Changes I would make for next yr: 1 - Olsen moves to WR. Let's face it, he cannot block and I don't want to see him try anymore. Thayer was saying Kellen Davis has improved. Keep working with him and draft another blocking TE. 2 - Draft a blocking FB or get the best one on the FA market. They come cheap and can normally play well even at the twilight of their career. McKie is gone. 3 - Sign at least one o-lineman in FA. Not a project but a proven vet that is considered in the top 3 available. Draft 1 to 2 more. Get rid of Pace and get road graters. 4 - Move Williams to LT. Lose Pace. Tell Omiyale he is competing for RT (Do not simply give hi…

"We knew we were going to throw on every down, so that's why we made a switch," Ron Turner said about inserting the larger Omiyale at the end of the game." Omiyale has not just been bad on run downs this year. He has been miserable on passing downs as well. In fact, I actually think he has been worse on passing downs than run downs. So why the hell would we insert Omiyale in there on the final drive when we plan to pass the ball. There was a point in the 2nd quarter when the OL started to play a bit better, but it didn't last long. This OL was a joke. Bears say Pace got the wind knocked out of him, but how stupid does Lovie think we are. Getting the wind…

From PFT, Cutler fined $20,000 for "abusive conduct" Jay Cutler has doled out a lot of abuse of late. He punished Bears fans and fantasy owners with five interceptions Thursday night, not to mention viewers tuning in to Thursday Night Football looking for a quality game. Now he's been fined $20,000 for "abusive conduct" toward a game official in Chicago's loss to the Cardinals five days ago, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Cutler was flagged during the game for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty when he complained to referee Ed Hochuli about a non-call on a fourth-and-4 in the third quarter in which Cutler thought Greg Olsen was held. Se…

Why was he longsnapping to Cutler's shoes all night long? I'm convinced it was the cause of one of the turnovers... He is a shell of his former self.

I believe one of cutlers problems is he does not pump the ball. I've always got on the Bear's qb for not pumping the ball. P.Manning does it up to 3 times a play sometimes I'm always see Big Ben do it, Farve,Brees and many other do it consistantly. I believe 2 red zone ints could of went for td's if he'd pump it once.I know our line sucks, but there are times where I'm yelling at cutler to pump the damn ball,it works, it works, it works. It's all the little chit that seems to not be tought that pisses me off. I can hadle mistakes, but the little things that never seem to be a fixture just irritate me. I talked about a few of them the other day ago here but do not want to r…

I just am... He's a failure. Here's PIT's last 6 drafts: 2008 - 1st - Mendenhall - looks to be very good with lots of upside if he can stop fumbling (The guy I wanted the Bears to draft) 2007 - 1st Timmons, 2nd Woodley - great D starters 2006 - 1st Santonio Holmes - pro bowl type guy (Also got T Colon in the 4th) 2005 - 1st - Heath Miller (one of the best TE's in the league) 2004 - 1st - Big Ben - 'nuff said (also OT Starks taken in the 3rd) 2003 - 1st - Polamalu - best S since Lott OK, mayb they got lucky, but when you compare ours (I don't need to put it up), it's just garbage. Until Angelo goes, we will be mediocre....

The wind has completely been taken out of my sails... I'm sure it'll pass, but this loss is one of the most wrenching ones I can ever recall. It just served as a harbringer of "no hope/no future". The Bears destroyed themselves. Bad teams always figure out ways to lose. At least there, we're good at something. We're great at losing. I saw no bright spots. Yeah, the D played good against another horrid O. But everything is sour. Only Briggs played with true passion. He was livid out there. I am mentally planning for the next few years to enjoy the kicking greatness that is Robbie Gould, and watching Lance Briggs tackle. Other than that, I …

These are some players, who I believe use to be with us,who are starting somewhere else and for the most part are doing pretty good. John st Clair, Casey Wigeman, Mark Columbo, Gandy, Berrian, Benson, Thomas Jones, Tank Johnson, Orton and there might be more. I was just thinking the other day what we had and what we have now. Also we used to have the best return man in the history of the NFL (Hester) and still have him,but man do I miss what he used to do. To me it seems that our players under the L.Smith regime (how do I say this) have a lot of say so, are not disiplined enough, can tell the coach who they like on the team and who they don't like, have no urgency in games w…

in the last two weeks we have been man handled twice won a game that felt more like a loss than a win. where do we begin putting humpty dumpty back together.... I honestly don't know where to begin. Let's face this is a wreck of a team. When Lovie took over we had a strong defense and no offense. Over his time here his staff took over a talented defense and rode that to a Super Bowl. Now that that D has declined and an offense crippled by poor offensive line play, poor play calling, poor execution. An overall team attitude of a team that has no heart, no discipline, outside of a few players I don't see a lot worth saving. 1. I have to ask as they were…

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/10/om...nch_having.html Per the stats, our OL has only given up 11 sacks, which ranks right at the middle of the league. Everyone has talked about how solid Denver's OL is, and yet Orton has been sacked only two fewer times than Cutler. So that must mean our OL is average in pass protection, right? Further, that stats show Omiyale has only given up a 1/2 sack this season. That sounds pretty dang good. Omiyale must be an upper tier OG, right? Kind of cracks me up. One stat I would be curious about is how many QB pressures and QB hits each OL has given up.

I got to thinking that the Bears need lots of help on both sides of the ball. That requires draft picks. The Bears have none. So, which player(s) would you trade - in a realistic scenario - that could potentially bring the Bears a windfall of picks, and set them up for possible future success? Jay Cutler Lance Briggs Tommie Harris Devin Hester I think that's it. I think those are the only guys who can return something in free agency. Jay isn't going anywhere. Neither is Lance. Tommie is soured now, and might not be worth as much. And I think Devin is a little overvalued for the Bears, and wouldn't be worth as much on the FA market now that he c…

Would anyone be able to record tonight's game and send a DVD? I don't get NFL Network but would like to be able to see the game. I would be willing to pay for any costs and the effort to do it. Would greatly appreciate it

Will Tommie H. play tonight,or is he out because of what he did? If he is playing i wonder if he will go out with something to prove. I HOPE he comes out with some fire,it might just happen. With everybody seeing what he did on tv and his decline in play and many wanting to get rid of him,he might play his ass off. Plus what Vernon Davis said. It will be interesting.

New coordinator hasn't improved Lovie's defense Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 12, 2009 6:09 PM ET Since losing to the Colts in the Super Bowl three years ago, the Bears have defined mediocrity. They have won 20 games, lost another 20, and tried out three starting quarterbacks before landing Jay Cutler. The rotating signal callers have distracted attention from Chicago's biggest problem: Lovie Smith's defense isn't very good. The unit was below average in 2007 and 2008. With practically the same personnel back this season, Smith's big gamble this offseason was to appoint himself defensive coordinator. He was counting on coaching rather than player…

Just thinking out loud here, but Harris missed two games this year. He missed one game when the staff benched him, and another yesterday after his bone headed move. The two games Harris missed happened to also be our two most humiliating losses of the season. Now, when I have watched, I have seen VERY little from Harris. At the same time, I do have to step back and ask. Is his presence more important to this defense than we want to admit?

With the latest issue with LJ and the Chiefs it is highly possible that he could be avaiable and a change of senery could do him well. I think LJ and Forte would make a nice rotation. Would you trade Harris for LJ?.

From PFT, Vernon Davis expects to "destroy" Bears defensive front Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 10, 2009 9:13 PM ET Like a lot of folks that have watched the Chicago Bears play football in recent weeks, 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is not impressed with what he sees. Unlike most of those folks, Davis has to play football against the Bears Thursday. And you can be sure they will remember his words from this week. "I think we can destroy their front,'' Davis said. "The guys up front, I think we can destroy them. I don't see anything spectacular about their front line." The Bears are 23rd in sacks and 22nd in points allowed on defense. Whil…
