So in the last 3 games, Roquan has 30 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 INT, and 1 PD. This is an All-Pro stat line. This corresponds with the 3 games that Trevathan has missed. Roquan has really stepped up. The storyline is going to get interesting this week as some speculation earlier in the season was that Roquan was having some issues with the Bears throwback jerseys. Well, this upcoming week, the Bears will go back to those throwbacks, so we will see if we can rule that out once and for all. Hopefully we do. The Bears needed Roquan to be a top 10 pick and he is delivering. We are also getting great play out of Kwit filling in for Trevathan. He will come in h…

In the draft I preferred Edmunds over Smith but after watching this video on Smith's background I understand better why we went in this direction. If we consider the on-the-field abilities relatively equal, even if Edmunds and Smith are different types of players, then the leadership qualities and work ethic Smith has will put him in position to become the new leader of our defense. https://www.chicagobears.com/video/meet-the-rookies-roquan-smith

Thought it might be good to have an official thread, where we can post some videos and quotes that come out, now that he's officially a Bear. Excited to have him and hope he turns into one of the next great Bears LB'ers. Below is a good video clip I saw elsewhere highlighting some of his plays. Below is a clip of a detailed film study on him:

He might be my favorite Bear on the present team. He's a mad man that still does a lot, that is not really mentioned/observed.

It was frustrating watching Kwiatkoski chasing helplessly after Packers' receivers play after play. Seattle's Oline has issues and we should be able to get pressure early and often on Wilson which means he'll be scrambling. Smith's speed is a must have.

He was the biggest story during the preseason, and is almost the forgotten defender 6 games in. He is 2nd on the team in tackles, but I haven't seen him put a complete, dominant game together yet. He was supposed to be the ball hawk tackling machine, yet there have only been a couple of standout plays to date. What do you think the issue is? Lack of reps in preseason, Fangio?

Good fit for him and good draft picks in exchange. Reportedly a 2nd and 5th. Good move by our GM. I

Zach Zaidman ‏@ZachZaidman 2m2 minutes ago #Bears signed TE Dante Rosario to a one-year contract. I'm cool with it, was hoping for a better #2, and I suppose that's still possible.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...sive-line-help/ The Bears should still be looking for offensive line help Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 2, 2011, 5:51 PM EDT Getty ImagesThe Bears poked around the offensive line free agent market over the last week without acquiring any tackles. They have moved J’Marcus Webb to left tackle and rookie Gabe Carimi has reportedly looked like he belongs at right tackle. They are also trying to replace Olin Kreutz at center, where they say new pickup Chris Spencer will have to earn a starting job. Yes, the Bears offensive line remains a big concern. Yes, it sounds like they are still looking for he…

The Bears have signed practice squad RB Armando Allen to their active roster. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. they also placed RB Lorenzo Booker on IR and waived LB Patrick Trahan.

Now that the draft is complete and the Bears have added a handful of playmakers this offseason, there still are a few voids I thought may be been addressed but have not. I suspect they may keep a close eye on the players cut/waivers and maybe bring in more UDFA's. If not filled this season, it will be priorities for next. OT - Unless Morgan plays OT, it seems we are light going into camp here. This position will be thinner at years end also because Massie's contract will expire. I thought it might be a position they filled in the draft this year and was watching for Tyrell Crosby. As of now, this has to be in consideration for the 1st RD pick in 2019. Taylor Lew…
