Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. Below is a screenshot of the lowest separation of skill position players through 1st 2 weeks of the season (no qualifiers applied). Bears have 3 of the top 5. I don't know whether the QB decisions play into the separation or if this is a pure stat - but not even the best QB's can consistently deal with this many people NOT getting open. All of these parties need to step it up - the really scary one is Miller - he is supposed to be more electric at getting open; Robinson has always had less separation than the league but made up for it with fundamental awesomeness.

So thru a quarter of the season, the Bears are 3-1 and have a 52% chance to make the playoffs. The NFC East will only send one team, so the competition is going to come from the West and South. After TB, NO has a 72.6% to make the playoffs, which would put them in the #2 Wild Card slot. In the West, after Seattle, LAR has a 72.8% chance to make the playoffs for the #1 Wild Card slot. So the Bears are the WC3 slot (7th) ahead of SF at 40% and ARZ at 33%, both teams are 2-2. What is interesting is we faced the #1 DVOA team last week against IND (they are now 4th), and will face TB who is now #1 this week. So we are definitely hitting a gauntlet right now. Our de…

  5. So I wonder if the firing of both Pace and Nagy wouldn't be the biggest moral booster the Bears could make before the season ends. And I also mean tearing down the whole team. I don't think any D-fensive player has taken a team to a Super Bowl win, no matter how good, with out strong support across the board. Taylor, Butkis, Watt, Donald, Sapp, Mack. When the highest paid player is on the defense or offense other than QB your just not going to win. And this whole mindset of getting a QB on a rookie deal so you can build around him. In the last nine years only two teams won with a QB on their rookie contract. Wentz was but Foles won the big one. IMHO in to…

Looking like I might squeak out a win this week. Even if I don't I should remain the #2 seed in my league. But there are enough teams that could challenge me for that spot and things go really poorly I could even find myself on the outside looking in if I don't win next week (especially if I don't pull it out this week. In our league we have a waiver priority number rather than a FAB system. The priorities don't reset each week. So I currently have the #2 priority. If I use it I move to the back of the line. I've been hit hard with injuries and COVID so the waiver wire has been extra important down the stretch. I'm wondering if there is a player out there that is …

The Saints playoff game could very well be his last as a Chicago Bear. If he's a good QB, an NFL QB, wouldn't he want to truly display that for a future employer? Wouldn't he want to have a small piece of film to use to say, "The Chicago scheme severely limited me," and prove his actual abilities? If I'm Trubisky, this is the time to open it up. I'm going for a new contract with a different team, because the time in Chicago is almost certainly over. I'm trying to make a highlight reel to impress GMs who think that not only is Chicago where WRs go to die, but it's also where QBs go to die. If I'm him, on nearly every 50/50 opportunity, I'm throwing it up to give …

How about Fitzmagic and Ehlinger in the draft for next season? Leaves us the first pick for OT. I heard an interview with the Longhorn, seems pretty heady and smart. I’ll admit I watched next to noting in terms of Texas’ games this year.

NFL Draft 2021: Hoge's Bears Mock Draft 4.0 Of all the mock drafts I have reviewed, I think this one is one of the best. It has trades involved that are very realistic vs pipe dreams I also like the players selected. If this could become reality, I'd be excited beyond words Unfortunately, I doubt we'll come anywhere close to this predicted draft/

So 2022 is where the team is in a much better cap situation. They can save $12.9M by cutting Quinn as a post-June 1 cut and $7M on Foles next offseason. So $20M off the books is a nice chunk of change without losing any performance. Mack is also an easy candidate for a restructure at $30M. Graham comes off the books, so the only guys with a cap hit north of $10M would be Mack, Jackson, Whitehair, and Goldman. Even before the Quinn and Foles moves, the team would have around $40M to play with, so $60M is more than enough money to resign current guys and bring in a couple of impact FAs. Starters that need new contracts: Robinson (UFA - 2022) Daniels (UFA - 2022) …

I have spent the last few years dogging Nagy, his scheme, and play calling. Pace's draft strategy, free agent choices. It is what it is and I need to change how I process those choices. I have listened to a few different opinions over the past week on things. !. With Nagy turning play calling over to Lazor I think it can give him a better perspective during the game. Instead of his head buried in the play call sheet looking for his next magic bullet he can see how the game is going. Maybe not so many "I didn't see the play" comments He said so when asked about the hurry up call on I believe the Robinson or Moony toe tape catch. He knew it was a catch …

Does anyone follow, listen to or watch anything from Barstool Sports? I have seen a few things, mainly Big Cat who is a Bears fan, seems like a funny guy. Well, Pat McAfee, former Indy Punter, just signed a $30M a year deal with FanDuel leaving Barstool Sports. First off, that is more than he made in his entire NFL career (which is mind-boggling). Secondly, I can't imagine what ESPN and other networks are paying terrible QBs as analysts (Dan Orlovsky, etc). Besides McAfee, the only other personality of interest in Barstool is Big Cat. I can't imagine he is making anywhere near that much because the entire company is only valued at $200-$400M nowadays, which is …

Despite our issues at WR for some reason I still lean toward fixing the CB/S position in Rd 2. That's not to say I wouldn't draft a WR there if the right talent fell to us. Maybe at this point I simply like the DB options in Rd 2 better than the WR options. Looking at WR who will still be on the board in Rd 2-5 I came across Justyn Ross. Physically he's an easy fit to step into ARob's role but he has some serious injury history having had surgery to repair a congenital fusion condition with his neck and spine. He missed all of 2020 for that but returned in 2021 and still played well. I like his skill set and he's a player I'll be tracking as we go through the scouti…

Something to keep in mind going into the draft, from the Sun-Times (http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/2187374,CST-SPT-bear22.article): ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Angelo confirmed the Bears are looking at safeties, admitting they need help at the position. He said the team had a chance to make a move for a veteran safety a couple of weeks ago and opted to wait out the draft first. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We've talked about guys out there like Hamlin, Otogwe, Sharper, etc. I haven't seen any signficiant FS signed in the past few weeks, so it…

Bears could look to trade a linebacker Apr 23 4/23/2010 12:45:09 PM | More There is a feeling in the locker room that the Bears could consider trading one of their linebackers to recoup a draft pick according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. What a veteran linebacker would bring in return isn't clear right now. The Bears have seven veteran linebackers and that could be one or two too many after Pisa Tinoisamoa re-signed to compete for the starting job on the strong side. Nick Roach, a restricted free agent who signed a tender for $1.684 million, and veteran Hunter Hillenmeyer, who is due to earn $1.7 million this season, could also be shopp…

  20. PRO DAY RESULTS: Free safety Quentin Scott impressed scouts from eight teams at Northern Iowa's pro day on March 31st. Scott (6-3 7/8, 224) worked out as both a defensive back and a wide receiver and put together a really good workout. He ran a 4.40-second and 4.45-second 40-yard dash, had a 35-inch vertical leap, 10-1 broad jump, 4.18-second short shuttle, 6.88-second three-cone drill and completed 13 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds. His arms were measured at 34 5/8 inches. Ten of Scott's teammates and two players from small area schools also worked out indoors on Mondo track.
