So while reading about Ray "dipshit" McDonalds departure from the team I started seeing commentary about the possibility of Jets DLman Mo Wilkerson being dangled as trade bait. So far the Jets have publicly said they intend to keep him but he's apparently in a contract year, holding out AND they just drafted Leonard Williams. Some of the concerns obviously are his demand for a big contract and that our team has other needs than just DL. But... Is Wilkerson impactful enough to make a difference to the new defense that Fangio is working to implement? And could Martellus Bennett being offered in a trade to the Jets sweeten the deal? http://m.bleacherreport.com/arti…

Another veteran with starting experience signed to a 1-year deal, though he hasn't been very good since his Super Bowl heroics. Hopefully one younger guys beats him out (Bryce Callahan, Jacoby Glenn, Demontre Hurst, Al Louis-Jean), but provides some decent insurance.

I would love to see the Bears enter a draft with extra picks stockpiled. It seems every year we enter the draft with less picks than rounds. So the thought of giving up a future draft pick to obtain a promising prospect is questionable in my mind. Especially when the prospect has a few question marks, however small they are. It appears that Isaiah Battle is a highly regarded OT prospect, one who could possibly anchor an OL on the left side for a long time. So would you roll the dice on him? What would it take to make the Bears Super Bowl contenders? I don't consider this coming season a great possibility, but lets say 2016 working within realistic means. Come draft day and FA, what moves would bring Chicago the Lombardi? What players need to emerge? My thoughts: Long transcends to OT and the oline play improves Cutler emerges with his surrounding talent and becomes a top 10-12 QB Chicago develops a strong running game behind Forte and Langford Defensively, they have the biggest hill to climb but Ego, Goldman, and Ratliff become a solid front McPhee was a hidden gem and becomes a monster in the pass rush Fuller builds on a solid rookie ca…

How will this roster shake out once regular season starts? We know what we have in Matt Forte. I expect him to perform as usual and possibly beyond being a contract year. Do the Bears extend him going forward? Do they use his money to extend another player on a contract year like Mason Foster or Shea McClellin if one of those two becomes the leader in the middle? Many questions arise with the RB because behind Matt is completely unknown. Jeremy Langford is a given to survive this season as a Bear, being this regimes draft pick. He has a similiar skill set to Forte, but an extra gear of speed. The problem is, can he bring that into the NFL? I expect some growing p…

https://cbschicago.files.wordpress.com/2015...-3-51-57-pm.png Some things I notice: - Guard depth does not look good, with Ducasse and someone named Jason Weaver the current backups, though I understand that Ola can play there as well. - Kadeem Carey has an uphill job making this roster with Rodgers and Langford ahead of him. This fits with what I saw last week when I was at training camp. They obviously had a plan with Rodgers and even Langford (saw him out wide blocking on WR screens). Not sure where Carey fits right now. - I like what I saw from Cameron Meredith last week and it looks like right now he's the most highly thought of under the radar WR. We'…

Pats ended up getting the win, but the Dolphins blew a late lead as Troy Smith led the Ravens down for the game tying field goal. Stover to attempt a FG in OT for a Ravens win. Come on, make it, I want those stinking fins to go 0-16 with the Pats going 16-0 just to shove it to that old Dolphin team.

Jaws, Trico, Cornd$ck showed nothing but love to the Vikings the whole game, they talked like the Vikings were some great team which clearly they are not. To bad the coaching staff didnt put 8 in the box the first time around. Flase starts, our line is old and beat up but with age you would think comes wisdom and stupid false starts should not be a reaccuring theme. The Fred Miller penalty was uncalled for. INT should have been a TD, granted i didnt expect much from Orton. When he threw the ball his mechanics were horrible he was almost falling to the left which is where the ball ended up going if he would have planted and stepped into the throw he cou…

  19. Im wondering if its ever been done. We have requisite playmaking ability along the line and it seems to me we could drop 1-2 guys into zone as needed...but really put the heat on pass rush and pound gaps in the run game. What if our starting D line was Brown, Dvoracek, Harris, Ogun and Anderson. Leave Hunter and Urlacher at the second level...and try something different. Just brainstorming. Flamesuit is on. And where do I send my resume for the potentially available D Coordinator job?
