Bearstalk

Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  2. Started by adam,

Post Week 16 games. 2018 was probably the last time the national media had the Bears ranked this high. Here are the top 10 power rankings and the Bears ranking: CBS Sports - 4th Yahoo - 5th NFL.com - 6th Sharp - 6th NBC/PFT - 7th ESPN - 8th The Score - 8th Fox/Brady - 9th USA Today - 9th nfelo - 10th Average - 7.2 It feels like any team in the top 10 has a shot at the Super Bowl, the Rams are the closest to a complete team and they just lost to the Seahawks. If the Bears beat the 49ers, they have to be considered a top 5 team, which is hard to believe, and it is wild to see some rankings already have them in the top 5.

  5. PART DEUX in our house. Biggest game since 2018. Looks like Parsons may have torn is ACL, tough break for GB, but that significantly changes this game. DEN just put up 34 on GBs defense and the Bears scored 21 (would've been 24) last week with Parsons in all game. So the Bears should be projected to score 27 or 28. They may have lost Watson too, but that is too soon to know. He has 5 TDs in the last 5 games and had scored 2 against the Bears. That would be another huge loss.

    Weird to see Bears as leading vote getters, 4 OL on the list, 14 total players in the top 10. The top 4 guys should be in consideration for All Pro, Dalman, Thuney, and Byard should be 1st Teamers. Wright, just because of name recognition will probably lose out to Horn or Surtain for 1st Team All-Pro. OC - Dalman - NFC1 / NFL2 OG - Thuney - NFC1 / NFL1 FS - Byard - NFC1 / NFL1 CB - Wright - NFC2 / NFL2 KR - Duvernay - NFC2 / NFL3 ST - Blackwell - NFC2 / NFL4 OT - Wright - NFC4 / NFL4 OG - Jackson NFC3 / NFL7 DE - Sweat - NFC3 / NFL7 LS - Daly - NFC5 / NFL5 QB - Williams - NFC4 / NFL7 P - Taylor - NFC5 / NFL10 TE - Loveland - NFC6 / NF…

Not all stats tell the story intended, but this is interesting nonetheless.

  8. Started by adam,

Early on there were a lot of concerns about the Bears picking Loveland over Warren (or a DT, Edge, or OT). Warren came out of the gate on fire and was really looking like one of the best TEs in the league while Loveland was still recovering from surgery and getting limited playing time. Right now Warren's raw stats look better, but those are essentially padded by playing time. Warren has 200 more offensive snaps than Loveland and 41 more targets. However, since November, Loveland has been one of the best TEs in the league. In that span, he beats Warren in every category. Warren has been pretty bad the last few weeks, with only 8 catches on 21 targets, for a tot…

There are two guys that stand out for me when you consider their draft status and or contract vs performance this year. So far on offense, that is Monangai who has 731 Rush Yards, only 97 fewer rushing yards than Jeanty, but with 69 fewer carries. He also has 140 receiving yards on 14 receptions. With 871 Yards from Scrimmage, he only needs 129 total yards to hit 1K with 2 games left. For a 7th Rounder, that is some crazy production. The Bears are 7-1 when Mongagai gets at least 12 touches, and 4-3 when he doesn't. Feed him! On defense, it is Nahshon Wright. 5 INTs and 2 FF, 1 TD, and 11 PD. The Bears are 6-1 when he forces a turnover, and the only loss was the…

Dude has terrible vision. Should probably have another 50+ yds this year. Whatโ€™s the cap hit if heโ€™s cut at the end of the year?

  11. Started by adam,

I have not been the biggest fan, mainly due to his lack of range, but his kicks tonight with the wind and the onside kick were amazing. This was arguably the best game of his career.

  12. Started by adam,

Still lead the league in Net Penalties -25, and Net Penalty Yards -318. Over the course of 15 games, they have lost a games worth of yardage to penalties compared to the other team. That is equal to a full game lost.

  13. This is now a must-win, mainly because the Bears have to win games they are favored to win at home. With GB playing in DEN and DET playing LAR, there is a chance that both GB and DET lose, and CHI wins, which would reset the division back to the way it was before the loss to GB, making the Week 16 rematch even that much more important. CLE's defense is no joke. They are pretty much a top 5 defense across the board. Their offense looks more explosive with Sanders at QB. This is going to be an ugly FG war. Bears 20-16.

Is he making Tremaine Edmundโ€™s expendable this off-season? Best defense grades LB D'Marco Jackson: 93.5 DE Joe Tryon-Shoyinka: 90.4 NCB C.J. Gardner-Johnson: 80.3 DT Chris Williams: 77.7 LB T.J. Edwards: 74.6

  17. Here we go. I don't think I would ever imagine that I would be talking about the 9-3 1st Place Chicago Bears playing the 8-3-1 Green Bay Packers in Week 14, but here we are. This is going to be another weather game with game time temps in the teens, chance of snow and some light wind. Until this team loses, it is hard to bet against them right now. I am going to say 24-20 Bears in another one-score game.

All year itโ€™s been kind of the same. Flashes of brilliance mixed with horrific accuracy and suspect mechanics. I keep waiting for a huge, breakout game. A ridiculous game that displays why he was the #1 pick. Something that shows him carrying the team instead of just being part of it. Then one or two fairly dominating games where he puts up big stats. Hell, even Shadeur Sanders had one today. So how long is his leash? Heโ€™s clearly not performing like a #1 pick when missing simple throws and obvious reads. The last play of the game was a brutal demonstration of both. He made the read very late when the WR was wide open. Then made a weak throw with poor anticipati…

So I think we can safely say that some of the preseason can be correlated to the regular season. Special Teams was an issue in the preseason, and it was also in Week 1. On punts, MIN's PR Price averaged 17.0 on his returns (which is crazy). Duvernay averaged 9.3. The Bears lost 31 net yards in punt coverage. Wright was 7-333 on punts averaging 47.6. Taylor was 6-266 for only 44.3 per punt. So the Bears lost another 20 net yards in just punts. That is 51 lost yards without the offense or defense on the field, which basically equates to at least 3 pts. I don't know how a punter loses 10 yards off his punts from college to the pros. Then our glorious Capt…
