Because of a previous discussion on this board, I thought about analyzing only the OL during an entire game. It took a second to train my eyes to only watch the OL, and even then it was difficult a few times, but the focus was there 99.9% of the time. I realize everything is subjective in this regard (i.e. scheme, blitzes, pickup responsibilities, etc.) but I tried to focus on what the jobs of the OLinemen were. For instance, in the 17th offensive play in the first half Bell had a great rush pickup; the fact that the defensive player got in without being sniffed is a negative on the OL. Can our two biggest weapons reach 1000 yards? With nine games left Forte has 456 yards rushing.That means he is 564 yards short of 1000. So if we feed him the ball over the next nine games he has to gain at least 62 yards per game. Marshall on the other hand has 575 yards receiving, so he is 325 yards short of 1000. I have a feeling this week will say a lot. I figure it to be redemption or bust. Of course, much of how this will be perceived will be based on whether Cutler plays or not. Hey Ladies and Gents , I will be heading down to training camp in July. I've not been down there in along time. Has anything changed much ? As far as, fields , seating , parking, prices etc. I'm really looking forward to this year.

Hroniss Grasu is now signed, making the Chicago Bears the first team again to get all draft picks under contract. Grasu signed earlier Friday and will compete for the starting Center spot. Great to get this done, Grasu can start taking the reins as he did in Oregon in leading the oline. Kyle Long and Grasu will be a grueling dual for years in the run game. Both are agressive maulers. Great work Cliff Stein once again and great pick Pace.

These are not players you will see drafted in the upper part of the draft. As I read more and more about prospects, this is my view on sleepers. Akem Spence/DT from Illinois- he is athletic, 72 tackles as a senior. a mid round pick that will eventually start in the league. Terry Hawthorne/CB from Illinois- good size, good speed 4.44, 60 tackles, 8 PBUs, 3 int.. I think another Illini prospect that will contribute and could start in a year or two. Gerald Hodges/LB from Penn state-The team leader played really well with 109 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, seven passes broken up, one forced fumble and two interceptions in 2012. I have no idea why he was kept on the staff, but when every Offensive Lineman that leaves improves, there is only one common denominator. I wish this was satire, but somehow guys like Lucas Patrick (who was the worst OL player in the NFL last year magically becomes the best OG in the NFL in one offseason?). Cody Whitehair, who was relegated to the bench in Chicago, is a starting caliber player in LVR. James Daniels was expendable in Chicago and has been one of the cornerstone players on the Pittsburgh O-Line since he left.
