Take it FWIW, but McShay has the Bears taking Hightower at 19 OVER Coples who goes #20. McShay states in the opening paragraph he based his final picks on talking to scouts/personel around the league.....for him to predict Hightower over Coples to the Bears is surprising. I will say this- I want Emery to draft who he wants and not who Lovie/Tice/Marinelli want. If he feels Hightower can be Urlacher's eventual successor then let Emery do his job and make that pick.

Between all the injuries (Goldman), suspensions (Freeman), he had little competition for this award but he is still well deserving of it. In fact even moreso because he was often the main threat for an offense to stop and he still produced. We need to use some of our cap space to sign him long term this offseason. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...9b-214afc006dd2

I do this topic each year. Here's my nightmare draft: 1. Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio St - With Fuller, Prince, Cooper, and LeBlanc, I don't think it's really a big problem. There are much bigger holes at S, T, and DE. And there are much better players available at two of those positions. 2. Carl Lawson, DE/OLB, Auburn - A tweener who has some eye-opening physical abilities and traits. I'll hate this pick, and any other tweener like him. 3. Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami - Lots of QBs go in 1st round, nothing happens in the 2nd, and the Bears make a nervous reach for a guy who won't be good. 4. Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU - WR with measurables but doesn't know how to use …

Here is what I want, and I'm being completely serious. 4th-Pick Desmond King. If he's not available, which is likely, I want to double down on OT. Sharpe, Davenport, Johnson. Pick 2 of 3. 5th-Ryan Switzer, WR, UNC. Seriously. I've been singing his praises for months. Great possession WR. Unguardable. Fearless returner. Trubisky' favorite target. 6th-If King was there in round 4, pick Chad Wheeler, OT, USC. Otherwise, Draft secondary. Kazee still available? 7th-Chad Kelly-Hey, Glennon is obviously gone after this year.

Okay, w/ all the negative criticism, I wanted to mention a few players I thought had a pretty good game. You know how I am a glass half full guy and can't stand all this pessimism Offense Forte - Lets start w/ the obvious. I thought this may have been his best game. Sure, he may have had others w/ better stats, but they were against cream puff defenses. Here, he faced an elite defense, and had a solid day rushing, and a great day receiving. That TD catch was a freaking thing of beauty. OL in general, but Beekman and Kreutz specific. Sure, Rex faced pressure, but there were many downs he seemed to have plenty of time. Add to that how we were able to …

IMHO the reason the 2008 Bears didn't make the playoffs was because of coaching or the lack of it.With all the moving of players to different positions, using schemes to put the LB'S at the line, schemes to use your corners in the bail instead of jam off the line, squip kicks, playing too deep at the end of the game with 6 seconds left, going for it on fourth and one by handing off to the fullback, not using Olsen,Clark & Davis(TE) in the red zone, running Forte bewteen the tackles 80% of the time and not outside more. Not using Hester/Wolfe on the little underneath screens to get them out in space. Trying to throw deep with Orton who was either throwing the ball too …

I was a little concerned (at first) about Fields' demeanor in the interviews. He seemed sullen, not smiling. I thought "damn maybe he isnt happy here" So I checked out other interviews with him, and found this one after winning the Sugar Bowl with a huge performance. He's the same. Serious, joyless. Kind of intense. If he was a game show host, I wouldn't love it. He might not be selling insurance anytime soon. But he is a tough guy, hard worker, and he seems very serious about everything. Constrast that with Mitch's goofiness, and I am not at all unhappy. I just think, as we watch him, it's good to have some context in which to evaluate his demeanor. Im not…

I'd LOVE to have him as our offensive coordinator. In 2010 when he was the OC in Carolina, they ranked #7 on offense. He's currently working as a special assistant in Indy. It will be interesting to see if they let us interview him.

Texans and Arian Foster reached agreement on a five-year, $43.5 million deal that includes $20.75 million guaranteed. per Shefter I think this is what Forte would be looking for.

The Bears signed Maurice Jones a CB, kind find much about him, but is a rookie, UDFA player. They did this after Dropping Andre Fluellen/DT back to the old drawing board with the DT position.

I think it's clear that he has to go. To me, it seems almost as if he has lost the locker room, and that he's been way too soft on the players. Not only were our players getting tossed around like rag dolls today, they showed no emotion and no heart. I place that directly on the HC. It's obvious he hasn't been doing a good job and the D was more successful under Ron Rivera. Change is needed and I'm all for it. While I would fire Lovie and the whole coaching staff, I would keep Angelo for at least 2 more years. As for who I would hire as a replacement for Lovie, it would likely be Cowher (if he wanted to return to the NFL). I like Spagnola, but it looks like he has p…

Source: Bears add QB Teel By Jeff Dickerson ESPNChicago.com Archive CHICAGO -- Working with only three quarterbacks for most of the offseason, the Bears opted to add another arm before reporting to training camp next week, agreeing to terms on a deal with free agent Mike Teel, a league source confirmed Tuesday night. The news was first reported by the Bergen Record. After a productive collegiate career at Rutgers, Teel was drafted in the sixth round by Seattle in 2009, and spent last season as the Seahawks' No. 3 quarterback. Teel, who did not play last year, was cut by Seattle in May and claimed off waivers by New England. The quarterback lasted only thr…

IMHO We need to get at least one of these guys for our Defense. I think the corner Asomugha would be the best fit to take Vashers spot if we are going to let him go or try to make the team next year. Pappers would be nice but the tag is just too much. Leftwich needs to resign with the Steelers. Raiders | Asomugha does not want to be franchised Sun, 01 Feb 2009 14:26:30 -0800 Jason Jones, of the Sacramento Bee, reports Oakland Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha, who is an impending free agent, does not want the Raiders to play franchise tag on him this offseason. Not even going to mention all the bad things in this game but a few good things I noticed were. - Ogunleye is playing like he wants a new contract - Tillman looked pretty good for his first action of the season - Johnny Knox looks to be a weapon at different times throughout the game - Hester looked like a #1 receiver.
