Bears third-string QB Matt Blanchard has been diagnosed with a fractured knuckle. Although the injury is to Blanchard's left (non-throwing) hand, it severely dents his roster chances. Coach Marc Trestman hinted the team will sign another quarterback. The Bears worked out JaMarcus Russell, Trent Edwards and Jordan Palmer earlier this summer. Considering Jay Cutler's recent fragility, we'd guess the Bears would like to carry three quarterbacks.

...Between Trestman and Lovie...? I'll start with draft choices and free agents from Emery within the respective years. How about the balls to start two rooks on the right side? There's more but I want to see your thoughts! I like what I'm seeing and hearing about the new staff.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...-jordan-palmer/ So with the third QB having a break in his hand the Bears signed a new QB in Jordan Palmer. Do you think this is a good signing or should we have signed someone else?

Who's on the bubble? Who is in? Who is out? Who needs to earn a job in the next 10 days? Training camp is over and there's just a little over a week left before the roster gets cut down so let's start the debate. Among the DBS my biggest question mark is on Brandon Hardin....I haven't seen or heard anything of him so far. Right now I'm thinking he does not make our final roster. He has two games to turn that around and really needs to show up. If he doesn't will Emery cut one of his first draft picks after just one season? There are others at the bottom of the DB depth chart can't say I"ve paid enough attention to see who is worth keeping. WR…

I wonder if the Bears have interest in FA CB Richard Marshall? He can play both safety and CB. Played for the Carolina Panthers before the Dolphins signed him. Might be a savy vet to replace Hayden. From rotoworld: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3703/richard-marshall Dolphins released CB Richard Marshall.Marshall is hard-nosed and versatile, but was miscast as an outside starter. Marshall could easily surface in Cleveland with Ray Horton, under whom he had his best NFL season in 2011. Marshall, 28, can play both safety and corner

It's nice to find an NFL player (or any pro athlete) with a sense of humor in front of the media. I get tired of all the standard cliche answers to every question. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/ The Bears' first-team offense has run approximately 30 plays in the preseason, hardly a large enough sample size to panic over Bennett not getting the football thrown his way. But when the regular season rolls around, Bennett promises that quarterback Jay Cutler will know when he's open down the field. "He sees me; I'm 6-foot-7, a big black guy running down the middle of the field. He sees me," Bennett said. "I wear white gloves so he can see the white g…

Actually I'm looking forward to a night of football, starting with the Packers Vs. Seahawks at 7 PM and then switching to the beloved. Not sure the girlfriend is going to be as happy with that plan as I am. This weekend's game is said to be the most telling. We should see at least a minimal game plan and a half of football from our starters, possibly more. I want to see Jay distribute the ball. The offense be more diverse in general with Forte getting some good work. The D to continue to hustle to the ball, get turnovers. McFadden is a good back when healthy. Let's see what he does against the Bears D. And you?

QB- Eli Manning, Sam Bradford RB – Matt Forte, Chris Johnson, Lamar Miller WR – Calvin Johnson, Antonio Brown, Cecil Shorts, JoshGordon, Kendall Wright TE – Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett K – Robbie Gould D/ST - Bengals I'm hopeful...

This is a breakdown of the entire OL in the 1st half versus the Raiders and the grading system is as follows, [++]: Exceptional block showing good technique, physicality and finish. [+]: Good block that may be missing one of the keys from above. [/]: Stalemate or a block that does not do much to further the success of the play.
