I've got to believe this D will come around. I refuse to believe they got old and can't do it. They looked that way last night as they made J.T. look like Elway. I expect they'll bring it when the season starts. With that said, the O looked like they could be at least "average" this season. The equation to me is: Average O + Solid D + Super ST = Playoffs Obviously everything rests on staying healthy. To truly understand how impressive the O was putting up 20 points, protecting the QB and total offense last night, take a look at what happened to those poor bastard Packers just last week against the same 49er's team. LINK I've always been hop…

Brad Briggs writes in the Sun Times that Marinelli feels Harris is "Ready to Go." BUt Marinelli's statement was: He SEEMS PRETTY healthy?????? Doesn't fill me with alot of confidence. And if Harris is not back we better be looking at another anchor for the DL.

It wouldnt surprise me since Angelo wanted him the whole time, but it seems we picked a guy with injuries or offfield issues at every pick?

The Bears have two winable games in the next two weeks with the Vikings and the Bucs. If the Bears win both games, they will have the same record they had last season at week 8. I still don't feel that all hope is lost. When Carimi comes back, Garza and Spencer fill their right positions, something could turn around for this offensive line. Yet, we will still be lacking that #1 WR that we so desperatly need. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4-G1She7Yo

He was hired as the consultant for the search for a new GM and Coach.

Whoa have never seen a back carry players like that except for Walter. Marion living up to nickname.

Fishburn and Durkin in the athletic had some interesting ideas. They say to sign Keenum, 1 yr 5 mil Golden, 1 yr 6 mil Trade the 4th pick to ravens for Hayden Hurst (the idea that he is 3rd string in Baltimore). Was a first round pick and has big upside at 3 mil. Kevin Johnson/ CB 2 yr 7 mil ( played well at buffalo last year) Halapoulicaati Vaitai OT 3 yr 24 mil. Backup at philly that would play RG this year and take a OT spot in future. Anybody know much about Vaitai?

The only center still on the roster is Ryan Bates. He has arthritis issues in his shoulder. He did stem cell therapy, the question is, did that fix it? If Poles keeps him we will know the answer to that. Bring back Shelton? I would think more for depth than as a starter. I would say one of these 2 will be back at least as a backup. Dalman is the prize and will earn 10-15 Mil. Poles could decide to bring him in instead of the big spend on Trey Smith. Sign Kevin Zeilter and could get 2 players for the same money as Smith. Another option in free agency is Evan Brown from AZ. He played well last year and would be cheaper than Dalman. Then the draft. Lots…

I don't know what the hell he is looking at on film, but there is no way only two or three of the picks are not Cutler's fault. I can think of two falling WRs, two wrong routes by WRs, one DPI not called, and the play where Hester ran into the Ump just off the top of my head.

Joe Flacco is the Broncos QB, they played on MNF, and lost to the Raiders. Derek Carr was not sacked, and Flacco was sacked 3 times by the Raiders defense. Carr also completed 84.6% of his passes. The defense should shred the Broncos O-Line. The guy I am most worried about is Sanders, as he is like Albert Wilson and Randall Cobb, very slippery working out of the slot. I am less worried about Vic Fangio knowing the offense and don't think this will be a very big factor. The Bears need a win here because the odds of making the playoffs after a 1-1 start vs an 0-2 start is huge. I don't even need to see a huge game from Trubisky, just play better, make bette…

http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....e-on-his-w.html Seems like a good idea

This is pure speculation but the logic behind this deal makes sense from the Chiefs perspective if they have their sites set on a Superbowl in 2022. Proposal: Chiefs get Quinn. Bears get pick 96. (not good enough IMO) https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2955188-5-trades-nfl-teams-should-try-to-execute-before-the-2022-draft I see the Chiefs with 12 picks (albeit 4 in Rd 7). While the draft is a good one for edge rushers those who are ready to contribute as a rookie will be gone well before the end of Rd 1. Poles has a good idea of their urgency in finding a pass rusher, and that has only increased while watching the offseason trades in their divis…

I'm hearing that Williams' house was raided after the week 1 game, and that today authorities raided Halas Hall as well in connection to Williams. I'm also hearing that Eberflus cried when he heard what the charges were. Only a few things fit. All are ugly. This isn't good at all. In a football sense it probably won't hurt us much. But it's gonna be a big scandal it seems.

The rumblings around Chicago are that the Bears will look to sign a big-time back-up running back to team up with Matt Forte and LT (Cap Casualty)/Chester Taylor (UFA) are expected to be guys the Bears consider. Evidently McGahee might be joining that group and I think he could be a real nice fit if he does get cut. LT and Chester Taylor are also real nice fits. And no matter what, it seems like we have a few real good options to help improve our rushing attack (from the RB perspective).

Obviously QB's are way too protected by the rules and, IMO, rules can't possibly protect the QB's. All the rules in the world wouldn't have saved Brady last season. When a lineman accidently hits a QB with his pinkie it shouldn't cost the D 15 yards. COME ON! And this whole "Landing on the QB with all your weight" deal, ridiculous. That's exactly what you should do to a QB when you get there! I'm not saying hit him late, play within the rules. But the rules shouldn't make it nearly impossible to get a sack without incurring a penalty. I don't believe "helmet to helmet" ought to be illegal. Maybe they should make better helmets but if two players collide and i…

Saints sign Meredith to an offer sheet Per Schaffer

What are some things you'll be looking for in tonight's game. Hard to believer the preseason is upon us and soon the regular season will be too. I'm hoping my local stations pick up the game. I don't get NFL network. My top item is one I'll have to wait for. I want to see how Trubisky does. I'll be watching how smooth the center QB exchange is and how well he's transitioning from primarily shot gun in college to being under center here. Also how smooth are his drops, his footwork, pocket presence, and accuracy both deep and short. After Mr Butt Fumble, he'll probably look like a breath of fresh air lol. Not sure how much he'll play before Shaw goes in. I'd…

I started the league a little earlier as I will traveling for the next few weeks and didn't want to wait until then to get this up and running. https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/81323?pspid=782200906&activity=league 9 out of 10 teams confirmed for this year before the end of last season, with one team in need of a new GM (drafting 4th). I will need to re-confirm with those 9 and bring on one new GM. So if anyone is interested in joining our Keeper league, just let me know. Current League Fields of Dreams (Adam) MotM (Steve) Nips&Tips (JTCStone) Nopper (Bill) PapaBear (Kam) SAVAGEw/LOOSEMORALS! (Brad) The Bunny…
