We all agree we need an improved pass rush but we also need better DE depth. This draft poses the opportunity to draft one or the other. Guys like Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby who can give you both are somewhat rare. My question is which do you prefer we draft because we have options in the first couple rounds of players that go one way or the other? The obvious answer is we need a DE but having one really good pass rusher on the roster would change things for us in games where we can get a big lead early. I can understand why DET is being projected to win the division in a lot of places. The easiest schedule alone will give them a few more wins. However, I have no clue why some projections have GB in 2nd. Everyone seems to be inflating players that have never achieved heights they are expecting. First, there is Watson, somehow, he is being anointed as a sure-fire WR1, yet he has never topped 41 receptions and 620 Receiving Yards but is magically going to hit 80-1000 this season in Year 5? I just read on USA Today's Bearswire that Bagent is in concussion protocol? This is the first I've heard of this.

At 2-1, and going into a game at home against NYJ, the Bears should be 3-1 going to GB next Saturday. If they can squeeze out a win there and go to 4-1, it feels like they can go on crazy run. This is the remaining schedule through the bye: WK 6 - @ ATL 1-2 WK 7 - vs NE 1-2 WK 8 - @ SEA 2-1 WK 9 - vs TB 0-3 WK 10 - vs NO 1-2 WK 11 - BYE The SEA game feels like the only one that is a truly tough matchup, but they just lost to WAS with Mariota and barely beat the terrible Patriots. So I even feel optimistic about that game. So 8-1 is actually realistic at the bye. They may not get there, but it is not completely crazy to think they can.

I still think we could take a RB late in the draft but he is a good backup RB that can catch the ball.

With the possibility that the Bears are not matching the offer to Meredith, I was looking at who is currently on the roster. It's pretty scary. We have a bunch of question marks and not much depth. Our #1 is coming back from an injury. Oh, so is our #2, whether it's White (zero confidence in him) or Meredith, who may not even be with the team. So our top 2-3 receivers are coming off injury. Marlon Brown Hasn't played in a reg season game 2015 2013 undrafted FA. Had a back injury in 2015, signed to a 1 year deal to the broncos but was waived after another back injury. Later resigned by the broncos and released again in 2017. Seems to be a camp body.
