Potential DC's should be frothing at the mouth to try to give our guys a spin! As good as Marinelli might have been...as good as Smith might have been...are we so certain, a good many others couldn't do similar or better? I'm OK with it either way. But as far as DC jobs go...we should have to beat candidates away with a stick.

If it's indeed up to him, I respect the Bears' call on that. For the years of service, they are giving him the choice. I just hope they decide quickly. If we need a new DC, I'd like to get one in place. Based on his previous dealings, I would imagine Emery to do just that.

I'm so happy as a Bears fan! We are acting like a real franchise! 1. Emery did his due diligence 2. We hired outside the box 3. We struck fast on outstanding OC, and ST hires 4. Don't care. I just want to see some passion. If it comes calculated, so be it. From what I've seen on interviews andhighlights, he seems very mild, but also very intense and very cordial. It's not Jauron or Smith. I sense this guy will be animated in his own right on the sideline. He looks like a general. Not a deer in headlights. I can't wait!
