This was posted on PFT tonight. I know Hoof won't be happy to read this, but I can't help being reminded of last year at this time when everyone was debating whether we'd draft Matt Forte with our 2nd or 3rd pick. Massaquoi To Bears? Posted by Aaron Wilson on April 15, 2009, 5:11 p.m. University of Georgia wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi has been projected as the Chicago Bears’ second-round draft pick with the 49th overall selection, according to Mike Mayock of NFL Network and Mel Kiper of ESPN. During a conference call today, Mayock, citing league sources, told reporters that Massaquoi is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the draft. Massaquoi …

We just played 3 of the top 5 teams. The team and the coaching staff have given us some reasons to be optimistic. They hung with GB. The offense looked good against AZ until Cutler got hurt The Defense looked great against Sea in the first half The Coaches in my opinion have already proved to be 10 times better then the last staff. This will be the first game against a team not ranked in the top 5!!!! We get Ratliff back!!!! Looks like Alshon will be back !!! If Cutler comes back that could be huge ????? I cant wait to see this team back to 100% and not playing a team like GB, AZ and SEA. Really will be happy with the team ge…

Currently they have the Bears in the 2nd draft position and one "expert" has them taking Ole Miss DT Nkemdiche and the other "expert has them taking Cal QB Goff.I'm not sure I like either scenario.

This is a big game as a dress rehearsal for the season. Most starters won't play next week. Bears win toss then defer (never understand that in preseason). With defense on field first, Smith dinks and dunks us to death to right past mid field, but Bears hold strong and force a punt from 42. Young with a nice pursuit tackle across field, and no real broken tackles or long plays. Run defense very stout so far, 4 runs for 6 yards.

As per the SCORE. I don't know who that is. We still have like 60 million to spend.

Ever since Jimmy Johnson leaked the name Marc Trestman, I've been watching every highlight I could from his time in Canada. And I'm sure of the following statement: The majority of this board will be upset. Why? To make this offense work, either he'll have draft a ton of OL OR He's going to have a very unbalanced, semi-productive offense that relies on a lot of deep drops, has minimal rushing, and will get the QB drilled Judging from history, either scenario is going to make most of this board unhappy.

I got a notice to sign up for the TalkBears2 FF League I participated in last year but noticed it was set up for Auto-Draft. If it is going to be an Auto-Draft, I am not interested. Can anyone confirm that it is indeed changed to Auto-Draft this year? Last year I did not realize until a few minutes before the draft started that players did not get a point per reception, which I prefer, but went ahead and played. My fault, should have been more attentive to the rules. I just want to make sure I do not sign up for an Auto-Draft league as I think they really suck.

It could be just me, but it sure seems like Cutler has been throwing an inordinate amount of interceptions thus far during the offseason, albeit in training camp. The bulk of them coming from the 1st play of practice! I don't know what to make of it. Should we be worried that he's not adjusting to the system very well? Or is this just something you can sweep under the rug because it's meaningless, and QB's like to test their limits during practices? The defense has clearly been light years ahead of the offense so far in camp, but I'm curious to see if the offense will ever come around before the start of the season. We all know that Trestman's offense is one o…

Jordan palmer announced via Twitter he's been released. Kinda surprised on this. Just a guess here but I'm thinking both palmer and Edwards will be released and we will sign a 3rd qb to the PS. Maybe Rodgers

I think we discussed the "dark horse" contenders earlier in the season and I don't want to necessarily tip my hat to *unnamed poster*, but I believe he picked Frey (at least I think it was him) to be that candidate. So far, Frey has been pretty impressive. I see a 'Corey Graham' type of player in the making and there almost is no doubt he (Frey) is the current starting Nickel back. IMHO, he is defintitely the better option over Hayden. From what I've seen when he's playing, he's been around the ball in almost each instance. So far, of the 13 total tackles that he's got for the season 6 were made during the game with Pitt. And to put things in perspective; Brig…

Last year we had a thread for all the rumblings that went on at the Senior Bowl, perhaps we can do that again this year, mods pin this if you agree. Anyway, per Biggs Iowa TE CJ Fiedorowicz said first team he met with at Senior Bowl was #Bears I'm somewhat intrigued by them even talking to a potential "impact" TE. By impact I mean a player who will contribute. Right now C.J. is slotted in the 3-4 round range, which if the Bears fix a good deal of their defensive problems in FA and then grab another couple defensive guys to start the draft I'd love to see them grab another big TE. I'd prefer they wait and take a guy like Jordan Navjar, who was unde…

So who do we draft as a QB to develop if Rex and Kyle fall short of expectations? Everyone seems concerned about QBs in the draft who have problems with mechanics, speed, agility, athleticism, quick release, Big School competition, etc... There have been many QBs drafted who had all of these attributes that flopped as NFL QBs. Ryan Leaf, drafted #2 in round 1 of the 1998 draft. Cade McNown drafted #12 in round 1 of the 1999 draft. How can we forget Rick Mirer drafted #2 of the 1993 draft. All of these QBs had all the qualities we have discussed necessary to become an NFL Star QB. But there have been QBs who lacked these attributes that succeed…

Josh Beekman Resurrects When the Chicago Bears selected Josh Beekman in the 4th round of the 2007 draft, most fans were very pleased with the selection. They thought they got a player who was projected to go as high as the 2nd round in the 4th round. Jerry Angelo started the process of injecting youth into the aging offensive line. The Bears had high expectations for the 2008 season, especially on the offensive side of the ball. No one expected the Bears offense to recess like it did, and a big factor was the breaking down of the offensive line. Players played injured until it was time to fold the cards. Ruben Brown played most of the season with a torn should…
