According to some stats in ESPN magazine, teams have great successes when using play action, and should use it more. When using play action, teams threw for 9.23ypa, compared to only 6.9 for all other passes. Further, they result in more first downs by percentage (44.3%) than other passes (33.3%). I love that response from Mr.Allen!!!!! Now the powers that be have stated the roster is not done yet and he also said that they are looking at safety in FA and the draft. So with that in mind who would be the best player for our defense?

Is it me, or does it just feel odd on yet another day when the quarterbacking for the bears is beyond atrocious, 2 castoffs (Orton, no so much a castoff albeit) perform well and provide big wins for their teams? Many of us have claimed that we simply cannot develop players. I'm not sure that's the case here...but it just makes me think. My dad brought the subject up to me. While we both agreed that Cutler is better than either of those 2...it was just kind of odd both did well while we floundered with no heart or brains yet again...

Due to the fact that my Bears season ticket $ and the ton of $ I owe for taxes this year are due at about the same time, I am going to be unable to afford my Bears tickets. That being said I don't really want to lose them. So, I would like to sell them for this year. I have 3 tickets. The grand total is $2,048 for 3 tickets to 10 games (2 preseason games). Man, this is the third, or fourth, time that I will be on a plane when the Bears play. I think, but then again, I've had some good bourbon since then, that we always win when I'm flying. So, on Dec 2nd I'll ask for the good stuff on the plane!

Watching in the bar again so it's hard to pick up on some of the details on how guys played. Here's some thoughts on the KC game: Offense Oline: Forte managed to run for 3.9ypc behind a rookie center and 7th Rd pick Leno while going against a stacked box all game long with no credible deep threat on the outside. There was nothing spectacular in the run game but it was effective enough. On the edges Kyle Long and Leno shutout Hali and Houston from getting any sacks. The line often had help from Cutler who was elusive in the pocket but he also had places to move to on most plays. It seems to me that when the QB has space to move around it's a credit to the bloc…
