  1. Started by adam,

Technically, halftime of this Sunday's game will be the exact halfway point of the season, but with the bye already past, we are sort of at that point now in terms of calendar days. At 5-3, what are some of your bests and worsts for this team so far? For me, the best "best" is Ben Johnson. He is really exceeding expectations in almost every possible way. He is a maniac. He is the anti-Flus and something this team has lacked since Lovie or even Ditka. On offense, I really like the balance of the offense (run vs pass, with no one player being targeted too much). 3 players have 30+ receptions, 6 with 20+ targets, which includes 4x 100-yd receiving games from …

  2. Started by AZ54,

There's a lot of smoke these days around the draft including some potential trades. At the top of my list is the spectacle in NE where Belichick is reportedly shopping Mac Jones. I'm so old I can remember when the media loved Jones and how he was the better pick over the other QBs. What this could mean for the draft I'm not sure and I have no clue what kind of value Jones would garner. At this point it seems clear we'll see 3 QBs go in the top 5: Stroud, Young, and Richardson. Levis is the wildcard but will he drop out of the top 10 or does Tenn come up and grab him at 9? What exactly is Belichick plan at QB? Hendon Hooker? Trade up to get Levis if he drops? …

This might be my new found passion. So I see a link for a game preview for Bears - Packers here: https://www.playerprofiler.com/article/nfl-best-bets-week-1-2023/ They are obviously picking the Packers, on the Moneyline +100, which is fine. However, their reasoning is bassackwards. If they just said Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon will run over the Bears so Love can play game manager while the defense forces turnovers and good field position for a close win, I would be totally ok with that. Very reasonable. This however, is just plain dumb: In the article, they state: 1. "this Packers offense will be good enough to take advantage of a Bears defense that was…

I'm admitted a sucker for these things, and every team has the same type of thing where everyone says all the right things about how they can't believe they landed the guys they got, but I'll be damned if this doesn't get me fired up. In the last two games he has allowed 3 receptions for 16 yards on 12 targets with 3 PBUs, an INT, and a forced fumble + fumble recovery. PFF had the LVR game as his highest graded game of his career at 93.3 and the DAL game was his 3rd best. So in the last two weeks, Stevenson had 2 of his top 3 games of his career, and both games he was technically CB1. This is year 3 for him, but if he keeps this up, the Bears may want to get in front of an extension because he will only get more expensive.

Fields used to have a bunch of these games, now his worst games are not as terrible as they used to be. That tells me his floor is rising, which is promising. Here are the 10 worst QBR games this season, so far. 10 Worst Games (QBR) Mac Jones - 7.0 Jordan Love - 7.8 Aidan O'Connell - 8.3 Daniel Jones - 8.6 Desmond Ridder - 9.2 Joshua Dobbs - 9.4 Russell Wilson - 10.1 Lamar Jackson - 12.3 Jordan Love - 13.0 Ryan Tannehill - 13.3 Fields has 3 games between the 23rd and 32nd worst (ironically, his first 3 games), but no longer any in the bottom 20. Funny to see Jordan Love on their twice, and the difference for him compared to Fields …

Can you confirm you can see this and no issues. If you can see this - you are officially on the upgraded forum and seeing our new server. We finished our server migration and upgrade today. I will note that you may run into some issues in next 24-48 hours as we are on a new server - so your computer at home or work may access the site perfectly fine while your phone doesn't (or vice versa). Just let me know if you are running into any issues. Additionally - if you want to test post on here just to make sure everything is humming along that would be awesome.

This injury list and subsequent contract issue make me think Jacas wasn’t even on our board. I’d bet the contract issue is over guarantees “Jacas’ recent health issues have not been limited to his knee. A hamstring injury prevented Jacas from participating at the Combine in February or Illinois’ pro day in March. There are also concerns that a labral tear in Jacas’ shoulder could require medical attention down the line.” Pro Football RumorsMike Vrabel Discusses Unsigned 2nd-Rounder Gabe JacasMike Vrabel is "positive" the Patriots will sign second-rounder Gabe Jacas, but it is not clear when it will happen. 10. With them participating in hall of fame game - they can start training camp early. I don't know if that means we have more practices than other teams or if it is just you start earlier and have more off days. I'm presuming more practices - which hopefully is a good thing (presuming they manage player health etc). The actual extra pre-season game, meaningless to me - but probably cool for Bears to be there given Mongo getting into the Hall.

Great video and analysis. He's got some names I haven't even heard of that are high and others that are way lower than expected.

According to Ian Rapport reports. If true eladed and skeptical at the same time. Paying big money for a player that doesn't stay on the field enough.

  14. I thought this was interesting. Considering it is a 17-game season, most people see the Bears going 6-11 or worse. With the Bears schedule, it seems like this would be less likely than the over, but if Fields doesn't take a leap in his 2nd season, then it seems way more likely.

Lamar back to MVP form, Fields can play like this, he just needs to be unleashed. Either DET is ok or WAS is terrible. Wentz is god awful one minute and looks amazing the next. Poor Mitch. 15-24, 120 yds, 1 INT, 3 sacks, looks lost. Mac Jones is going to beat him. IND looks terrible wow. Matt Ryan is done, looks worst than Rivers. Lawrence is abusing their defense, which is shocking, great game for him though. Flacco vs Brissett, what a barn burner there. First team to stay awake wins. Daniel Jones vs Mayfield, barn burner 2.0. The game of the injured RBs (McCaffrey and Barkely, who gets injured first?) Has anyone seen Brady lately, looks li…

  16. Started by adam,

I don't mind that the Bears are being modest with their free agent acquisitions this year. They were one play from the NFCC, had a ton of injuries, and most of their offseason losses (snap-wise) were on the defensive side of the ball, where they need upgrades anyway. Also, just like every other year, there have been some outrageous deals going out. Jaelan Phillips led all free agents with $30M AAV and had 2 sacks in 8 games for PHI. Pierce resigned with the Colts but still got $28.5M, which is crazy high for a WR2. Hendrickson got $28M and Lindenbaum got $27M. Rarely do signings like that work out in the long run. Of the 15 teams that signed a new player with a higher AAV…

  19. Started by adam,

Here are my stand out players who I think will slip into the bottom of the 53-man. OFF - TE - Tommy Sweeney 6-75, 1 TD - With Kmet, Everett, and Lewis not playing ST, I think they carry a 4th TE, and it would be Sweeney. He also has been a key contributor with several ST tackles. WR - Dante Pettis 5-98, 2 TD - I think Pettis ends up as WR5/6 and is the lead PR. He looks healthy this year and reminds me of his time in SF where he looked like a solid WR2/3. Like Sweeney, Pettis has ST value. That might get him on the roster over Johnson and/or possibly Velus. DEF - Edge - Hardy 10 tackles, 3.5 sacks - This dude has really impressed. He is everywhere…
