The issue I have is that the same teams that are in the race EVERY year never do anything in free agency. That is why drafting is the key. What has New England, Green Bay, Atlanta, Giants, Ravens, Steelers done this offseason? Signed what, 3 players who played elsewhere in 2012? I hope the Bears can be in that position soon. Meanwhile Miami and Indianapolis spent money like clowns, and in 3 years, half of the guys they signed will be playing on other teams.

I doubt they could trade down and still get Warmack. If Warmack/Cooper are there at 20, take them. If their guy isn't there in round 2, trade down and get a lower 2nd plus a 5th, and go from there. Coming out of this draft with Warmack/Cooper,Brown/Greene,Schwenke/BWRA isn't bad.

If you're listening to 670, those guys don't have many sources honestly. I will say though that I agree with Balta. He's probably just feeling his way around the league, picking up some free Hilton points in random cities with the addition of a few dinners at 5* restaurants nationwide, and figuring out what other teams will offer. I believe his first choice is to be back in Chicago. He and his agent will likely see the offers they get and tell the Bears to get close/match/go beyond it and he'll be a Bear in 2013 and possibly 2014.

Tyrann Mathieu is currently on NFL AM and wow, I don't know what to think of him. He admits he only benched 4 reps at the combine because "his focus was on keeping a tight circle, staying off weed and having a 4.4 40." The issue I have with that is if he has to use so much of himself to just keep normal friends and stay off an illegal drug, that situation is rough. Another issue I have is that he put that put focus into a 40 to run a 4.4 and still couldn't. Mathieu also claims he had to be told a couple times to stop and still didn't. Oh, and he said if he got drafted by New Orleans, he'd have to find a way to stay out of trouble. Ouch. I still think he could be a steal but man, I don't know about round 4 anymore.

I don't see Schwenke lasting until round 4.

30 hours ago, Tennessee and Denver needed a G, but they signed Levitre and Vazquez respectively. On that note, only 2 teams now before the Bears need one- San Diego and Dallas. If one of those two take a G, I could see Cooper or Warmack falling to the Bears. Some think Cooper will go before Warmack due to his athletic ability and versatility (G or C). I'd be ecstatic with either.

I'd love this. Pick up a 2nd, 3rd and 7th or a lower 1st and a 3rd. However if they trade down with Cooper/Warmack on the board, I'd be pissed.

I have no insight here, but I'm almost certain that Roach will be gone. Urlacher could be back as could Louis and Idonije.
