1. If I was Jay Cutler, I would either demand that in the offseason they make a valiant effort to improve the OL or I would demand a trade. He's a human being; how much more of a beating can he take? Meanwhile, they invest $20m/season in him but do nothing to help. They have midgets out there at WR, Kellen Davis can't block, and their OL is trash. 2. Considering the circumstances, I think the defense did fine. The DL didn't get pressure but a lot of Brees' throws were quick ones. If they had more rest, they would've played better. 3. With two games down, the Bears future needs may have shifted a little. Brandon McGowan once again went down and the Bears must plan to go on with out him, so finding another S has shifted up on the Bears big board. As the world knows, the Bears also need to find a QB that won't just be counted on to be a game manager, but can be relied upon to give them a chance to win a game also. The Bears also need to continue rebuilding the OL and should look at Tampa/Carolina as a model. From the sound of it, negotiations are picking up. The Sun Times is reporting Harris' camp has received a new offer from the Bears. Harris was supposed to meet w/ Rosenarce to discuss the offer. The Sun Times was also showing the top 3 DT contracts The article talks about how Harris is going to want to be paid more than any on this list, and any offer from the bears below Kelly's, would likely not go over well. I think we discussed the "dark horse" contenders earlier in the season and I don't want to necessarily tip my hat to *unnamed poster*, but I believe he picked Frey (at least I think it was him) to be that candidate. So far, Frey has been pretty impressive. I see a 'Corey Graham' type of player in the making and there almost is no doubt he (Frey) is the current starting Nickel back. 7:20pm, Sunday Night Football, September 9th, Bears +8, Over/Under 47.5, NBC This felt like the longest preseason ever! I am so ready for real football. Here is what I think about the Week 1 matchup with the Fudge Packers: Based on last year's numbers, the Bears have the better defense, and you could argue now have better RB's, WR's, and TE's. The Packers have Graham, Adams, Cobb, and Montgomery compared to Burton, Robinson, Miller, Gabriel, Howard, and Cohen. I am not even counting Shaheen or White. The guy has been MIA in the offense for the most part till he was involved a few times this week. In past seasons he was our go to guy. Is it that Kyle's comfort level with Olsen is higher than his comfort level with Clark? Or is Des just not as sharp this year. He had what could have been a very boneheaded mistake by getting the ball punched out at the end of that reception. He owes Davis dinner for saving his arse by following the play. Just seems like he's been non-existent for the most part. I had thought they'd lean on him more then they have.. and maybe he had a slow start but is coming on.
