Reading a Q&A w/ Matt Mosley, who is a local guy for the Cowgirls, and knows the Eagles well, he was asked to name 3 weaknesses for Phily. His response, Chris Gocong is playing out of position at MLB, so he's thinking too much rather than reacting right now...Moise Fokou is a rookie starting on the strong-side. That's a mistake waiting to happen...And the Eagles don't have enough bodies in the secondary. When you have Dimitri Patterson covering Antonio Gates one-on-one late in a game, you have big-time problems. If their MLB is a weak spot, I hope to see a lot of (a) slants and ( more Forte receptions. If their SLB is a rookie, and struggling, that …

Okay, I am sure many have read about this by now, but it is being reported that we (Bears) are playing some games w/ the media. Sunday nights game is on NBC, and it appears standard operating procedure is for Bob Costas to interview numerous players/ personnel from each team. Well, the bears refused to have anyone appear for Costas, and NBC was forced to use some local media guys to give insight leading up to the game. There are going to be a couple trains of thought. Some will say, "who cares. Its about what happens on the field, not off." To an extent, I can understand this belief. But more and more, I just disagree. We have all heard the phrase "percep…

  4. Mike Brown named AFC defensive player of the week Posted by Michael David Smith on November 18, 2009 10:41 AM ET Kansas City Chiefs safety Mike Brown picked off two passes in Sunday's win over the Oakland Raiders, and today he learned that he's been named the AFC defensive player of the week. It's the second player of the week award of Brown's career; he won an NFC defensive player of the week award in 2001, when he played for the Bears. Brown is the first Chiefs safety to win the award since Jerome Woods in 1997. Both of Brown's interceptions came off Raiders backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, who came in after JaMarcus Russell was benched. The first int…

  5. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...sman-19.article 6 reasons why the Bears' franchise is inept November 19, 2009 Even if Rex Grossman's dad is wrong, does that make the Bears right? Whether or not the Bears failed Rex Grossman or Rex Grossman failed the Bears, the point is still the same: the Bears haven't had a "franchise" quarterback since Sid Luckman. In fact, the Bears haven't even had an offense that ranks higher than 15th in the NFL in Jerry Angelo's nine seasons as general manager. They've been 26th or lower in seven of his first eight full seasons. Sorry, but that's a far bigger problem than Dan Grossman. The Tribune rushed to the B…

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/mulligan/18...ully20.article# First off, the title says it for me,"I'm Not Alarmed". At this juncture, it's like the boy that gets punched by his big brother and with tears welling up in his eyes, says "It didn't hurt". I highlighted the most disturbing portion of this article. Since when is NOT about work ethic and effort?? Work ethic and effort lead to execution. Execution and knowing you can duplicate it is what breeds confidence. Didn't Angie and Lovie call out the team a couple years ago for being over-confident? Now Angie is saying that's what it's all about. Trust me, I get what he is trying to say, but I thin…

from profootballtalk.com Garrett Wolfe to miss remainder of season Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 20, 2009 9:45 AM ET It would be hard for the Bears rushing attack to get much worse, but it just took another body blow. Backup Garrett Wolfe will miss the rest of the season with a lacerated kidney, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times. The injury was learned about two weeks ago, but there was some hope he could return this season. "He's a great kid and it's unfortunate,'' Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo said. ``I was hoping he would start integrating more into the offense and [offensive coordinator] Ron [Turner] was using him more in practices…

  10. http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/professor/...-of-nbc-is.html Bears bunker mentality nothing new; snub of NBC is .Brad Palmer on 11.19.09 | 1 comment | .The Bears have long had a bunker mentality at Halas Hall. It is born out of arrogance and insecurity, bordering on paranoia and can be traced to Michael McCaskey (the man behind the curtain) and Jerry Angelo. A decade or so ago, I was doing a live-shot for Channel 7 in the comfort of one of the Bears meeting rooms at the original Halas Hall, having been given permission by the public relations director because of a snowstorm. McCaskey happened by and said I should be outside, snowstorm or not. …

Per an NFP piece written by his former agent, Ricky Williams came very close to declaring for the draft after his junior year. The Bears reportedly preferred Williams to Curtis Enis, and this agent thinks they would have drafted Ricky had he declared in 1998. ...so instead of going to Ditka in New Orleans, he could have easily been a Bear. What do you guys think?

For the record, the offense was terrible. I realize that. But I am getting tired of this D getting a pass, or some saying they played well. Maybe if we compare this game to the cincy or Az games, then sure, they played well. But only if we set the bar that low. On the ground, this unit should be embarrassed. Yet another week where a RB puts up season best numbers. Hell, KC did a better job holding McCoy than we. I am sure Lovie will crow about holding McCoy under 100 yards since he only had 99. Oh yea. And a 5 ypc avg. And we gave up a total of 157 rushing yards on the day. D.Jackson has not gone for 100 yards since week 3, but found little trouble a…

I gained more respect for Donavan after the game. I can't read lips but seeing him seek out Jay and take him aside to talk to him to me shows a lot of class. It was hard to make out what he was saying but I like that he made it a point to talk to him and look to encourage him. It's good to remember that the players really do look out for one another at the end of the day.

One thing I have noticed in seeing film on Cutler in Denver VS Chicago is his mechanics. At times his mechanics with the Bears are atrocious. One thing my brother picked up in camp is that he thought Cutler practiced lazy. In asking him why he thought this a concern; he simply stated "you practice like you play". My brother, being a qualified leader of men through many years with the Marines expounded his assessment by stating by going hard all the time, you get used to where people will be in battle and /or game situations. Most importantly, when everyone works there ass off for a common goal it develops a steeliness that translates into more fight when it matters. …

Trade Hester and Olsen and use the value you get to upgrade the line of scrimmage. - Hester will never be much better than he is now and, at this point, he is at best a #2 receiver. He needs to be a slot receiver and I see Knox as the exact same player who is younger with more upside as a receiver. - Olsen is an ok receiving TE (should be much better) who is a horrible blocker. I would rather get K Davis on the field more. Further, it seems Cutler zeros in on him on every play. Peace
