Whats everyones thought on Gerald. I just noticed that he benched 26 reps and his arms measured a whopping 35". Also of note is that he ran a better than expected 40 time. Thoughts?

The Bears have sent contract tenders to exclusive rights free agents Nick Roach (above) and Marcus Hamilton, NFL sources confirmed. Roach started nine games at strong-side linebacker and finished with 40 tackles including a season-high eight in the final game at Houston. Roach is expected to enter minicamp atop the depth chart at the position although he will be pushed by seven-year veteran Hunter Hillenmeyer, 28. I like Britton and Oher in the 1st, and each are well discussed, but are there any outside the box options to help our OL? Been speaking w/ a friend, and we were looking at Atlanta. Atlanta tendered two starting OL at 2nd round level. Both are very solid starters, and both are also still young. Harvey Dahl (RG) & Tyson Clabo (RT). Dahl is a solid starting OG. he is 27 and I believe started all year, and was part of Atlanta's solid OL. Clabo is also 27, and I think has started the last two years. Round 1 Hakeem Nicks WR fufills the Bears need to add another playmaker on offense. Round 2 Lawrence Sidbury DE this adds a young fresh talent to be groomed to replace one of the Bears aging DEs and also is the traditional small school pick that JA takes in the 2nd round. Round 3 Phil Loadholt RT this fills a glaring need on the right side of the O-line and gives the Bears a huge Big Cat type player with youth. Every year the draft has strange twist that are unpredictable. This year I have a feeling that it will be even more strange this year.According to the talking heads OT and WR is going to dominate the first round with about 6 picks each that leaves 20 picks for the other posititons. I believe only two DTs Rajii and Jerry are locks for the first round with Hood and Brace following close behind. At DE Orakpo,Brown,Ayers, and Tyson Jackson should have cards turned in in their name along with "tweeners" English, and Maybin also.That leaves 12 picks.Pencil in Stafford,Sanchez,and Freeman at QB that leaves 9. Imagine if our training camp QB battle came down to Kyle Orton vs Chris Simms. Simms was the QB a lot thought JA would pursue to push Kyle along. Who would of won? Most likely Orton without a doubt, there wouldn't have been a real competition. Now, we get to see this competition for real. Denver will most likely not hand this job over b/c of favorites. It'll come down to a real battle and we'll get to see if Kyle is actually a decent QB or not. What are the odds? Does our homerism already convince us that Kyle is the better QB? This may also show us that we've been wearing the koolaide goggles. What do you guys/gals think?

I think we all remember those "One city.One goal" ads last year the Bears put out. Well, I'm not sure if this is going to be a real one, but I found it searching photobucket and I thought it was neat, so here ya go.

At 6 CT on NFL Network, they will announce the schedules for the 2008 season. I'm going to guess we have night games against GB, one MIN game, the PIT game, the ARZ game, the BAL game, and maybe the SEA game.

Now that we have Cutler and a few Oline players what do we need? Well I for one think that we need a big fast WR to throw to, someone in the mold of Burress. Not necessariliary Burress himself but maybe a guy like Kelly, Robiske in the draft to take some heat off of Hester. Cutler said that he is going to make Bennett better this year since they have played together and Williams will be blocking for him also. But what I really want to see is Turner throwing out his old playbook and get a grip to what his team can really do, and make plays for those down and distance calls. This weekend, I played GM for the Bears in an online 7 round mock draft.
