Here is a quick look at how are rookies are doing so far: Smith - 15 solo tackles (2nd on team), 1 sack, 1 PD, played in a team-high 81% of defensive team snaps vs TB. He is clearly getting more and more playing time, and he is nowhere near his peak yet. Just think about it, no one is even talking about him because guys like Jackson, Hicks, Trevathan, Callahan, and of course Mack are playing great. Daniels - rotated with Kush in TB game, looks like he is ready for prime time. He seeks contact like a vulture. He wants to hit people and is very athletic and strong. A great combination for our OLine. He has to be starting coming out of the bye. Miller - 8 rec, 60 y…

How much conversation has transpired this week between Nagy and Reid? Trust this, Reid wants us win badly enough to offer a ton of assistance. Let the games begin!

So for our 2 year anniversary my wife wants me to pick out a Bears jersey. I want to go with an orange Mack Jersey, but on the NFL shop online the only orange Mack jerseys (or any Mack jersey for that matter) are the ones with the screen printed name/number etc. I don't see anywhere on the NFL shop to get the version with the stitched names/number, etc. like they used to sell as "authentic" vs cheap screen print. I prefer the stitched as the screened ones crack and peel. I noticed that there are different versions of the Nike jerseys. Where the Limited and Elite both have stitched numbers/name. But looks like the only one like that for the Bears is a Jordan Howard.…

https://www.chicagobears.com/news/bears-players-visit-children-s-hospital It's awesome to see 33 players give up their day off to visit a children's hospital, especially given the very tight schedule they have in the next 10 days. Best wishes for Will Rodgers' daughter in her battle with Leukemia. We usually see this stuff in the offseason when players have more time available and even then I don't recall seeing a group this large. I think it says a lot about the character of the players on our roster.

https://www.chicagobears.com/news/roster-moves-bears-activate-shaheen-move-sims-to-ir This is good news. I'm surprised they are putting Sims on IR and effectively this is the end of his Bears career. They would rather have Smoke Mizzell in the mix and apparently prefer Brown and Braunecker at TE as well.

    I didn't know this, but we have the exact same opponents as we did in 2006 (our last trip to the SB) and so far we have lost to the same exact 3 teams. Check out the similarities: -- 2006 / 2018 -- 1. DET 34-7 / 34-22 2. MIN 19-16 / 25-20 3. SEA 37-6 / 24-17 4. BUF 40-7 / 41-9 5. ARZ 24-23 / 16-14 6. NYJ 10-0 / 24-10 7. TB 34-31 / 48-10 8. DET 26-21 / 23-16 9. NYG 38-20 / 10. STL 42-27 / 11. GB 26-7 / 12. SF 41-10 / 13. MIN 23-13 / Losses 1. MIA 31-13 / 31-28 2. NE 17-13 / 38-31 3. GB 26-0 / 24-23

With the division champs locked in, we now know our 2019 schedule. When you win, the battles become tougher. Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, NFC East-Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Washington Redskin, AFC West-Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos, NFC North division, New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams.

Found this on the web and thought I'd post it here. https://www.chicagoaudible.com/four-players-pagano-chicago/ I don't think Lynch will be back, and certainly not at $4mil/yr. That leaves the option of bringing back Acho and letting Irving or Fitts step into a more active role. They could let Acho go and bring in someone like John Simon to take Lynch's spot while letting young guys get more snaps. That would save about $1mil.

No surprise but thrilled non the less. Living outside of the Chicago area always love it when the Bears get national attention.

He seems like a player who could step in and replace Amos right away. He's somewhat limited in coverage range but in his highlights I'd say he's better in coverage inside the numbers than Amos, and certainly has the hands to make a catch. He's a good tackler and fits in well around the LOS. https://thedraftnetwork.com/2019/02/03/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-amani-hooker/

With free agency starting we all play fantasy football for the bears. We all want Bell, Collins, and top free agents. The truth is we have arrived, we no longer are in line to go after needs, we are now tweaking the roster. We scratch our heads with Skine and Davis but the truth is we have to find competent replacements, they don't have to be stars. Now it's about fitting players in our spending window. You think maybe Callahan and Amos looked good because they were playing with stars around them. I think the personal had something to do with it. A lot are improvements will come from our existing roster getting better. Trubisky, Miller, Floyd , Smith, Nichol…

Chicago Bears: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has allowed a passer rating of just 52.9 on throws into his primary coverage since 2014, which is the best mark among all safeties in that time. Green Bay Packers: A staggering 47.1% of Adrian Amos‘ career targets have resulted in either a defensive stop or a forced incompletion. This defensive success rate is currently tied with Charles Woodson for the best mark by a safety in the PFF era. From PFF Why stats and how they are reported can give me a headache. Why not just compare the same stats in the same story?

Since Pace is going to go with the BPA, here is my list of players I would be happy with with draft value around that spot in the draft. Henderson/RB Sanders/RB Sternberger/TE Oliver/TE Howard/OT McGovern/OG Jordan/OG Miller/edge/Ala Walker/edge/Georgia Savage/S Hooker/S Johnson/CB/Ken Long/CB Obviously there are some higher ranked players that would be good, but I doubt if any of the top 50 would drop that far.

The Bears signed a ILB Kevin Pierre-Lewis. He has ties to new ILB coach Mark DeLeone. He played for the Jets last year. He played under DeLeone in 2017. 6'1 236 lbs. had a 4.51 40 at his draft class. My question, would they leave him on the roster and cut someone like Nick Kwiatkoski or Joel IGGY ? As they look for special team players, I see them keeping 8 LBs . 4 in and 4 O. Curious why they make this move other than for ST type of situation.

I was surprised to see Montgomery listed among the top 5 on this list. I think he's a good fit for what we need and his ability to make the first unblocked defender miss will add significantly to our offense even if he doesn't have breakaway speed. Regardless I'm not sure I see him as a top 5 RoY candidate. If he's in the discussion late in the season it means our offense is kicking some butt. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001030975/article/top-25-nfl-rookies-in-best-position-for-year-1-success 5) David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears: We're riding the Montgomery hype train with colleague/conductor Adam Rank. Bears head coach Matt Nagy updated the progress of third-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky on Wednesday, noting that, "Mitch is in and out of the huddle, he sees the defense, and from the time we've been out here it's exciting. OK, I know that is coach speak but it just seems funny. I would be really scared if he could not get in or out of the huddle and did not see the defense. Does someone point him in the right direction when he can't get in or out of the huddle or see the D? It's that way Mitch.

  19. I think we are set up to go to the SB this year. With the upgrade of talent in starters and backups , we can handle a few injuries but not MT. Defense: With the addition of HaHa and Skrine we have 2 capable players. I think HaHa takes a step forward and has several quality plays that Amos didnt have. Skrine lacks some of Callahan's talent but is 16 games of a a 5 better than 12 games of a 6 (value). Nichols, Smith, Floyd are all taking a step forward, with only Prince the potential of regressing because of his age? (maybe not) I think Tolliver, Shelley, Bush all add depth. If Jackson would get hurt, I think HaHa slides over and Bush fills in just fine. Plen…

https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2019/06/19/the-nfls-11-best-offensive-tackles/ So the Bears did not make a top eleven tackle. But they had a player in every other list and in some two. Just amazing how good this defense is. I am looking forward to seeing how they will play with Pagano. And I don't for a minute think they are going backwards just because they lost Fangio. When Ryan left they were just as good and in many areas even better.
