  1. RT @vxmcclure23: Bears announce they will move forward from Brian Urlacher after not reaching an agreement.
  2. BUMP RT @josephperson: #Bears have offered CB Captain Munnerlyn a 1-year deal, per league source. #Panthers might try to match it.
  3. Everyone loves this still? RG3 got hurt running. The same will happen to Kaepernick and Wilson, and in this case, Cutler. This is stupid. I bet everyone wanted them to run the wildcat too. How is the wildcat doing now?
  4. Unless you're bringing Al Davis back from the dead, this is unlikely.
  5. La Canfora agrees, saying the Bears, Browns, and Jets are "in the mix."
  6. I agree. I just feel there are too many holes on this team to take one in round 1 or 2 this year.
  7. RT @mortreport: Teams interested in Matt Hasselbeck: AZ, Buff, Chi, Cin, Cleve, Indy, NO, NYG, SF & Tampa,...and list could grow.
  8. Charlie, who posts mocks on WF, has: 1. Alec Ogletree, MLB, Georgia 2. Dallas Thomas, G, Tennessee 4. Ryan Otten, TE, San Jose State 5. Tharold Simon, CB, LSU
  9. I would seriously wager that by 2018, the quarterbacks won't be able to be knocked down any longer.
  10. See, I'm not a doctor, but those guys who gave Jake Long a 15 hour physical for the Rams and told their head coach he's ready to play? They are doctors. Dude, that $2m doesn't exactly come off the cap and make it $3.45. They had 7.01 and gave Bushrod 7m/year and Bennett 5/year. By your math, they are now $5m OVER. The signing bonuses and guaranteed money lower the cap hit. If Bushrod got 5/35 and his cap hit was only 3 million, they could've given Long $9m/year and had the cap hit only $4m. It's not like $9m/year=$9/cap hit. Most of these signings will be. As I said in the Bennett thread, the great organizations- SF, BAL, PIT, NE, DEN, GB- what have they done in FA? The Pats signed Amendola, Denver signed Welker, GB signed nobody, Pittsburgh signed nobody, Baltimore signed a veteran after losing half of their team, and San Francisco? Exactly.
  11. Long is good. Bushrod is an average LT who made the Pro Bowl because the Saints offense was so good. People all over the country are giving the Bears horrible grades for that signing. A torn tricep is fixed with surgery. It's not like it's a bad neck injury. He'll be fine. That's false. They still have $5.45 left. Fitting 2 more million wouldn't have prevented signing Bennett at all. If you consider Bushrod and Bennett's total cap hits combined were around $5, that means Long + Bushrod could've been around $6, which like I said, still would give the Bears enough money to keep Urlacher, Idonije, and Campbell
  12. RT @jthom1: LT Jake Long signs four-year deal with Rams. Can earn up to $36 million. Only 9/year? Christ. For an extra 2 million annually minus 1 year, Long >>>> Bushrod. Ugh
  13. Josh Johnson isn't high upside. He's a guy who's been in the league for 5 years and doesn't even have 1000 passing yards. This will be his 3rd team which means 2 teams couldn't develop him. Pass.
  14. Trading down out of the first gets you an extra 2nd, a 3rd, and a 7th (maybe the 7th). If you trade down in the 1st, you likely only pick up a 3rd or a 4th, depending on how many slots you move down. There is no point in "developing" QB's anymore. Newton, Tannehill, Luck, RG3, etc all come in now and play immediately. College football is so strong now in terms of development that these guys are reading to go right away. If they take Mike Glennon in round 2, everyone will be pissed and it'll be unncecessary. If Cutler isn't the guy after this year, take a QB in round 1 in 2014.
  15. This once again proves my statement- Pompei is a f***ing moron. Draft a QB early? That is idiotic. The Bears could use a WR, DT, G, T, CB, and C all before a QB. So now instead of going best G or best C available in round 2, they should take a QB? What if Barrett Jones or Robert Woods is on the board in round 2 but so is Mike Glennon? Give me Jones OR Woods. I understand taking a QB somewhere in the draft. But fairly early? They only have 5 picks, 3 of which are in round 4 or later.
  16. Allen is back, yes. He signed the other day. Clowney would be amazing next year. He's arguably the most gifted DE to ever come out of college. I read something where a scout said if he was eligible to go to the NFL from high school, he would've been a top 10 pick. Unfortunately, the Bears would have to go 1-15/2-14 to be able to draft him, so that won't happen, at least let's hope not. I wouldn't mind taking Lattimore, but the Bears have bigger needs- OLB, MLB, DT, G, T, WR- to take a RB in round 4. If he happens to fall to round 5 or 6, which is unlikely I know, then I'd look at him.
  17. Relax. He works out in Nashville. He was on 1000 the other day and said he's been working out a lot. With Trestman they get an extra workout in anyway so he'll have plenty of time to throw with the Bennett's, Rodriguez, Marshall, and Jeffeey.
  18. Please, I beg of you all, stop with the "McClellin to OLB" ideas. Enough. He is a 4-3 DE right now. He had a rough rookie year. So did Jason Pierre Paul. I bet Giants fans wish they would've moved him to OLB! There is a reason that Brad Biggs makes fun of the idea daily on twitter- because it's stupid.
  19. I'd hate this draft. WR then?
  20. Guys, Jennings will be 30 in September. He gets hurt every year. He's not a huge threat anymore. This is another case of a team overpaying big time for an average player. This doesn't make Minnesota any better. I know it's news when a divisional team signs a guy but between Glover Quin, Reggie Bush and Greg Jennings, none of those guys are superstars and they don't make their teams MUCH better. If Minnesota had any corners or a quarterback, I'd be worried.
