’s what we’re looking for,” Carimi said Saturday night at a charity event for the Jewish National Fund. “We’re making good progress. Getting me out there as soon as possible is a major thing.” Carimi, the Bears' first-round pick in 2011, injured his right knee in the second game of the season. He tried to rehab the knee without surgery. But after a setback, he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee in early …

Here is some recent rumors going around. I would like to see the Bears get an upgrade to the Nick Roach position. what to do this offseason and what is available... #1 priority should be a LT to keep our franchise player off of IR. what are the options? 1. convert chris williams back to his projected position as left tackle unless tice won't budge on his quality evaluation of williams at that position. if that's the case we have another angelo bust. 2. it's always a thin market for good, young, FA left tackles. the only options i have seen both come from san diego and both have questions in regards to health issues. as i have not watched many charger games i am basing this call mainly on what i have read and not seen so take that with a grain of salt. Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that the team and Forte’s representatives will discuss a long-term contract in advance of Forte becoming a free agent. Forte’s made no secret of his desire for such a deal over the last year, but nothing happened while Jerry Angelo was the team’s General Manager. These will be the first meetings on the topic since Phil Emery replaced Angelo earlie…
