There are only a few spots left in the playoffs going into the last week. In the NFC, SF is 9-7 and NO is 8-8. SF has to beat LAR to get in. NO has to beat ATL and have SF lose to get in. Odds are in favor of NO here. If that happens, it will 4 out of 5 seasons out of the playoffs for Shanahan who still has a losing record as a coach. I don't get all the love he gets. His offense has regressed from the 2019 to now and technically he has more playmakers. In the AFC, IND is 9-7 and needs to win vs JAX next week to get in. I think we have one fairly good size contract in the offseason but the rest will be lower profile choices. I think we bring back Wooten but still need one. I think the one big one will be a DE along with the cutting of Peppers, this is highly probably. Choices: M. Bennett,L. Houston,M. Johnson, Hardy,Orakpo. I think Hardy and Orakpo will cost too much but we have a shot at the other 3. So I think Bennett and Houston will be the targets. Free agent WR from TCU Jimmy Young continued the tradition of carrying a veteran's shoulder pads after practice by performing the task for Roy Williams who was rebuffed by Dez Bryant last year when he asked the then Dallas rookie to do the same thing. To Jimmy Young's credit he felt that it was his duty as a sign of respect and tradition. Since I have basically deemed Sazenmacher(sp?) the underdog of TC I have to give Jimmy Young an honarable mention because that kind of attitude is rare in a WR nowadays and is quite refreshing.He is a real long shot to make the roster but here's hoping he can make the practice squad.

Most of the Bears’ 2012 schedule is pretty well set now that they and other third-place teams are set.
