  2. Started by jason,

I don't care if there are 22 players on defense, you don't make that call in that situation. The Bears were up by two, had a slight edge in momentum, and basically gave a field goal away. To be quite honest, the Bears defense - minus one play - did a great job tonight. With one Cutler INT leading to what amounted to a two yard "TD drive" by the Packers, and the fake punt leading to a gimme field goal, it's a game the Bears should have won. They put in the requisite effort, but the offense shit the bed and is almost completely responsible for the loss. Not a great start, but there is definitely a silver lining to all of this. If the Bears' O, ST, and coachi…

Troy Polamalu on Madden 2010 Cover, gets hurt in first game of the season. Ouch. We play the Steelers in Week 2, and that is a huge loss for them if he is out (and a plus for us). EDIT: Steelers coach Mike Tomlin indicated after Thursday's game that SS Troy Polamalu was initially diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his left knee. There's nothing "concrete" yet on Polamalu's injury, and Tomlin admitted that it could be more serious. Expect the All Pro to be sidelined for at least 3-6 weeks. - Rotoworld

  8. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/...any-other-team/ I think we're going to see if there's a need exposed tomorrow night (WR, DB, etc) and then we're going to start using it to extend our guys. Thoughts?

  9. Started by jason,

#1 - It looked like Clark gave an inside juke when Cutler was rolling out, so Cutler threw it to lead for THAT route. Oops. Clark went the other way. #2 - That's just a great play by a packer DL. #3 - It looked like the WR (who?) gave an inside juke when Cutler was rolling out, so Cutler threw it to lead for THAT route. Oops. Clark went the other way. #4 - Forced throw by Cutler. He was trying to win the game by himself, and he shouldn't have thrown it. So, I'd say that's 2/4. Sure, we could take away the second INT because it was simply an unreal play by the defensive player, but we could also give Cutler one or two that the Packers dropped. Not a g…

oh, that's right. it ended 2 weeks ago. this entire game was just one stupid situation after the next. the entire team including the coaches looked like they just met for the first time before playing their first pre-season game tonight. someone asked in another post what we were going to do with our extra $15 mil? i'm for buying mike shannahan to start out as our offensive coordinator. then buy a freaking cornerback who can play bump and run defense, an offensive guard or two and if any is left over buy lovie a clue. hmmmm should i make a stupid situation worse than it is lovie? HELL YESS!!! throw a flag without even talking to the replay people in yo…

Not even going to mention all the bad things in this game but a few good things I noticed were. - Ogunleye is playing like he wants a new contract - Tillman looked pretty good for his first action of the season - Johnny Knox looks to be a weapon at different times throughout the game - Hester looked like a #1 receiver.

  15. Started by GrizzlyBear,

Just take a deep breath and play your game man. He defiantley had the jitters.

  16. Started by bowlingtwig,

Just read in this in the Chicago Tribune today. "Rookie defensive end Henry Melton, placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury, didn't look too banged up as he jogged to the practice field to watch his teammates."

  17. Started by BearFan PHX,

I'm sure someone else must have noted it earlier, but I was just making a roster spreadsheet for the game tonight, and I saw that 6 drafted rookies made the squad, which is pretty good. Good for Angelo! WR Juaquin Iglesias, WR Johnny Knox, OG Lance Lewis, DT Jarron Gilbert, S Al Afalava, CB DJ Moore Go Bears tonight.

NFL Network can really get under your skin sometimes. I swear if i have to listen to one more analysis of God's other son (Aaron rodgers) im gonna puke. Preseason is a joke, ok so throw a bunch of TDs against milk base defenses, wonderful. Jamie Dukes and even my man Mike Mayock let me down all this week with the lovefest. This goes beyond any rivalry week, i have never hated the packers as much as the vikings, Ill admit, But i seriously want our guys to anilate these toothless cheese clowns on national television. I hope Cutler throws 300 and 3TDs just so they shutup. Dom Capers is apparently a desciple of Rodgers cuz now their defense is wonderful as well. Its getting a…

  19. From PFT: League's reaction to StarCaps ruling focuses on disparity Posted by Mike Florio on September 11, 2009 4:23 PM ET In the wake of Friday's decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit that Saints defensive ends Charles Grant and Will Smith will be suspended for taking StarCaps and Vikings defensive tackles Pat and Kevin Williams won't, the NFL's reaction centers on the obvious differences in treatment, and the union's role in letting it happen. "The real losers today are the players on 31 other clubs," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said via e-mail, "who no longer live under the same rules as players on the Minnesota Vikings -- a resu…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3484075.story "If the Bears' defensive front four appears to be in a crooked alignment Sunday night, don't adjust your television. It is supposed to look that way. Having a couple of the defensive linemen in a cocked position -- usually the interior linemen -- is just one of the minor tweaks assistant head coach Rod Marinelli has implemented since taking over the defensive line." ************************************************************************** Maybe I was drinking too much during the games but I don't recall our DTs lining up this way during the preseason, at least not routinely. If I'm wrong so…
