I wanted to take a unit approach look to evaluating our offseason needs. I think it is pretty evident where we need help, but wanted to verify it with some comparisons (by unit). So I looked at PFF Rankings (and will follow with a few more) to see how we looked compared to NE and ATL. Here are the latest rankings I could find by unit: NE QB - 1st, OLine - 10th, Receiving Corps - 6th, RB Units - 18th Front-7 - 18th, Secondary - 3rd ATL QB - 2nd, OLine - 6th, Receiving Corps - 1st, RB Units - 8th Front-7 - 24th, Secondary - 6th CHI QB - 26th, OLine - 15th, Receiving Corps - 28th, RB Units - 17th Front-7 - 23rd, Secondary - 30th This is…

Take it at fast value but was surprised to see that ranking pulled together. He wasn't even rated highly from a receiving perspective (which makes me question the entire rating process PFF put together). He certainly wasn't an elite football player last year. He got a lot of garbage stats and run blocking wasn't good but I can't remember a special move / play he made last season. I like Forte a lot but in a deep RB draft and with Carey on board, the money you free up could help you land 2 starting caliber players (shore up oline / defense).

Caleb comes in at #19, between Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield. This feels like a pretty fair spot to start at, though, I think he will be closer to to 10 than top 20. I don't know if the Bears have ever had 3 top 30 WRs on the same roster. With all the shit going down in NOs, would it be interesting if they let Brees go, and signed P. Manning as there new QB. That would be a big distraction to the pending issues that will go down in the south.

PFT has a piece, using quotes from Harris, saying Harris could be calling out Urlacher and Briggs. Reading the quotes, I tend to agree, or at least calling out one of them. There's mention that SF isn't interested in Briggs. I figure it to be a smokescreen since they will get their hands slapped by the NFL soon I imagine. If true, I suppose it increases the chances of our singing him. They also mention the possibility of the Bears trading for Warner in their note on Orton.
