  1. Rodgers, Sharper, Knox win NFC player of month honors Posted by Mike Florio on October 29, 2009 4:34 PM ET The NFL has unveiled the players of the month for October. For the NFC, the offensive player of the month is Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who somehow generated a 123.9 passer rating while otherwise running for his life behind a porous offensive line. He completed 74.5 percent of his throws, and he averaged 10.5 yards per attempt in leading the Packers to two wins in three games. Saints safety Darren Sharper is the NFC defensive player of the months, thanks to three interceptions in October, two of which were returned for touchdowns in three g…

Remember when we used to complain that Robbie never kicked a field goal over 50 yards? He has made his last 9 in a row. Peace

My hope is that Trubisky progresses like Goff. The quality of our defense and running game will help a lot.

https://www.thephinsider.com/2020/3/23/21191720/phinsider-question-of-the-day-w-live-thread-general-discussion-03-23-2020 Just wasting time tonight and ran across this. Don't even know what to make of the posts. 70 of them just talking about replacing a switch on a garbage disposal. They all most go back years. I mean, there are so many ways to make a joke, but they also seem to be kinda all on the same page. I have just never seen a back and forth like that. A kinder gentler discourse. I assume they talk about football sometimes.

Someone mentioned Brandon Thorn in some posts (forgive me for not remembering who) as an Oline analyst. I accidentally came across his Substack so I figure I'd post the link here in case anyone is interested. https://trenchwarfare.substack.com/ https://trenchwarfare.substack.com/p/ol-scouting-notebook-2022-nfl-combine?s=r Like everyone else I'm highly interested in Oline this draft but I'm also not an expert in analyzing the finer points of the positions. I've kinda had Raimann as a target for us somewhere and watched as he reportedly moved up to as high as a 2nd Rd prospect. His arm length makes me think we take him off the board as an OT. We already have …

Really interested in how people see the Bears’ CBs shaking out. Obviously help is needed but what kind of help kind of depends on how you see the current roster: Jaylon Johnson - His contract is up next year. Is he a #1 despite his lack of takeaways? Do you extend him this off-season? Kyler Gordon - He has a rough start last season but got better and definitely flashed. Is he an outside CB or do you leave him in the slot? If he’s a slot guy who is your #2? Kindle Vildor - Do you trust him? Seems like one of those guys who has done well relative to where he was drafted but you can’t really count on. Worth keeping absent better options but I’d like to have be…

I was upset when I first learned of Cliff Stein leaving the Bears. I was even more alarmed that it was rumored that Warren was the one who showed him the door. I just read an interesting article describing in detail the rise and fall of Cliff Stein and now fully understand why he was dismissed. The article describes Stein's change in approach to contract negotiations that had become an issue with players and their agents. It also mentioned that he felt Phillips and Stein mishandled negotiations with Arlington Heights which has led to a stalemate in Warren's plans for a stadium there. Finally, it states Warren is concerned that there are "leaks" in the front office o…

I have read an article about Jared Crick /DE/Neb. He had two productive years until last year when he tore his pictoral muscle. As a 3rd round pick he could be a great valve, since they say he had a first round grade until his injury. Also he could slide in to the 3 tech tackle spot as he has played inside before. Andre Branch/Clem/DE in 2nd or 3rd. High production senior season, long armed, non stop motor. good speed. Jack Brequette/AR/DE at a 4 th or 5th rounder has good size, non stop motor, stength and 10 sacks senior season.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/categ...or-mill/page/2/ The former first-round pick has chosen to sign with the Rams today, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. That means he’s about to board a plane bound for London, where his new team plays the Patriots Sunday. Williams had previously visited the Eagles, Cardinals and Chargers, before making the decision to sign with the Rams. There will be an opportunity to play quickly, as the Rams line has been a patchwork affair all season. Of course, how Williams handles jet lag might also be a factor.

So we can finally start looking hard at the offseason. 1. February 24th - March 2nd - NFL Combine: we should have a good idea how the players will be slotted after the combine and some pro days. Mock drafts on fire. 2. March 16th - Legal tampering period: We will see a flurry of activity starting around this date as players start locking in deals with teams, will the Bears sign a QB? Is Mike Glennon available? 3. March 18th - The official first day of the league year and the official Start to Free Agency. All the official announcements start on the first wave of free agent signings; teams have to exercise options by 4pm. 4. March 29th - April 1st - Ann…

See that “Sack Man” Dent stopped by for a visit. Wonder if he and Quinn compared notes? Also saw that Tillman was in the house last week. Always good to see the alumni stop by for a visit.

It seems like this organization has had a player development deficit for quite some time. When has a player come into the organization and played better on the Bears than on a previous team (Akiem Hicks?). Of the recent acquisitions, the only player not to play worse on defense has been Billings. Edmunds, Edwards, Walker, Green, and Jones all seem worse this year. Tonyan has been bad, Davis with the obvious personal issues, but even Patrick has disappointed. Then on the draft side, what player have the Bears developed where you could actually see the progression? Eddie Jackson peaked in year 2, got hurt and was never the same. He has shied away from conta…

Sheesh. I called Sherrod a first round reach which shows how much I know. Everything indicates that Carimi is head and shoulders better then Sherrod. Nice pick for the Bears.

How about Fitzmagic and Ehlinger in the draft for next season? Leaves us the first pick for OT. I heard an interview with the Longhorn, seems pretty heady and smart. I’ll admit I watched next to noting in terms of Texas’ games this year.
