This is a surprise signing for me. It definitely gives Nagy some options when calling plays. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1105609284795154433

Floyd IMO is still ascending. I think with his body type we'll see that for a couple more years as he gains strength. The decision on his 5th year option is due this offseason and with all the things he does well I don't see anyway we can let him go after next season. So we're likely paying him the 5th year option which I believe is worth around $13-15mil. I'd rather see if we can work out a 3 or 4yr extension and since he doesn't have elite sack numbers try to keep him for around $8-10mil/yr. He's a good player but not elite in any category and his injury history mucks up the negotiating waters. If he's here for 4 more years (3 yr extension) he's just 30 when…

The Bears signed a ILB Kevin Pierre-Lewis. He has ties to new ILB coach Mark DeLeone. He played for the Jets last year. He played under DeLeone in 2017. 6'1 236 lbs. had a 4.51 40 at his draft class. My question, would they leave him on the roster and cut someone like Nick Kwiatkoski or Joel IGGY ? As they look for special team players, I see them keeping 8 LBs . 4 in and 4 O. Curious why they make this move other than for ST type of situation.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000047...agents-for-2015 Tier 1: Difference-makers 1. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Detroit Lions: Outside of quarterbacks and the two unanimous All-Pros (J.J. Watt, Rob Gronkowski), Suh and Odell Beckham are the two unique talents around whom we would most like to build a franchise. A double-team defeater against the run as well as the pass, Suh is on a Hall-of-Fame career path. Suh is likely to hit free agency after the Lions chose not to use the franchise tag on him. 2. Devin McCourty, S, New England Patriots: The converted cornerback is not only one of the NFL's best coverage safeties, but also a respected leader on the Super Bo…

that really surprised me, I thought he still had get up and go. His worth to Houston was minimal and they let him go, Thought everyone needed a pass rusher. well goes to show his better days are behind him.

I too would like to see quite a bit of this given the talent we now have at TE. That includes Brown should we decide to trade Miller, although I lean towards keeping 4 TEs on the roster. http://bearswire.usatoday.com/2017/05/25/b...end-formations/ The mix of TE talent we have, along with Howard on the field behind a good run blocking Oline (you know it's true), puts a defense in a quandary. Now if we only had a QB talented enough to roll out and throw on the run, or just run.

It's been said many times in many forms this year already...but dang! I am just so happy with the direction this team is going! They are good and likable! Who knows what the playoffs has in store and how the team performs. All I know, is I like our chances this round, and feel we have more than a "puncher's chance" if we are able to progress. This is simply fun to watch! This is all free dessert with the meal! Cheers and Bear Down!

Assume Bears, Seahawks (vs STL), Panthers (at ATL), and Saints (vs TB) win. That leaves 2 games to deciding the seeding for the NFC. SEA and CAR would finish 1-2. PHI at DAL SF at ARZ If SF and PHI win (favorites): NO at PHI and SF at CHI 4 If ARZ and DAL win (home teams/underdogs): SF at CHI 3 and NO at DAL If SF and DAL win: NO at CHI 3 and SF at DAL If ARZ and PHI win: SF at PHI and NO at CHI 4 So to me, the best matchup is NO in Chicago, and that would only happen in the last 2 scenarios. If all favorites win, we get SF. A crazy scenario is if SEA somehow loses (possible but unlikely), they could drop all the way to th…

This mock has the Bears going Donald, Joyner, McGill. That is 2 DBs and one DT in first 3. Ilike Donald and McGill but Joyner in RD 2 doesn't excite me.

http://m.espn.go.com/general/story?storyId...amp;src=desktop If you read article it does come off as Brown being salty that Trestman made Rice the Number 1 WR in Oakland instead of him. This quote from the article is what seems to becoming true "He's a really smart guy, knows football like the back of his hand. That's not the issue," Brown said. "But there's a lot more to coaching than just X's and O's. You have to be able to deal with players and that's the reason [former Raiders coach] Bill Callahan hasn't succeeded as a head coach because he's a smart guy, knows football like the back of his hand, but when it comes to leading me, it's a totally di…

  18. Below is a screenshot of the lowest separation of skill position players through 1st 2 weeks of the season (no qualifiers applied). Bears have 3 of the top 5. I don't know whether the QB decisions play into the separation or if this is a pure stat - but not even the best QB's can consistently deal with this many people NOT getting open. All of these parties need to step it up - the really scary one is Miller - he is supposed to be more electric at getting open; Robinson has always had less separation than the league but made up for it with fundamental awesomeness.
