Like Brian Bear, I will continue with my mock's each week with were I see the team and there biggest needs. As of right now, this team can very easily be 3-0. The players on the field isn't the biggest flaw IMO, so far it's been coaching. Lovie and Co. are out of excuses, this regime has been in place for 4 years now and the teams concept has been figured out and they are too stubborn to make any changes. It also seems whatever needs JA addresses, Lovie and Co can't seem to find the time of day to implement the tools JA gives and those tools (players) go to waste. After week 3, positions in need of upgrade: OG - Beekman is showing promise, but Garza keeps getti…

Which way do the Bears look to rebuild as the offense keeps getting stronger and defense and ST keeps slipping. With a 3-3 record, which could be 5-0 as close as the losses were, the Bears weakness have been: DL, DB, OL. The defensive line has not been putting the kind of pressure on the QB as Lovies D requires. The depth behind often injured Nathan Vasher and Charles Tillman needs to be improved since these guys seem to find some time on the inj. list every year. At safety, Mike Brown has stayed healthy, but is he holding back to help insure another contract in the NFL. The Oline has been much better than thought, but they don't seem to have the push/power to w…

We've had mixed feelings about this ball club now sense our Superbowl run 2 years ago. We are still grasping at a shot of redemption with our fingernails this year and if it weren't for a couple plays, the "NFL" world would be mentioning the Bears with the Giants and Panthers as favorites to go to the big show. With this in mind, I don't see JA looking to tear down and rebuild, but to keep reloading. He will stick to his formula in building the team through the draft and to only add big name FA's only if it won't hurt the team in the long run. FA starts Feb 27 - Mike Brown - signed 4 yr deal Julius Peppers/Terrell Suggs …

Using drafttek for slot selections, here is my mock after todays key FA signings. 2-47 (from New England/Olsen) Vladimir Ducasse OG UMass 3-75 Major Wright FS Florida 4-106 Mike Neal DT Pur 5-137 Marcus Easley WR UConn 6-171 Brian Jackson CB OKL 7-202 Erik Cook C New Mex Since the Bears addressed some key needs in FA, they will turn to the draft to add some youth to the mix. The decision to trade Greg Olsen was a tough one, but the Bears brass knew they would have to part ways when they decided to hire Mike Martz (thus the reasoning it took so long to decide). They recieved the second of New Englands second rounders and with that draft OG Vladimir …

QB Caleb Williams WR DJ Moore TE Cole Kmet TE Marcedes Lewis LB T.J. Edwards LB Tremaine Edmunds CB Jaylon Johnson S Kevin Byard Good list - makes sense. The reason Im even posting is to comment on Mercedes Lewis being in there. At 40 years old, he still has some use in the red zone where he doesnt have to run 40 yards, and he is a good blocker. But there is a reason beyond those few snaps that we kept him and lost Bates to develop, and that he is a captain, even as a third string player. When Cole Kmet was asked who was the leader in the locker room, he said "Mercedes Lewis" - I dont know if his inspiration is strongly tied to his work ethic …

Now I don't know if this is a team thing or just the website contributors, but if it is a team thing, then this would seem to support the notion that Forte will not be back. Easier to justify to fanbase if rookie RB is your RoY over others. Just speculation. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...0e-5aa9e812b8f9

I have a bad feeling about this years draft. Maybe winning the GB & NO hurt us? I think most of us will be disappointed unless we either trade up or trade down. If we stay at 14, it would be a miracle to have Clady, Williams, or Mendenhall be there. Otah should be there, and I believe he'll be a great run blocking RT, but I'd rather go w/ a LT prospect. We can make Buffalo an offer to move up with our extra 3rd as I think they would be better off getting the extra pick and getting the guy they wanted at 14 all along. We can then leap frog Denver/Carolina for a shot at Clady/Williams. A lot of mocks have Clady sliding b/c he won't fit KC O-line and Wi…

Did anyone other than me notice that during the 49ers game the defense played with 5 defensive linemen and four linebackers during parts of the game to stop the run http://thegamechicago.com/2014/09/16/week-...er-some-credit/

Bears signed Southern Illinois QB Nick Hill and Western Kentucky WR Curtis Hamilton. The Bills told Hill they'd take him with the No. 251 pick, but at the last minute went with CB Kennard Cox. Hill is a top-notch athlete and was an accurate passer at SIU. This is an ideal landing spot for the southpaw.

At the start of Free Agency, NFL.com listed their top 100 FAs. After the Yannick signing, here is what Poles did (w/ 2023 Cap hits): 27. Tremaine Edmunds ($14.6M) 34. Yannick Ngakoue ($10.5M) 44. Nate Davis (6.9M) 59. TJ Edwards ($5M) 89. Robert Tonyan ($2.6M) Also signed Demarcus Walker ($6.4M), D'onta Foreman ($2M), Andrew Billings ($2.7M), Travis Homer ($1.7M), Rasheem Green ($2.4M), Dylan Cole ($1M), and Terrell Lewis ($1M) who all should contribute. That's 12 players for $56M. Drafted: Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stevenson, Gervon Dexter, Zacch Pickens, Tyler Scott, Roschon Johnson, Terrell Smith, and Kendall Williamson. Then acquired DJ Moore…

Not exactly shocking news. We must like Matt Toeaina and Babitunde Oshinowo. Here's the PFT story: BEARS OPT NOT TO MATCH KENNEDY OFFER On the same day that word broke that the Jags signed defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy to an offer sheet, the Bears opted not to match it. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the Bears made their decision on Tuesday, and Kennedy is now a Jaguar. The one-time first-round pick will get a chance to rejuvenate his disappointing career by working his way into the tackle rotation with the Jags, who need help now that Marcus Stroud has been traded to the Bills.
