Bearstalk

Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. I keep hearing the rumblings about the Titans taking Mariota #2. If they do, I wonder what they would want for Mettenberger? I would prefer him to pretty much any QB left in the draft, and he's the kind of big, strong-armed, pocket passer I would think Fox/Gase would prefer (see Brock Osweiler). If we don't think Cutler is long for this team, I wonder if it would be worth trading a draft pick for Mettenberger as a Cutler contingency plan and QB of the future. He was a 6th rounder last year (5 spots in front of Fales), but you can't get him for that now. I guess this hinges on how the new regime feels about Fales, but it seems like something that would be worth a call…

I don't recall seeing these being posted, so I thought I'd pass them along. The first is from Aaron Leming, who has broken some of the Bears signings over the summer. The second is from Adam Hoge from WGN. I'm personally a MUCH bigger fan of the first than the second, but would be interested in hearing others' opinions. http://chi.scout.com/story/1534330-bears-s...ound-mock-draft http://wgnplus.com/2015/04/07/hoge-2015-be...mock-draft-3-0/

I was thinking about the uncertainty of our draft, and wondered if you guys would rather see, if it happened, an all offense draft or all defense draft? For instance: 1 - Amari Cooper, WR, Bama 2 - Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon 3 - Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA 4 - Reese Dismukes, C, Auburn 5 - Shaquille Mason, G, Georgia Tech 6 - Dominique Brown, RB, Louisville OR 1 - Vic Beasley, DE/OLB, Clemson 2 - Shaq Thompson, ILB, Washington 3 - Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon 4 - Derron Smith, S, Fresno State 5 - Joey Mbu, NT, Houston 6 - Deshazor Everett, CB, Texas A&M Try to make one semi-acceptable. It's tough.

  7. This is the most optimistic view I have seen out of the national media. Now I remain realistic and slightly pessimistic (especially with the schedule). My projection is more in the 7-9 win range, but 10 would have us on the cusp of the playoffs. So what do you think? Can Fox/Gase/Fangio and Pace double the Bears win total in one offseason? http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...80-b4b49994f214

  8. Was up with my crying daughter in the middle of the night, so this was how I passed the time and thought I would share. I think I'm getting to the point where I'm getting a pretty good idea of where I see value and how I'd like to see the draft progress, not that it ever actually goes that way . . . 1) Kevin White, WR, West Virginia - I remain a WR at #7 guy and would prefer White over Cooper by a hair, but I figure only one will be there any way. 2) Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon - An upgrade over Jordan Mills, who regressed last season, is sorely needed, and he can start at RT out of the gate and then move to LT whenever cutting Bushrod makes sense. **trade down in …

The draft goes: 1. Winston 2. Williams 3. Fowler 4. White 5. Beasley 6. Ray Mariota is there at 7 and Chip Kelly comes calling. He offers his 1st (20), his 2nd (52), and something next year to move up. Pace happily accepts. 1.20- Landon Collins, S, Alabama 2.39- Eddie Goldman, NT, FSU 2.52- Bernardrick McKinney, ILB, MSU 3-Hronis Grassu, C, Oregon 4-Sean Mannion, QB, Oregon St. 5-Shaquille Mason, OG, GT 6-Jamison Crowder, WR, Duke 7-Deshazor Everett, CB, TX A&M

Is there any way for us to have a draft that everyone would like? First premise: We'd all like a trade-down if possible. Solution: Mariota falls, Chip Kelly trades up. Eagles send: 1.20, 2.52, 2016 2nd rd pick Bears sent: 1.7 Now the Bears have a mid/late 1st rounder, two 2nd round picks, and a 2016 2nd. In my last mock I proposed the following: 2015 MOCK DRAFT 1.0 1.20- Landon Collins, S, Alabama 2.39- Eddie Goldman, NT, FSU 2.52- Bernardrick McKinney, ILB, MSU 3-Hronis Grassu, C, Oregon 4-Sean Mannion, QB, Oregon St. 5-Shaquille Mason, OG, GT 6-Jamison Crowder, WR, Duke Problem 1-AZ54 doesn't like McKinney, and woul…

Killing time watching some video of safeties and figured I'd share my thoughts. Collins of course is a good player just don't think he's worthy of a top 10 pick. If we pick a safety I don't think it will happen until Rd 3 at the earliest and likely on day 3. I just watch some games on Draft Breakdown and read profiles. I'm off the Damarius Randall (ASU) bandwagon. He has good athleticism and coverage skills but he's soft and misses too many tackles. The number one skill I want from a safety is the ability to tackle. Mike Brown was slow but you knew if it was just him back there he'd make the tackle. Jacquiski Tartt…Samford. For his size/speed combi…

With the draft coming up, I thought this might be a good "catch-all" thread for people's favorite or least favorite prospects, or things they've noticed, low round prospects who are underrated, player comparisons, etc. All I know is what I read and what I see on YouTube and Draft Breakdown clips, but: - I don't see a ton of difference in tape and measurements between 1/2 round pick Nelson Agholar, and mid/late round WR Kenny Bell from Nebraska. - I mentioned this in the Safeties thread, but I like Kysheon Jarrett from VT as a late round safety/rover. He reminds me some of Antoine Bethea and seems to cover well in the slot from what I've seen. - Everyone wants …
