Apparently Marcus Freeman has an enlarged heart, just like Gaines Adams did. His EKG at the Combine was abnormal, so he got a second one. The Bears' doctors either didn't catch his heart condition or didn't think it was a problem (the article doesn't specify,) but when Freeman went to the Colts for a tryout, their doctors said he couldn't safely continue playing. Seriously, I know that awareness of cardiomyopathy among NFL players is just starting to increase, and that these kinds of conditions can be hard to catch in athletes, but it's pretty inexcusable for the Bears' doctors to have missed the diagnosis on both Adams and Freeman. Stanford Routt was cut by the Radiers to save money. The Bears need to sign this guy and cut Bowman and Jennings. Routt is 6'1 195lbs and runs a 4.3 40 yard dash. He is clearly better than either Jennings or Bowman. Also he is a cover guy.....meaning he can cover WR'S and not just let them run free.

Over my many years of watching Bears football I have had some real highs and a whole lotta lows but when it comes to me spiking the Bears cap on the ground or chucking it at the tube one player made me sicker than anyone when I watched his constant miscues. When I left training camp this summer I was preaching gloom and doom! The team started to win some unexpected games and I got false hope because what I forgot to remember was that depth after starters was going to be a problem. Jeremey Langford also made me forget because he looks like the future at RB. Facts: 1. The Bears need QB, LT, CB, S, DE, WR, TE 2. This is a very weak QB draft. 3. This is a very weak OL draft. Kiper and McShay agree (on QB too). 4. Myles Garrett will be gone when the Bears pick. 5. When the Bears pick there will likely be a choice of the leftover QB (Kizer or Trubinsky), Leonard Fournette, and Marshon Lattimore, besides two Alabama players (Jonathan Allen / Cam Robinson). We need to look at the overall off-season to see what Poles has accomplished this year. Got the best coach on the market and spent good money on assistants. Added to both lines with quality additions. Added contracts for Gordon and Jackson who were on last years. The draft gave us 4 quality players in the first 4 picks. 2 potential all pro types and 2 first year contributors. The rest of the draft gave us high risk high upside players. I'm doing this to see just where everyone is at in terms how they view the Bears' WRs. I go back to the 60's and have actually saw Johnny Morris play but taking him out of the equation I'm hard pressed to find a guy who I could say is second to Morris. We have had tandems or individuals that have had great seasons but if you twist my arm here is where I would go with rankings after Morris: 1 Dennis McKinnon he was a smaller version of Hines Ward and would block just as good as he would catch the ball. 2. I don't have a clue what the game plan must have been but if my starting RB (Forte) has 18 yards on his first 2 carries and had 205 last season against the same team the last time we played them,why not call his number until they stop him that first drive was a thing of beauty with him scoring the TD to finish the drive. At the half he was averaging 6.4 yards a carry. So IMO those sacks in the first half are not 100% on the OL and Cutler, I put them on Tice. There's a lot of mention of "fire sale",etc...and I'm not sure that's the case. A few have mentioned here that we simply got rid of and got something for guys that weren't working out for us. If we see Bennett or Forte moved, then I think we're in a full scale youth movement. Until that happens, I think the regime stays their course. Well....this is the question that lurks in all of our minds... We have all suffered through defeats and losses...waiting since 1985/1986 for a Super Bowl..... So...what say you, learned friends, about how we will do this year? One can never predict injury....but. I say, if we stay injury free, or relatively, we will definitely be NFC Champs.
