  1. Started by adam,

Broncos signed WR Darrell Jackson to a one-year, $1.5 million contract, according to NFL Network's Adam Schefter. Could've been a nice pickup for us.

  2. I keep trying to figure out what kind of strategy we are likely to see with this upcoming draft from the Bears, but I'm stuck because I have no idea how the new coaches and Poles see some of the current players. In my mind, I think it's mostly their evaluation of these five players that will be most crucial: -Kiran Amegadjie - He was obviously drafted to be the future LT. He was rushed into service last year when they had no intention of getting him in a game last year, even before he was hurt in the preseason and missed valuable experience, and as a result had some very bad reps but also had plenty of good ones. He probably has some flexibility as a swing tackle …

Why is he still on the team? Holding on the 3- yard line at the end of the game (just like he did against Indy). He needs to go. Peace

Damn I love watching the Bears! This is not going to be an easy game. I'd love us to start and finish strong. But, it seems we'll probably do what we've done. Start a little slow and then kick it into gear. We just need to keep Jay upright, continue to attempt to run the ball w/ Forte, apply pressure on their OL, and prevent the big play. Let's go Bears!

It looks like a dislocated patella, which may also mean a torn ligament (depending on severity). If the ligament is torn, it will require surgery as the knee cap will move around and be very unstable. If he has surgery, he will be out for 8-10 weeks at a minimum. If no torn ligament, he can come back with a brace in a few weeks. He was hurt on a simple QB sneak too, but he couldn't bend his leg. The Madden Curse is for real. You hate to see injuries to any player, but this actually hurts the Bears as KC plays GB next week, then MIN the following week. It is highly unlikely that Mahomes will play in either of those games, making KC pedestrian at best. On the oth…

I saw this tweet by Melton and wondered if it could mean he was asked to line up outside at DE... Pretty random tweet unless he was asked about it, and this wasn't in response to any ones question. Couple this with the fact that Tucker apparently likes bigger run stuffers in the middle and it could make sense. Could they add a massive DT to their list of draft needs?? Jesse Williams in the first would be a dream, Kwame Geathers in the 4th would be more realistic. How sexy would a Peppers-Paea-Williams-Melton front 4 look??? With Melton playing the Izzy role where he occasionally moves inside to give Wootton and SMC some snaps.

  11. Started by scs787,

A little surprised that they went with a new guy as apposed to just bringing up Dunn or Williams. Edwards was a backup on a talented LSU team (that featured Ego) but the scouting reports I read say he has NFL talent. Has those long 35"+ arms that I remember reading Fangio likes. Nothing to get too excited about. Probably goes down when Ratliff comes back.

Chicago Bears Round 1 (3): Jamal Adams, S, LSU Round 2 (36): Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama Round 3 (67): Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson The Bears' secondary still needs a lot of work, but the good news for Chicago fans is that this draft is ripe with playmakers in the defensive backfield. Adams is the most complete DB in the class and one of the best safety prospects I've evaluated in recent years. He can cover the slot or patrol the deep half, and he's an elite run defender. I'm not as high on Humphrey as others, but he has a very high ceiling because of his size (6-foot, 197) and fluidity in coverage. Watkins is capable of developing into a three-down player i…

The wind has completely been taken out of my sails... I'm sure it'll pass, but this loss is one of the most wrenching ones I can ever recall. It just served as a harbringer of "no hope/no future". The Bears destroyed themselves. Bad teams always figure out ways to lose. At least there, we're good at something. We're great at losing. I saw no bright spots. Yeah, the D played good against another horrid O. But everything is sour. Only Briggs played with true passion. He was livid out there. I am mentally planning for the next few years to enjoy the kicking greatness that is Robbie Gould, and watching Lance Briggs tackle. Other than that, I …

  15. Started by adam,

Here is a list of our acquisitions, players re-signed, players lost, and remaining free agents: Free Agent Additions Chase Daniel - QB - knows system and Pace, good pickup Tyler Bray - QB - knows system coming from KC, makes sense Allen Robinson - WR - coming off injury, but ceiling is pretty high, clearly our #1 (about time) Taylor Gabriel - WR - versatile WR, can line up anywhere, will be fun to see with Cohen on the field Trey Burton - TE - not a ton of production for the contract, but upside is there, Burton-Shaheen should be a fun TE Duo. Aaron Lynch - LB - played for Fangio, should be an immediate upgrade Cody Parkey - K - look a real kicker …

The 1985 season, for me, was bliss. That team had the best D ever (IMdO) and Jimmy Mac, when healthy, was dangerous with Sweetness next to him. So, my question is, what would those 1985 Ditka led Beras have to say to the 2018 Naggy led kids? What would Buddy Ryan have to say to Fangio? Would they have wanted the orange jerseys? What would Butt Head tell Parkey? Just to have those guys together and compare, I'd love to be the fly on the wall.

  17. I'm not a huge fan of Hub Arkush int he least. But sometimes, he makes some valid points. Going home yesterday I heard him on the Parkins and McNeil show (kind of painful in it's own right...) Hub mentioned, that he thought having Chase Daniel could actually turn out to be a benefit. He feared a lull in the team given the last 2 wins and the short week. Now, with Daniel in, it's a rallying cry to help the back-up and for everyone to up their game. We will see how it plays out. But, there is some logic to it. I'd still much rather have a healthy Tru. But his availability for the end run is more important than this particular match. Maybe it's high time we fee…

  20. NFL is investigating the FA signings of Saquon and Cousins per shefty. Expecting loss of draft picks - potentially more severe for Falcons vs. Eagles. Some swirling reports that maybe the Giants/Vikings actually pick up the lost picks. Would Falcons lose their 1st rounder (or will it be a lesser pick or a future pick) and beyond that - will Vikings potentially get that pick. Could have major implications on Bears positioning - especially if NFL set a tone and took away #8 pick (I would be shocked - I'm expecting something like a 2nd or 3rd rounder if they wanted to come down hard).
