Looks like we migh have ourselves a gem in the making. He doesn't wilt in run defense which is a huge attribute. Check out Thayer's analysis of he and fellow rookie Langford's impressive play. Thayers playbook And I just read that Detroit's RB Zach Zenner was lost to IR after breaking four ribs and a collapsed lung. Because of a collision with Amos. http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2015/..._partially.html

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago-bears/post...nd-charles-leno LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- There is uncertainty surrounding the Chicago Bears' left tackle position since Charles Leno played reasonably well filling in for veteran Jermon Bushrod (concussion/shoulder) the past three games. ...... “When you guys figure it out let me know,” offensive line coach Dave Magazu said. “I don’t know. I haven’t gotten that far. That will be something we discuss and move on from there. I don’t know. I’m not even lying. And I don’t have a problem lying to you guys.” ---------------------------------------------------------------- Bushrod has struggled with speed as usual…

I know it is early to talk draft, but building things is an interest of mine. Right now we are on the bye week and sitting at around a top 10 pick. Talkbears is a site I enjoy because it is small and the group that participates has passion and knowledge. I have spent nearly 15 years here it seems give or take. This offseason, we should have the resources to add some great players draft and free agent wise. Which way should a young GM go? This draft we can start the process 5-6 different position ways. 1-QB - Jay Cutler is showing he can be a good enough signal caller. How many years left can he be a guy to count on is my main concern. With a high pick, we can grab a …

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2580349...ened-from-there From the article it sounds like Josh McDaniels is a super douche. This article is from a former scouting guy with Denver. You don't normally get this much first hand details in the sporting world.

I don't think I'd mind this change at all. I didn't like Ducasse when we signed him and he hasn't played well enough to date to change my mind. Scout.com is reporting he's on the hot seat with possibly Omameh getting a look soon. http://www.scout.com/nfl/bears/

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2582867...dipping-problem I know we all recently learned about the outburst and him being named captain (after this most recent fiasco) but seeing more specifics...craaazzy. Only thing I wonder is why didn't new regime drop him immediately (as I presume they would have been made aware of how players felt, etc...or maybe general reaction from players was okay with Ratliff...they just wanted to see more control from coaches)?

Was reading a presser today that upon Ratliff's release from Chicago, that precipitated the team to call Dallas on a precautionary nature. Given the volatility of the release, Ratliff's history with Dallas and apparently still maintaining a residence near Dallas' training facility... made sense. Have to hand it to Pace, Fox and some degree McCaskey with their dealing with not only Ratliff but with McDonald earlier this season. Although some would argue that the McDonald situation was nearly self-inflicted, they still addressed it rather than let it malinger. And with Ratliff they addressed it rapidly rather than let it make a mess of a very 'young' and relatively…

Coming soon. Of the current Bears there are three names that I see pop up here and there. Forte, Jeffery and Cutler. Obviously Forte is the most logical (although I personally would hate it) as there are several teams in need of star RB. The article below makes it sound viable especially when you consider Denver and "our" apparent new familiarity of one another. And the way it appears Langford is gaining trust with the staff it makes Matt even more expendable. Haven't heard much about Jeffery as of late but admittedly could see him being dangled, especially if the team loses this weekend. And yes I did see some mention of Cutler as a possibility for trade to a team …

I'd take a chance on this kid. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000056...kendall-gaskins With our WRs getting healthy, and some young ones like Bellamy and Meredith showing potential we won't miss Mariani much if he were cut. I think the 49ers put too much on Hayne's plate with this being his first year playing football. He's an excellent athlete but they had him doing returns and also getting snaps at RB. Just keep him focused on returns and give him another offseason to settle into the NFL environment, playbook, etc. before asking him to play RB.

I hate Mariani more than any Bear player I can remember in a while. He drops punts. When he catches them he has the vision of Ray Charles on returns. And on kickoffs, despite the team not getting any sort of blocking, he returns them when he catches the ball 8-9 yards deep in the end zone. He did it twice now in this Minnesota game. It's time for the Bears to go a different direction. This dude is slow, has iffy hands, has bad vision, makes poor decisions, and did I mention he's slow? Please replace this turd pronto.

Forte out for the second half. Let's see what this kid has. Thus far he has pretty good burst to the hole, a good surge at the end of his runs, but he appears to lack vision.

SoS will be computed after this week, so these are using last week's SoS, so we may pass Dallas for 8th after the games are computed: 1. DET 1-7 (7) 2. TEN 1-6 (30) 3. CLE 2-6 (14) 4. SD 2-6 (12) 5. BAL 2-6 (4) 6. SF 2-6 (1) 7. JAX 2-5 (19) 8. DAL 2-5 (6) 9. CHI 2-5 (5) 10. HOU 3-5 (23) 11. KC 3-5 (2) We play 3 teams on this list (SD, SF, and DET), 2 bad teams (TB, WAS), 2 great teams (GB, DEN), and 2 good, but beatable teams (MIN, STL). What is crazy is we could still technically win 7 of those 9 games and no one would question those wins, and we could also only win 3 of them and no one would question the losses. Such an odd season. Cra…

First I have to admit the free tequila shots at the bar made this game feel better than it was. Cutler: With another Oline combination in front of him against a strong pass rush threat he kept his composure and stayed within the game plan. Overall a good game with no turnovers. Oline: I think these guys were the cause of all the conservative play calls early in the game. With interior line of Omameh, Slauson, and Ducasse I believe Gase didn't want big mistakes early and allowed the Oline time to settle in and get a feel for the inside pressure the Vikings like to bring. Later on he opened up the play calling. RBs: Forte is still a good RB bu…

I'm not sure you could put together numbers in a more meaningless way than Total QBR. Rodgers threw for 77 yards with an average of 3.5/catch, an incredible 10pts on offense, and he's ranked 11th in Total QBR. That is above players like Brady who's team put up 36pts in a win over Miami while throwing for 356yds, 9.4/catch. http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr/_/type/player-week
