Could we get so lucky that the Lions would hire him... LOL!! I know not a chance, but honestly it sounds like something that sad organization would do..

Well, this was my chance to get to see the bears live. I should have stayed home and read a book. Anyway, some comments, Offense - Honestly, I am surprised we were able to score at all. If you all think they look bad on TV, you really do not want to see them live. Houston does not exactly have an all-pro defense. Heck, they don't have a good one. They have a couple good players, but overall, are not a good D. Yet we made them look great. OL - Holy crap were they bad. Tait and St.Clair were getting blown up. Whether w/ speed of pure bull rush, Houston's DEs were getting penetration all day. Also noticed how much Houston moved Mario Williams around. Nev…

Tell us who you like on this list and how they fit the bears needs or what role they could have? http://www.footballsfuture.com/freeagents.html 2009 NFL Free Agents By: Greg Davis Top Quarterbacks Kurt Warner, UFA, Arizona Cardinals The former MVP and Super Bowl winner is having a resurgent season in Arizona. He has 3,155 yards passing through ten games, having thrown 20 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. He has also posted a passer rating of 105.5. His yardage total is second in all of the NFL, while his touchdown total is second in the league and the passer rating is easily tops in the game. Warner will be looking for an extension from …

I just got to thinking about how poorly Orton throws the long-ball, and how it affects the overall offense. That made me think, "What would Devin Hester's stats look like if he had a QB who could throw the long ball?" -Lee Evans, who does nothing but catch the long-ball it seems, really benefitted from JP Losman throwin the longball. Insert Trent Edwards and the longball disappears. -Remember what Randy Moss looked like with Daunte Culpepper? -Remember how Marcus Robinson made Cade McNown look like a decent QB because the one pass Cade seemed to throw well was the rainbow deep ball? Devin Hester finished the year with 45 catches, 580 yards, and 3 TDs. Sup…

So I'm sitting here watching Darren Sproles rip Denver a new A-hole, and I wonder aloud to myself, "Why don't the Bears give Garrett Wolfe a chance? He's essentially the same type of player as Darren Sproles. Yet, they worked Forte to the ground this year and gave the left over carries to Adrian Peterson for some reason." Wolfe 5'7" 177lbs 5136 rushing yards in college (three years) 4.39 forty at his pro-day Sproles 5'6" 181lbs 4979 rushing yards in college (three years and change) 4.47 forty at the combine I sure hope Turner can get even the slightest bit creative next year and figure a way to get Wolfe into the game. Watching Sproles destr…

Post your dream draft. Don't make it completely unrealistic, but allow yourself to dream about the what-ifs that happen every year in the NFL draft. Here's my dream draft: 1-16: Duke Robinson, OG, OU (I don't mix words. The Bears need OL, and with an improved OL the rest of the offensive players will be better, including the WRs that everyone seems to hate.) 2-48: Phil Loadholt, OT, OU (With the OG position taken care of, the Bears still need at the very least a OT, if not another OG. Getting Duke's teammate would be huge.) 3-81: Mark Sanchez, QB, USC (Projected as a 2nd to 3rd rounder, this would be perfect for the Bears. If Bradford, Stafford, Tebow, a…

Not sure how it works with teams with worse records making the playoffs, but the Bears shouldn't be to much lower than the 16th pick. Here's what I'd like to see them draft. 1-16 Everette Brown DE FSU Bears sack totals have fallen off the charts and without pressure on the QB, this defense just will not work. Oguneleye has never lived up to his Miami days and will most likely be cut leaving a Brown/Brown combo at DE. 2-48 Phil Loadholdt OT OU With St. Clair's contract expiring, the Bears draft Loadholdt just in case St. Clair signs else where. John Tait, on the other hand didn't step up like expected when the Bears shifted him from the LT side to th…

I'd like to see the coordinators given the axe, with people brought in to bring in new ideas. Lovie seems like a guy everyone likes, and has had success, but there are definitely changes needed.

Noots’ Notes-Game 16: 31-24 Loss at Houston By Michael Nudo The Bears (9-7) saw their playoff hopes go down the drain as the Houston Texans (8-8) exposed the weaknesses in the Bears’ defense 31-24. The pivotal sequence was a blown coverage by Danieal Manning for a touchdown followed by Manning’s fumble of the ensuing kickoff. The Bears were unable to cling to an early 10-0 lead. The Texans wanted it more than the Bears (AP Photo/Dave Einsel). OFFENSE Quarterback Kyle Orton (22-37-244, 2 TD, 2/2, TD) finished the season on a positive note. This wasn’t by any means a great performance but it was pretty good, and had few mistakes. Most importan…

It seems that the coaching staff has decided that Olsen is a mismatch in certain situations, and those are the situations in which he'll be used. However, they have yet to explore the type of routes I saw Owen Daniels use against the Bears today. Like a person first learning how to play chess, Turner sticks with what has worked before, seemingly never learning from his mistakes. Frankly, I'm amazed that any team in the league doesn't know that when the Bears are near the goal-line they are planning on spreading out Olsen and throwing either the jump-ball, fade, or slant to him simply because he is taller. The Texans' DBs showed today that taller is not all you nee…

I am in a little disbelief that you guys are giving Orton another free pass and essentially crowning him our starter for years to come. Yes, he had a good first few games, but ever since his injury he has been very poor. He is incapable of throwing a deep ball. We cant stretch the field with him. Teams next year will simply play the saftey closer to the line and completely shut off his strength being the show passing game. You cant teach arm strength. He doesnt have "it", never will. Kyle missed at least 5 deep balls today to open receivers. That could have been the difference in the game. Today, contrary to popular belief, I felt he was bad…

Everyone is pissed we blew it and all, and this team definitely needs a lot of work, but here's a look at some of the bright spots from the season... 1.) We won 9 games: Yes, we blew 3 games early in the season and we could have easily won 12 or 13, but we improved. We went from 7-9 to 9-7 when people thought we'd be even worse. 2.) Greg Olsen: He had 1 terrible game against Carolina, but he's established himself as a top TE and a great receiving threat. When you have a TE that NFL CB's have trouble defending, you have something good. 3.) Kyle Orton (pre-injury): He was pretty awesome in a few games for us, and before his injury, I really thought we might …

Here is my thought for preparation for next year.... Cut/Trade: Brian Urlacher-If we can trade him for a 2nd round pick or better, let's dump him and plug in a young guy, we have several young LB's that can do as well... Dusty D-Cut/too much injury Kevin Jones-Cut if we are not going to use him Booker-Cut/not working out, although it makes me sad to see him go, he was a good one but seems to be too old. Vasher-Cut unless he is willing to restructure his contract Mark Anderson-Reduce contract or cut Harris-Reduce contract or cut R Davis-Use only as a backup OLine-Consider cuts to R Garza and O Kreutz...I admit I am not sure…
