I feel pretty confident stating that today is plretty much playing out what the vast majority of us expected to happen. And it's pretty muc Turner as scapegoat, and lame duck Lovie for at least 1 more year...2 if the planets align. In the meantime, we give Jay 4 OC's in probably 5 years. 3 line coaches for Williams...etc. This just delays the inevitable. It's the hallmark of a family run business. I'm not sure Smith is kept on so much for the loot, but I think becasue old Virgiania just likes Smith as a person. Too bad she is not a football person and can't see he is not a good HC. Well, given what we're expecting to hear at the conference today, my …

PRESS CONFERENCE - ROUGHLY: TED the head PHILLIPS: "they (angelo, lovie) welcome change"? since when you idiot. YOU should be changed as the first order of business. after 8 and 6 years respectively, where has the change been? how long do you wait for change from coach and gm? until their contracts expire and your books are still in the black? "a frustrating season"?? it was a frustrating DECADE teddy boy and we are starting on another frustrating decade!!! well ted, you got continuity alright, more garbage to go along with past garbage. "our players need to play at a higher level"? hmmm how is that to happen and WHY aren't they playing at a higher l…

http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/league-of-...conference.html I especially love this comment below: "I could see them re-singing him. Because the status quo is not acceptable, but everything is okay. Which is why we need to make major changes, but not a massive overhaul. Because even though Lovie and Jerry have been really bad at their jobs, we trust them because they got us to the Super Bowl. So, to recap: everything is just fine. Major changes coming. But nothing major."

Just wondering, but could our not firing Lovie be more an indictment of Angelo? Could it be that the team is not ready to fire Angelo, but at the same time, not sure whether he will remain long term? If Angelo is in hot water, does it make sense to fire Lovie this year, have Angelo hire a new HC? The more I think about it, the more I think this has a lot to do w/ Angelo. I don't think our owners are ready to fire Angelo, but not willing to allow him to hire a new HC either. That could mean that next year, assuming we don't see big gains, will end in a total house cleaning.

Haugh, per Twitter, reported on the Score, said Marinelli to DC was discussed, but the team intends to search outside the org for a new defensive signal caller. God, if only this is true.

HOME Minnesota (11-4) Philadelphia (11-4) Green Bay (10-5) New England (10-5) NY Jets (8-7) Seattle (5-10) Washington (4-11) Detroit (2-13) AWAY Minnesota (11-4) Green Bay (10-5) Dallas (10-5) NY Giants (8-7) Miami (7-8) Carolina (7-8) Buffalo (5-10) Detroit (2-13) These games are assuming the NFL uses the same pattern they have used thru 2009. Hi All, I was just thinking, what is everyone thinking about the RB position? Last year Forte was thought to be the answer, many more questions around that thinking now I would think? Personally, I think we make sure that Jones is going to be sound next year and sign him up, and then think seriously about whether Wolfe is worth keeping. Can he really be a significant part of our offence?

If the Bears management takes the cheap, I mean gutless, I really meant stupid way out and retains Lovie and staff I want to see only two maybe three changes made. 1) Fire Pep 2) Fire Harry Where's Turner you ask? I keep him. Kill me all you want, but hear me out. We all know Lovie is a lame duck, so whoever the new OC is, is lame duck as well. Also, as our OL began to gell our O started to produce. We all know it's too much too little and too late, but can a new OC deliver dramatic success in one year. People bring up up Martz: we all need to realize his playbook is complex and can not be mastered in a year. Also, look at his track record with Detro…

Okay, I realize we have a lot of injuries, but Bennett and some others are still good to go, yet Hester is handling all return (punt/kickoff) duties so far. Question is, are we seeing (a) Team showcase Hester for the purpose of a future trade? ( Team trying to get a look to see if Hester can return to this role in the future, or © Team simply going w/ Hester due to a shortage of bodies.

Check the bottom of this article. Shaw had a great game and Toub was amazed. Double Z said on the SCORE earlier today that Shaw scored 41 points based on Toub's system which broke the previous record (32 by Brendon A). http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,7169006.story Peace

As much as this trade has flip-flopped throughout the season, it seems to be a draw at this point. The QB's performed fairly evenly less Cutler's interceptions. Ayers was pretty much a non-factor, especially for the 18th overall pick. Knox was obviously a complete surprise and made significant contributions as a rookie with over 1,400 All-purpose yards and 6 TDs. Both teams missed the playoffs, so there is no real winner yet. The Broncos do hold the Bears 1st rounder in next year's draft, but they traded their own 1st rounder to Seattle. Alphonso Smith, the player they traded their 2010 1st rounder for ended the season with 0 INTs and 14 tackles. Broncos 8-8 …

What is interesting to me is that the offense's poor showing has overshadowed a crappy defense. If we are talking about firing the offensive coordinator, we could call for the same dismissal of the defensive coordinator...wait... he's our head coach. Check this quote from Pro Football Weekly, when they posted today a ranking of defensive coordinators (this is a scout's take): "22. Lovie Smith (head coach) / Bears — Though Bob Babich maintained his defensive-coordinator title to coach the linebackers, Smith coordinates the defense, with great help from D-line coach/assistant head coach Rod Marinelli. Personnel utilization and an inability to maximize talent ha…

Sorry I've been missing in action for a while. Didn't feel like I had anything constructive to say so I didn't say anything at all. Now that it's over, I think we need to see this team address the following: 1.) Repair the O Line through free agency. I sure wish I knew who was out there but this is (and has been) my number one concern. Having no first or second round choices this year sure isn't going to help. 2.) Determine who it was that was responsible for Devin A being unseen for the vast majority of the season and fire that guy. I'm not sure if this is Turner or Lovie but I sure recall Cutler lobbying for him during the preseason and it took all …

DETROIT -- After a season of wondering what was wrong with Matt Forte, the Bears finally admitted injuries played a role in his mediocre 2009 campaign. "I think [his health] had something to do with it," offensive coordinator Ron Turner said. "I don't think coming into it he was as healthy as he was a year ago. I think as the season wore on, that improved, and it showed." Forte dealt with hamstring problems in the offseason, then apparently hurt his MCL early in the season. "I think there was a drop-off [after the MCL injury], definitely," Turner said. "I don't think he had the acceleration or the burst we normally see from him. Yeah, I…
