Was reading a presser today that upon Ratliff's release from Chicago, that precipitated the team to call Dallas on a precautionary nature. Given the volatility of the release, Ratliff's history with Dallas and apparently still maintaining a residence near Dallas' training facility... made sense. Have to hand it to Pace, Fox and some degree McCaskey with their dealing with not only Ratliff but with McDonald earlier this season. Man that was a crazy hit. I am sure he will get 2-4 games for that one, due to the head to head contact. I know everyone is calling this dirty, but I don't know if it was intended to be. I am sure Trevathan was frustrated and wanted to make a hard hit, but I don't think he wanted to hit head on head. I watched it a few times and when Trevathan is closing in, his helmet is chest high on Adams, and within a few feet, Adams concedes the tackle and starts to drop straight down. The Packers are switching over to the 3-4 defense and after watching ESPNs update on Packer's camp and listening to their chat about how the DEs and LBs have to change roles somewhat I got to thinking how our offense will fare against them. I view the 3-4 as more of a stout run defense that gets it's pass rush in part because of the opportunities to bring a 4th or 5th pass rusher from multiple locations. Pass coverage with 4 LB has some limitations so the pass rush is key. They've got personnel issues with guys like Kampman, the Packer's best pass rusher, who now lines up as a LB. According to a collection of big boards here is what I came up with: T. Hunter CB/WR - most likely non-QB to go #1 T. McMillan WR - I feel like the Bears are good at WR with Moore and Odunze and a vet like Allen or someone else can be WR3. M. Graham DT - I would love him on the Bears A. This stuff is such a breath of fresh air compared to Reebok. They really packed it in these past few years knowing the end was near, and it showed in their product. Also, the new jerseys will debut Tuesday, per Sean Jensen.

Did anyone else hear the post-game comments about it being "Bear weather" and that the Bears ran the ball well? I'm paraphrasing, but he said something like, "Well, it's Bear weather, and I think that when you have a game like that, you have to run. We had to run, we did run. I think we had about 38 rushes, and any time you do that it's a good thing." Does he really think we are that stupid? I was at the game, and let me tell you...it was disgraceful how poorly the Bears played. To only beat the Rams by 8 points is unreal. There were countless discipline problems, again, and the offense was ridiculous.

David Kaplan on ESPN Chicago said that he has heard that the Bears are scared that the Garoppolo price is going to be so insane and that the Browns will pay it that the Bears are seriously looking at A.J McCarron.

I took a look as some important plays, went back and took screenshots to dissect and discuss the plays. This first one is easy, almost entirely on Briggs. Hard to fault and player, even Conte when a RB has 20 yards head start to run straight at you. Here are some pics showing the play: On #1 you can see the LBs in their correct gaps, and what looks like Briggs watching the handoff. However, on #2 he moves with Manuel leaving his gap wide open and there is Safety help creeping in for the contain on Manuel.
