Do any of you think the window is closed? I do. Despite having a young offense, most of those young guys suck. Omiyale, Knox, Webb, and Hester all suck. The defense is great, but by the time 2012 comes around (which is when the next season will be most likely) Urlacher, Peppers, Briggs, Idonije, Tillman, and C.Harris will all be TWO years old on top of their already advanced ages. Last week, Jerry Angelo promised that the coming offseason would bring greater dedication to offensive talent and a close examination of the offensive game philosophy the Bears have displayed under this current regime and the previous 60+ years. Face it, Ron Turner ain't leavin'. But I can handle him sticking around if he can change his offensive scheme to be more aggressive and Lovie's "Get off the bus running" attitude has to bend more as well. The flavor of the day in the NFL is to be a "Pass first" offense. The top two teams in each conference (NE Pats, Indy Colts, Dallas Cowboys, and GB Packers) are ranked 1-4 in the league in passing. New England, the "Perfect…

The Hail Mary ended Flus's run, the team was sleepwalking after that game. My hope is this is the signature gritty win they were looking for, battling for 60 minutes to scrap out a last second win. Johnson needs to improve his play calling; felt like he was forcing the runs that were turning into instant lost yards. Then, with first and goal at the 2, you score on first down when you could have burned the clock all the way down and forced them to use their timeouts. A lot of learning points while getting a win going into the bye. They really need Edwards, Jarrett, Gordon, and Wright back.

Getting ready for the Favre LoveFest. I hope we have Aikman at least.

Disappointed with this, understand the need for cap space but might have been better to cut Hicks because there is still a lot of dead money.

Crabtree's injury causes him to drop to 18th where we can nab him. Really though that does suck for him and i wonder if it will have any affect on where he gets drafted. I could see it not really doing anything

Watching NFL Live tonight...saw that quite a list has developed on the FA market. Chris McAlister Dre Bly Sam Madison Leigh Bodden Drayton Florence Adam 'Pacman' Jones I wouldn't mind seeing one of the first three on the Bears, for the right price.

Supposed to be a really good teammate. Has injury / concussion issues, which some say are why he has been blackballed from the league. Personally I think he'd be a good guy to have around. Knows how to win.

With Cutler, will Bears dig long ball? Turner will have more freedom to open up playbook Dan Pompei | On the NFL May 19, 2009 The joke goes when Jay Cutler showed up at Halas Hall after his trade from Denver, nobody knew who he was. See, none of us in Chicago recognizes what a real quarterback looks like. The next issue is if anyone in Chicago will know what to do with one. Other than buy him a beer, of course. Bears coach Lovie Smith and offensive coordinator Ron Turner never have worked with a talent like Cutler, but they believe they know how to use him. does it really matter who we get at DC? Whomever comes in will most likely have no previous DC experience (probably someone from Indy's staff). Unless Lovie can pull a rabbit out of a hat and get Herm Edwards to take the position, he is screwed. Hell, they might as well give Babich the position back. He won't cost them anything extra and they could say that a year away from the position gave him a better perspective. Who cares what the fans think??? They have basically told us to go pound sand so how could bringing Babich back be any worse. Hell, he'll probably have more experience than any candidate they hire. UUUGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Peace

IMHO we should look at the Bengals running backs DeDe Dorsey and Brian Leonard because they will be sweating out the final hours before the roster cutdown deadline, and either one of them is a good fit for the Bears. I like Leonard because he runs like a truck!!

Since we got Marshall....I think our focus in FA should be with Nicks from the Saints and Winston from the Texans. With those two we could have a great Oline for Cutler. Some same Winston is a RT...so put himthere and move Gabe to the left. I would be better than Webb right? So where does Nicks play LG..then move Williams to RG...let them (Spencer,Williams) fight it out. Or you can line then up this way...sure will be better than last years line!!! Winston - Nicks - Garza - Williams - Carimi Carimi - Nicks - Garza - Williams - Winston

Does Briggs fit a 3-4? Given all the needs, if we add one or two young players, not a bad thing to have a dedicated Briggs back. The question really comes in to his dedication. Of course, I'm one of the few on this board that has been a huge Briggs fan, although last year he clearly was pretty upset and don't like the way he handled himself. I presume the Bears will not bring him back but in Fox / Pace I trust. I would hope Fox, Briggs, Fangio and Pace could talk and see if they thought there was a good fit. I am most concerned on his inability to stay on the field though. He was still our best lb'er (not that it says much) when he was healthy. At least make sure you d…

This is a point to agure with the Packers, Lions and Vikings but with the Bears trading for Marshall and drafting Jeffrey and having Bennett and Hester, with Knox and Thomas we seem to have a better core of players than the other three. Now this maybe is just IMHO the start of the Bears getting back in control of the Division. The Lions have the following players on their roster. 13 Burleson, Nate WR 6-0 198 30 10 Nevada-Reno 10 Harris, Marcus WR 6-1 185 23 1 Murray State 86 Hughes, Nate WR 6-2 195 27 3 Alcorn State 81 Johnson, Calvin WR 6-5 236 26 6 Georgia Tech 11 Logan, Stefan WR 5-6 180 27 4 South Dakota Long, Lance WR 5-1…

Evidence suggests we've improved all around at other positions of need. We could still use a safety but I'm not convinced one rated high enough will be there at #7. So I'm declaring for the WR position although I'm still open as to who that is. Further evidence is that one of our first moves was to cut Marshall loose. To me that suggests Pace has been planning this all along, playing chess knowing that the goal was WR at the end of the day. Then again, we did add a WR already but he's more a slot guy. So I'm sticking with it, it's going to be WR. Thoughts?
