  1. Started by adam,

Hopefully the Bears actually get 9 games at Soldier Field in 2026, but I would not be surprised if one ends up as an International game (like vs Jacksonville). 8 games against 2025 playoff teams (one being CAR). They have 5 tough non-divisional games (SEA, JAX, BUF, NE, and PHI), what I see as 3 easy games (NO, NYJ, and MIA), and 3 other games they should be favored in (TB, ATL, and CAR). I am thinking 4-2 in the Division. They are not losing to MIN with McCarthy, I think they split vs GB and DET next year at a minimum. No way DET wins 4 straight against Johnson. 3-0 in easy games, 2-1 in the other games makes you 9-3 with the 5 tough games. If you go 2-3 you're bac…

Jonathan Gannon was really good as a DC, never worked out as a HC. With him now available, do you consider bringing someone like him on in 2026, just keep DA, or promote from within?

  3. #2 seed playing on short rest against a team that rested their starters this week. Not ideal but here we are. Bears favored by 1.5, same as BUF who is in the road against JAX. PHI and NE favored by 3.5, Rams by 10.

Something I've noticed, the last month, is that we have not run any exotic blitzes from our secondary. Also, not seeing twists and stunts, which can also help and hurt the run defense. I remember discussing the value of having CJGJ and Gordon on the field, at the same time, due to their potential versatility. That flamed out about the same time DA stopped implementing CJGJ in the pass rush. Am I onto something?

Here's a complete look at the off season and will say I agree with some and not with others moves. I'll post my view after I study the draft more but this is a first look at the off season.

Obvious connection to Al Harris and if I don't have to see McCloud on the field in the playoffs I'd consider that a blessing. He'd be a coverage upgrade over Stevenson too. He's not likely going anywhere for a single game so does he want to play with a playoff team? Can he play in the slot because CJGJ can't cover anyone? https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/12/more-on-cowboys-decision-to-cut-trevon-diggs

Swift, currently has the 29th best rushing season in franchise history with 1,047 rushing yards, can break into the top 25 with 32 yards (passing Neal Anderson), and an outside shot at the top 20 with 80 rushing yards (passing Casares). Swith has over 2K rushing as a Bear, within 9 more yards he would pass Brad Muster for 20th. Monangai needs 33 rushing yards to pass Montgomery's 2022 for 50th all-time. DJ Moore just passed 3K Receiving Yards as a Bear, good for 17th all-time. Kmet is 19th at 2,923. For receptions, Kmet is 10th at 286, Moore is 14th at 243. Moore needs 4 to pass Bobby Engram for 13th all-time. If the Bears win against DET, Ben Johnson will…

With one week left, this is quite surprising. I know injuries and playing time impacted the numbers, but it has been since Kendall Wright led the team in receiving that the Bears top Receiver had fewer than 750 yards receiving. Moore 49-671-6 Loveland 48-622-5 Odunze 44-661-6 Burden 44-617-2 There is an outside shot that the Bears end up with 4 Receivers with over 50 Receptions and 700 Receiving Yards. The fact that they are so close is really impressive.

  9. It will be interesting to see what Dan Campbell actually does. Will he rest any key starters in what is a meaningless game for DET, who have lost 3 straight, and 4 out of 5? With a chance at the playoffs still on the line, they lost to MIN 23-10 and looked like they didn't care. My hope is DET doesn't risk Week 18 injuries for their core players and the Bears can handily win and put the game out of reach by halftime, then rest their own starters with the game in hand. Bears 30-10. Bears get locked into the #2 Seed with a home playoff game against GB the following weekend. GB would be in MIN having to travel back home, then to CHI for WC Weekend.

Needs 82 scrimmage yards to hit 1K. He has 769 Rushing Yards, and 149 Receiving Yards. He has hit 82+ yards 4 times this season, all within the last 11 games. Crazy production from RB2 7th Rounder.

  11. Started by adam,

Now has 48 receptions for 622 yards and 5 TDs on the season. That is the most for a Bears TE since Kmet's 719 in 2023 (on 73 receptions). In the Super Bowl era, Dikta, Dewveal, Bennett, and Kmet are the only TEs in Bears history to have 650+ receiving yards in a season. Desmond Clark had 626. Loveland is having the 2nd best season in Bears history for a rookie TE, only to Dikta's 1,076 yards and 12 TDs in 1961 (in 14 games which is insane). Loveland also has a +43.2 REC EPA, 3rd to only McBride and Kittle. McBride has 161 targets, Loveland has 69.

  13. Started by adam,

Post Week 16 games. 2018 was probably the last time the national media had the Bears ranked this high. Here are the top 10 power rankings and the Bears ranking: CBS Sports - 4th Yahoo - 5th NFL.com - 6th Sharp - 6th NBC/PFT - 7th ESPN - 8th The Score - 8th Fox/Brady - 9th USA Today - 9th nfelo - 10th Average - 7.2 It feels like any team in the top 10 has a shot at the Super Bowl, the Rams are the closest to a complete team and they just lost to the Seahawks. If the Bears beat the 49ers, they have to be considered a top 5 team, which is hard to believe, and it is wild to see some rankings already have them in the top 5.

Early on there were a lot of concerns about the Bears picking Loveland over Warren (or a DT, Edge, or OT). Warren came out of the gate on fire and was really looking like one of the best TEs in the league while Loveland was still recovering from surgery and getting limited playing time. Right now Warren's raw stats look better, but those are essentially padded by playing time. Warren has 200 more offensive snaps than Loveland and 41 more targets. However, since November, Loveland has been one of the best TEs in the league. In that span, he beats Warren in every category. Warren has been pretty bad the last few weeks, with only 8 catches on 21 targets, for a tot…

There are two guys that stand out for me when you consider their draft status and or contract vs performance this year. So far on offense, that is Monangai who has 731 Rush Yards, only 97 fewer rushing yards than Jeanty, but with 69 fewer carries. He also has 140 receiving yards on 14 receptions. With 871 Yards from Scrimmage, he only needs 129 total yards to hit 1K with 2 games left. For a 7th Rounder, that is some crazy production. The Bears are 7-1 when Mongagai gets at least 12 touches, and 4-3 when he doesn't. Feed him! On defense, it is Nahshon Wright. 5 INTs and 2 FF, 1 TD, and 11 PD. The Bears are 6-1 when he forces a turnover, and the only loss was the…

  18. The 11-4 Bears travel to SF to take on the current 10-4 49ers. A primetime matchup of two teams that earned a playoff berth with Detroit crapping their pants. McCaffrey accounts for 23.6% of the targets, and has 10 games with over 105 scrimmage yards. He accounts for 34.8% of the 49ers yards from scrimmage. The Bears have to figure out a way to contain him, especially in the passing game. Surprisingly, he has been mediocre running the ball this year with his lowest career YPC at 3.6. He has a -31.0 Rush EPA, which puts him in the bottom 10 of the league in that category. SF will be coming off playing in Indy on MNF. 2 fewer days rest than the Bears with the Bear…

Still lead the league in Net Penalties -25, and Net Penalty Yards -318. Over the course of 15 games, they have lost a games worth of yardage to penalties compared to the other team. That is equal to a full game lost.
