Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. 1. From the Sun Times: http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2008/05/or...of_firstte.html Interesting, but maybe the coaches were just trying to defuse the talk that they were determined to give Grossman the job. Discuss.

  2. Think someone mentionned Barber here in a thread a couple days ago as an option. He won't be htiting the market any more.

http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=251 The Bears The Bears have added a new scout, presumably to help out on the east coast. Just so you'll know who (else) to blame. Cedric Benson is back at work. No word on why he missed a day but we'll cut him some slack because it's not a crime. As far as we know... David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune makes a legitimate argument that Devin Hester could be among the biggest losers in the decision to opt out of the CBA. Thought playing offensive line was the dirties job in the NFL? Come inside the mind of Israel Idonije of your Chicago Bears. Elsewhere Presumably the vot to opt out of the CBA was u…

Tillman was attending to a family matter. Briggs flew to Arizona to attend the funeral of college teammate Young Thompson, who died last week, four days after his 28th birthday. Jamar Williams took Briggs' spot with the first team, and Corey Graham filled in for Tillman.... Dusty Dvoracek (hand) was held out for the third straight day, and Tommie Harris (knee) was limited. … Punter Glenn Pakulak was released after a poor showing Saturday. … The Bears' rookies will visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton…

It's way early to make a judgment but just watching the day two highlights from minicamp Ced appears to be quite a bit quicker than he was last year. I can't tell if he's any faster but his lateral cuts seem to be much crisper than what I recall last year. http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/mul...amp;PLAY_CLIP=Y Other observations... Olsen continues to be a QBs best friend with outstanding catches. Our QBs throw a lot of picks into coverage but this can just as easily be a blown route by a WR, still some very bad passes. Metcalf may have left a few biscuits on the table this offseason, it seems he can move a bit better than last year. Of c…

How healthy will the Bears be in 2008? Or, Should I ask how will the Bears do in 2008? Are the two in fact the same question, well, maybe.... Here is an article entitled In NFL, the healthy earn respect from DallasNews.com showing the games lost to starters in the 2006 season: In NFL, the healthy earn respect (2006 Season Charts) Here is an article entitled Colts keep winning in a painful season from WFAA.com showing games lost to starters in the 2007 season: Colts keep winning in a painful season (2007 Season Charts) According to these articles, the Bears went from a team with only 25 games lost to starters in 2006 to 60 in 2007. Reality Hits Quickly for the Bears Seldom do I read an article on one of the Chicago sites that I do not get pi$$ed at when reading, but this article I can not find any points I disagree with. A good article for all of us starving for football to begin!

QB Rating Calculator A bit off topic but for those who like to crunch numbers like I do I found this QB Rating Calculator and thought I would share the link with you. I have seen others in the past but this one is pretty slick, IMO.

  11. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....-camp-da-1.html Bears camp: Day 2 Bears fans, welcome to our running blog from Bears training camp. The posts are from Tribune reporters Vaughn McClure and David Haugh. Let's go ... 3:45 p.m. Bears general manager Jerry Angelo, sitting at the ESPN 1000 radio both here, said Devin Hester will be rewarded and that the team understands his value. Angelo also said rookie tackle Chris Williams will be "fine" after Williams left practice today with back stiffness. "Nothing to be overly alarmed about," Angelo said of of the team's first-round pick. 1:58 p.m. You can imagine the reaction after Rex Grossman just fumble…

  15. Have to keep reminding myself, 1st preseason game, do not take it too serious, look at individual performances, not team success, it is just live practice, not to worry, not to worry, repeat after me, not to worry, LOL

OK, I wasn't impressed. But as I've given myself a little time to think about it, it wasn't all bad. The O Line did hold up pretty well and there weren't a lot of penalties called in the game. Of course, I'm not sure KC is a pass rushing juggernaut either... The running game looked pretty good. Obviously we have some horses there and this will only improve when Jones is ready to go. Now, it sure would've been great if Jerry didn't draft a guy with a pre-existing back condition. Damn it. Still, we'll have to watch this situation develop. If the line can produce through the first half of the season and the kid really returns in 12 weeks, it might not be so bad …

Rex Grossman needs good showing vs. Seattle An interesting article but mistitled in my opinion. It has far less to do with the title than it does with 10 topics of discussion that the author makes on issues for the Bears to face, only 1 of the 10 being Rex vs Kyle. My favorite point of the 10 mentioned:

  18. Bears Offensive Problems: More Than the Players http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=280 It looks to me like the QB question got settled last night. I agree with the writers from both The Chicago Sun-Times and The Chicago Tribune. I think WR Brandon Lloyd stepped up and won a job for both himself and Kyle Orton. In Orton's case, its' like being 3 feet tall in a land of midgets. But for better or worse, I think the Bears made their decision. Its also apparent that the Bears have offensive problems other than QB. No, I'm not talking about the banged up offensive line. I'm not talking about mediocre WRs. Those are big ones but what I'm thinking about…

from profootballtalk.com SCOUTS GALORE WATCH SIMMS WORK Posted by Tom Mantzouranis on August 18, 2008, 1:43 p.m. It’s been almost two years since a majority of the football-loving world first learned of the word “splenectomy” thanks to the in-game destruction of Chris Simms’ insides. Meaning it’s been almost two years of uncertainty over whether he’d be healthy enough to play football again, and if so whether he’d be doing so in pewter. With Simms healthy, the Bucs saturated with quarterbacks and moving on, and final cuts looming, that uncertainty will soon be over. Either the Bucs will trade Simms, or they’ll release him at the last minute before having to…
