  1. Started by Pixote,

Watching NFL Network this morning they are saying that W Anderson will be signing on with the Baltimore Ravens. No news yet on the Fred Miller option.

  2. Started by jason,

I heard a rumor the other day from a reliable source that the Raiders would be willing to part with Rolando McClain for a very insignificant amount in trade. Possibly a 6th or 7th round draft pick. And that's IF he doesn't get released. Young, crazy talented, maybe a bit stupid, definitely a bit of a trouble maker, but a possibly cheap solution for the MLB situation in Chicago. For all capologists: What would he count against the cap if he were traded to the Bears?

I think the fact that we have yet to fill the last spot on the practice squad means we will be bringing in at least one OLman. We do not know which one, Miller, Anderson, ????? I keep on going to the various sites for news and the only thing I saw was Metcalf returning to practice, Oakley was signed by the Cardinals, and they were mentioning the missing player yet to be named on the PS. It will be interesting who we pick up. I am sure that it will just be a stop gap type of player, probably an older vet like R Brown was when we picked him up, or Miller. We will still have to address the issue of our OL next year in FA and the draft.

  4. Rusty Jones was the Bears' strength and conditioning coach from 2007 to 2012 after having been a "secret weapon" (according to Marv Levy) for the Buffalo Bills for 20 years. He retired after the 2012 season, and I remember how he emphasized flexibility and individual nutrition programs. I remember that we had fewer injuries back then, and I remember writing a post to this board back in 2013 saying that he was an unsung hero and we would miss him. here it is - I found it And surely, the Bears have been bitten by injury bugs over the years since. Pierre Ngo has been an assistant of strength and conditioning with the bears for two stints.from 2015 t…

http://www.walterfootball.com/nflrumors/freeagency 2/1: Carson Palmer has moved his family out of Arizona and sold his home. - Mike Jurecki, FOX Sports Palmer hinted at retirement, and this is an even stronger sign. Palmer could still return for one year, but no one should be surprised if he hangs up his cleats. -Walter 2nd source: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/...out-of-arizona/ I said it before but Bruce Arians does not have the time before he wants to retire (or has to due to health issues) to rebuild with one of these rookie QBs. If Palmer is done he'll want someone who can play now. He's got two options: Romo and Cutler. Romo's con…

What's the best, most realistic trade you can see for the Bears? The requirements pretty much have to be: 1. Trade value similarity 2. A team that might make a huge move because of extra picks 3. A team that might take a huge gamble 4. A move up to get a player that is unlikely to fall I have been looking at this for a while, trying to crunch numbers, and I finally found one that I think is very intriguing. Chicago trades 1.3 (2200) Cleveland trades 1.12 (1200), 2.33 (580), 2.52 (380) 1. 2200 & 2160 2. Cleveland is in rare position to energize their franchise. Two first rounders and ten picks overall. 3. Cleveland is not known for …

  9. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2582867...dipping-problem I know we all recently learned about the outburst and him being named captain (after this most recent fiasco) but seeing more specifics...craaazzy. Only thing I wonder is why didn't new regime drop him immediately (as I presume they would have been made aware of how players felt, etc...or maybe general reaction from players was okay with Ratliff...they just wanted to see more control from coaches)?

Rank the coaching candidates based on who you think is the best fit. I'll explain my top 3 Mine: 1- McCoy 2- Dennison 3- Trestman 4- Sullivan 5- Bevell 6- Arians 7- Carmichael 8- Clements 9- Toub 10- Decamillas The rest-- Hell no! Top 3: 1- McCoy Type of offense: Shotgun heavy passing attack/short-medium, mix of power running and zone running concepts + Adaptable + Gets the most out of a QB + Experience working with Peyton Manning + Young and hungry - Best year statistically as an offense is this season under Manning - Uncertainty over how much control he has over play calling 2- Dennison Type o…

Over the last two games I like the progress I've seen on defense. The Packers minus Rodgers are not the same team but other than bouncing off Lacy and a some missed assignments during the game we had people in the right place most of that game. Against Detroit, minus another starter (SMC) we held our own against their run and passing games. Not even close to what we saw against Detroit in the first matchup this season. I checked on some stats and I'll be honest I don't see it showing up there so I got nothing to back me up. From an execution standpoint I felt our LBs and Dline were in better position and making contact around the LOS more than we were a few games ba…

Apparently LSU's left tackle, Ciron Black, still hasn't signed with anybody. I have no idea why the Bears aren't on the phone with him right now. His lack of agility and range means he's not a left tackle in the pros, but he could project to either right tackle or guard. The guy is seriously durable and consistent (made 53 starts for LSU,) and he's a good run-blocker with enough size/strength to help in the run game. I'm sure he wouldn't be able to hold up in pass-protection at left tackle, but as a developmental guard or right tackle prospect, he seems like he'd have a ton of upside.

Does anyone think we should take this guy with our first round pick? I don't like him and think he's nothing more than a NB in the NFL. I've seen him mocked to us at #8 in several places. Everything I've seen of him on film just shows a quick little guy. When he tackles someone he's usually going for a ride backwards about 3yards. That won't get any better in the NFL. Some smaller players have the ability to play bigger, Callahan comes to mind, but I haven't seen that in the film I watched. I think players like Alshon Jeffrey, who Ward can easily run with, would own him on all jump balls. I haven't seen anyone calling for us to draft him at #8 nor even in a …

There isn't a chance in hell that Zack Miller plays a single down this year. He may never play again, period. But the Bears signed him to a league minimum one year deal. A classy move on the Bears' part to help a player who gave them everything he had when healthy. I'd love to see him fulfill his dream of returning to the game, but have serious doubts it will be physically possible after that type of injury. This years draft is suppose to be strong in the DB area, both CB & S. However, the Bears are so weak in this area I can see us addressing it in FA & the draft. On ESPN they are saying the Bears should go after Logan Ryan, CB from NEP. Unfortunately, it is one of their ESPN Insider articles, I refuse to pay, LOL. I did find an INTERESTING ARTICLE ON LOGAN RYAN when trying to find out more info. I think it might be written by a fan but I think extremely well written and researched, worth a read, for free ;-) According to the article other notable 2017 free agent cornerbacks include Trumaine Johnson, Stephon Gilmore, A.J. Bouye, Morris C…
