http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/04/07/rep...to-visit-bears/ I hope to hell we draft this guy. Would be a PERFECT fit as a utility guy that can catch passes or take hand-offs every now and then, as well as being our main special teams returner. Think Dexter McCluster.

Forte now has over 8,000 rushing yards and 11,931 yards from scrimmage. The 8,071 rushing yards puts him in 48th all-time only 3 yards behind Freeman McNeil and 10 yards behind Larry Csonka. In the next few games he should also pass the likes of Maurice Jones-Drew, Priest Holmes, Gerald Riggs, Roger Craig, Herschel Walker, and Earnest Byner (some pretty good company already). Additionally, he is now in 59th for yards from scrimmage with 11,931 and nearing 12k. In this game he passed Don Maynard and Michael Irvin and is now only 10 yards behind Clinton Portis for 58th. Cutler is now 41st all-time in completions, passing Y.A. Tittle, Randall Cunningham, and Sonny Ju…

I'm hoping to hear that at least one of the three rook LB's we just drafted "hits like a ton of bricks and has an outstanding nose for the football." It would be great if they said that about all of them... I'm expecting to hear Alshon is "all that" and a slice of cheese. I'm hoping to hear that Hardin is out there. Did he show up in April, I can't recall? I'm also expecting to hear something like "the tremendous depth we have now in the OL is going to make for great competition". I'm hoping to hear someone other than a coach say Long is a ferkin' stud so we can all stop the whining. Will the unsigned guys show up? Anything in the new CBA that precl…

Which way do the Bears look to rebuild as the offense keeps getting stronger and defense and ST keeps slipping. With a 3-3 record, which could be 5-0 as close as the losses were, the Bears weakness have been: DL, DB, OL. The defensive line has not been putting the kind of pressure on the QB as Lovies D requires. The depth behind often injured Nathan Vasher and Charles Tillman needs to be improved since these guys seem to find some time on the inj. list every year. At safety, Mike Brown has stayed healthy, but is he holding back to help insure another contract in the NFL. The Oline has been much better than thought, but they don't seem to have the push/power to w…

We've had mixed feelings about this ball club now sense our Superbowl run 2 years ago. We are still grasping at a shot of redemption with our fingernails this year and if it weren't for a couple plays, the "NFL" world would be mentioning the Bears with the Giants and Panthers as favorites to go to the big show. With this in mind, I don't see JA looking to tear down and rebuild, but to keep reloading. He will stick to his formula in building the team through the draft and to only add big name FA's only if it won't hurt the team in the long run. FA starts Feb 27 - Mike Brown - signed 4 yr deal Julius Peppers/Terrell Suggs …

After dominating the Colts in week 1, the Bears war room re-arranges its priorities. Here is my version of there draft board. My highest priorties are QB, RT, S and then G, WR. ROUND 1 - PICK 20 1-Cullen Harper QB Clemson - The Bears do need to address the QB position, so don't be suprised if they pull the trigger on Harper who can spend the 2009 season grooming behind Orton. Other considerations: Darius Heyward-Bey WR Maryland - The Bears would love to take the speedster at WR, but feel OL needs to be priortiy #1 until they are probowl caliber. There philoshy is to run the ball and Forte looks real good so far and by adding more quality to the fro…

With two games down, the Bears future needs may have shifted a little. Brandon McGowan once again went down and the Bears must plan to go on with out him, so finding another S has shifted up on the Bears big board. As the world knows, the Bears also need to find a QB that won't just be counted on to be a game manager, but can be relied upon to give them a chance to win a game also. The Bears also need to continue rebuilding the OL and should look at Tampa/Carolina as a model. I have the Bears picking 17th after this week: RD1-17 Duke Robinson G Oklahoma 6-5 330 JA struggled on making this pick b/c he likes his pick Beekman and FA pickup Bruenning, but R…

Like Brian Bear, I will continue with my mock's each week with were I see the team and there biggest needs. As of right now, this team can very easily be 3-0. The players on the field isn't the biggest flaw IMO, so far it's been coaching. Lovie and Co. are out of excuses, this regime has been in place for 4 years now and the teams concept has been figured out and they are too stubborn to make any changes. It also seems whatever needs JA addresses, Lovie and Co can't seem to find the time of day to implement the tools JA gives and those tools (players) go to waste. After week 3, positions in need of upgrade: OG - Beekman is showing promise, but Garza keeps getti…

Here are his picks: 3rd round, No. 87 — RB Miles Sanders, Penn State (5-11, 211) 4th round, No. 126 — WR/TE Miles Boykin, Notre Dame (6-4, 220) 5th round, No. 162 — CB Derrick Baity, Kentucky (6-1, 197) 7th round, No. 222 (from Broncos through Eagles) — S D’Cota Dixon, Wisconsin (5-10, 204) 7th round, No. 238 — K Matt Gay, Utah (6-0, 232) https://wgnradio.com/2019/03/18/hoge-2019-bears-mock-draft-2-0/ What do you think?

Using drafttek for slot selections, here is my mock after todays key FA signings. 2-47 (from New England/Olsen) Vladimir Ducasse OG UMass 3-75 Major Wright FS Florida 4-106 Mike Neal DT Pur 5-137 Marcus Easley WR UConn 6-171 Brian Jackson CB OKL 7-202 Erik Cook C New Mex Since the Bears addressed some key needs in FA, they will turn to the draft to add some youth to the mix. The decision to trade Greg Olsen was a tough one, but the Bears brass knew they would have to part ways when they decided to hire Mike Martz (thus the reasoning it took so long to decide). They recieved the second of New Englands second rounders and with that draft OG Vladimir …

QB Caleb Williams WR DJ Moore TE Cole Kmet TE Marcedes Lewis LB T.J. Edwards LB Tremaine Edmunds CB Jaylon Johnson S Kevin Byard Good list - makes sense. The reason Im even posting is to comment on Mercedes Lewis being in there. At 40 years old, he still has some use in the red zone where he doesnt have to run 40 yards, and he is a good blocker. But there is a reason beyond those few snaps that we kept him and lost Bates to develop, and that he is a captain, even as a third string player. When Cole Kmet was asked who was the leader in the locker room, he said "Mercedes Lewis" - I dont know if his inspiration is strongly tied to his work ethic …

Now I don't know if this is a team thing or just the website contributors, but if it is a team thing, then this would seem to support the notion that Forte will not be back. Easier to justify to fanbase if rookie RB is your RoY over others. Just speculation. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...0e-5aa9e812b8f9

I have a bad feeling about this years draft. Maybe winning the GB & NO hurt us? I think most of us will be disappointed unless we either trade up or trade down. If we stay at 14, it would be a miracle to have Clady, Williams, or Mendenhall be there. Otah should be there, and I believe he'll be a great run blocking RT, but I'd rather go w/ a LT prospect. We can make Buffalo an offer to move up with our extra 3rd as I think they would be better off getting the extra pick and getting the guy they wanted at 14 all along. We can then leap frog Denver/Carolina for a shot at Clady/Williams. A lot of mocks have Clady sliding b/c he won't fit KC O-line and Wi…

Did anyone other than me notice that during the 49ers game the defense played with 5 defensive linemen and four linebackers during parts of the game to stop the run http://thegamechicago.com/2014/09/16/week-...er-some-credit/
