At some point they’re going to have to adjust these low totals to account for our defense. We’ve given up over twenty five points dating back at least ten games while going 7-3 over the total our last ten. This year we’re a perfect 4-0 over the total with the only close one being in TB. The total for Thursday sits at 44 currently for those of y’all that wager.

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...a4-526d6d7acb57 Several months ago I made a post regarding the importance of continuity with the offensive line. This article reminded me of those sentiments. The respective comments from Trestman and Kromer below say it all. "I think the biggest thing is that they've stayed healthy and they've been able to play together," said coach Marc Trestman. "That's the biggest thing in growing lines. I've seen lines with all different talent levels come together because they've played together. That's the No. 1 thing. "There's so much communication involved and there's so much body language involved and knowing where p…

Seems appropriate...Alshon should have gone as well, I think. But his time will come! Marshall got in due to a great year and his reputation.

For the draftniks out there I thought this might be worth reading. The article breaks down performance trends versus draft position. For example, OTs drafted in slots 1-13 have the highest success rate of being a 5yr starter at 94%, and a bit surprising to me LB is right behind them at 90%. . http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Diggin...babilities.html

Most years I get to watch the entire combine. Either live or recorded. This year I didn't, so I don't have as good of a handle as normally. So... Which guys have risen on your personal charts? Mid round guys who might have moved to bottom first. Nobodies who are now mid round guys. And also the late round sleepers. Who's the guy the Bears should get with a big surprise?

After watching the Pats win yet again, it made me think there there might be a silver lining to our last 10 years of sucking... Granted, we had lightning in a bottle for 2006. But our lack of QB really doomed us...along w/ losing Mike Brown and Tommie Harris for the most important game. But in a broad brush stroke, from 2007-2016...the Pats really have dominated. And they probably will continue to until Brady/Billichick retire in 3-5 years. Sure, some other teams have won in the meantime. But the landscape has been really owned by the Pats to the like we'll probably never see again. We never want to suck...but given that we did and do, it might have n…

So we can finally start looking hard at the offseason. 1. February 24th - March 2nd - NFL Combine: we should have a good idea how the players will be slotted after the combine and some pro days. Mock drafts on fire. 2. March 16th - Legal tampering period: We will see a flurry of activity starting around this date as players start locking in deals with teams, will the Bears sign a QB? Is Mike Glennon available? 3. March 18th - The official first day of the league year and the official Start to Free Agency. All the official announcements start on the first wave of free agent signings; teams have to exercise options by 4pm. 4. March 29th - April 1st - Ann…

Hey Guys and gals, Happy Thanksgiving next week ! Sorry, I"ve been busy and I have had no time to chirp in and shoot some comments. I do have some questions on the playoffs regarding placement. If the playoffs started today who would we play and where ? Do we play the other wild card team or play a division leader ? And do we have a preference ?

Carson Palmer already called it a must game so the Bengals.com roundtable must have looked at the numbers to come up with a split decision to pick the 4-2 Bengals in Sunday’s 4:15 p.m. Paul Brown Stadium game against the 3-2 Bears. Under Marvin Lewis, the Bengals are 2-4 in their games before bye weeks. But under Lewis they are also 5-0 against the NFC North, 9-2-1 against the NFC at home, and have never been swept in back-to-back PBS games. Big Bird gives the Bears the edge because of their terrific run defense. But The Sage and The Eye opt for the Bengals with The Sage giving Cincinnati the intangibles and The Eye leaning to the Bengals’ ability to block the …

That is what needs to happen this week at a minimum. If there are not changes made this week, we need to seriously boycott. Do not attend anymore home games, leave Soldier Field empty and see how that goes over.

Here are the Bears single season records on offense. Passing 370 Completions - Cutler 2014 561 Attempts - Cutler 2014 3838 Yards - Kramer 1995 29 TD - Kramer 1995 Rushing 381 Attempts - Payton 1984 1852 Yards - Payton 1977 14 TD - Sayers 1965, Payton 1977, Payton 1979 Receiving 118 Receptions - Marshall 2012 1508 Yards - Marshall 2012 13 TD - Kavanaugh 1947, Gordon 1970 It feels like with the RBBC, the rushing records won't be touched for quite some time. All the passing ones seem to be in play every year and for receiving, Moore has a shot at 118 receptions, but it would be a long shot. Thoughts?
