  1. bowlingtwig & marked both came in with 12 wins this week, with bowlingtwig inching out marked for 1st place with the tie-breaker. Great job fella. Looks like this is going to be a tough contest this year. 2 weeks with lots of games left, a lot of entrants with some very impressive scores. As of the end of week 2 - 58.1% is 12th place. That winning percentage usually will take first place by the end of the year in previous year results.
  2. There are few elite teams this year, we saw 2 of the better ones last night in Dallas & Philly. Pittsburgh, Denver, NYG, and SD (despite 2 losses) are right up there. I agree, the Philly game is going to be a TOUGH one.
  3. 2nd and long is Prophet on the forum. You could PM him through the forum or email him through the Yahoo FF site.
  4. Agreed, if Olsen does not make those two fumbles, we probably win the game. This thread, just as the ones calling for Orton's benching would not appear on the forum (except for the die hard Rex fans who would be calling for Orton's benching no matter what happens).
  5. If Olsen does not make those two fumbles do we win the game, yes. Would we have this thread, probably not. Would we talking bringing in Rex, probably not.
  6. I know at the time we traded him there were no tears shed on the forum at Bearstalk. He had not performed for us like he is in Carolina and many of us were happy with the draft pick we received for him. Like you said, hindsight is 20/20.
  7. This game is going to be tough. Hopefullty we can squeek it out. The Philly game scares the crap out of me. They are playing great so far, I know it is early, but if McNabb stays healthy along with Westbrook, and their aggressive defense style, they are going to be tough to beat.
  8. Excellent article Noots. Thanks for your insight into the Bears. I value your opinions very highly!
  9. The Picksheet for week 2 is now ready to go. Be sure to get your selections in before 11 AM CST this Sunday the 14th. http://www.talkbears.com/Contests/index.htm I will be uploading selections made daily, starting tomorrow night (Wednesday). We will see how this works out and go from there. Good luck this week!
  10. I loved this bit from the Daily Herald, actually got a good laugh out of it to start my day. Some NFL Predictions to make you laugh or cry

....... to congratulate you on beating everyone in the weekly pick'ems contest. 13-3 to start the year off, WOW! You are a marked man now, we will all be gunning for you! LOL Here is a link to this weeks results: Week 1 Pick'em Results
  12. Agree with you on this one. The Bears need a minimum of a 60% run to 40% pass ratio to be successful, IMO. Run that ball with success like in week 1 and we will win a mess of games this year.
  13. Congratulations to BearFan2000 who comes out swinging the big lumber and collecting 13 wins in week 1!! Outstanding job! Now be careful, there are a few games left to select and we are gunning for ya! LOL Here are the results from week 1: Pick'em Results from Week 1
  14. Thanks for that info, very interesting information from a guy I respect a lot for his football IQ.
  15. Will they sign Simms? No, I am sure he will go to NEP
  16. I am telling you guys, from what I say I am not at all impressed by Minny. Their pass defense still sucks, J Allen was manhandled by Clifton all night, their secondary sucks. They put good heat on the QB but if they do not get to the QB they get torched. Aaron Rogers had an excellent 1st game as a result of the soft Minny secondary. Grant broke a nice one against a very good Minny run defense. However, I am not convinced that they are that good. I think they will struggle this year. We know Detroit sucks. This division is now, IMO, offically up for grabs.
  17. I have lost track of how many penalties the 2 teams have had called in the game so far. Minny still sucks on Pass Defense, making Rogers look much better than he is.
  18. Exactly right, Manning was taking advantage of what the defense was offering. Because of the pressure Manning was forced to go with short slant patterns verses the vertical game he prefers. That is the way to beat the Colts (along with stopping the run, which we did an excellent job!)
  19. I am getting a bit concerned over some of the plays I see from Vasher. I love this guy and we all know how much his absence hurt our defense last year. However, my concern is, it seems like every time I turn around he is being made to look bad when trying to tackle. I know Addai made him "wiff" a tackle and look bad, and then another Colt had him spun around for another "wiff". he needs to start tackling better in the open.
  20. I thought Babbich had an excellent game plan, but far more important, the Bears defensive players executed the plan. Babbich gets far too much blame when the Bears players fail to execute his plan. When we have bad games, it is not always because of the "PLAN" but sometimes because of the players failing to execute it. With the defensive players we have - all in pretty good health right now - I expect to see them play like last night.

    It's over!!!

How sweet it is. I hope all of those ranting about how bad the Bears Suck, Angelo Sucks, the Coaching Sucks, etc... How the Bears are going to get their asses handed to them, etc... enjoy their "Crow" for all three meals today. I know this will not automatically put us in the SB. However, we can enjoy this week and hope we can continue to improve as a team against Carolina next week. Carolina just upseat SDC so I am sure they are pumped as well. I doubt many had the Bears and Panthers knocking off the Chargers and Colts.
  22. Yes, thank you, thank you, I was running seriously low on my supply of Kool Aide and now have my tank back up to Full. LOL
