  1. I was pissed when they let Robbie Gould go, he was an outstanding placekicker for us. I hope this new PK we signed away from the Dolphins is as good as everyone seems to proclaim he is. I have Never been a big fan of our Punter. Now I see one of the best punters in the NFL over the past few years, Marquette King, has been released from Oakland. I hope that Pace signs this guy!
  2. Hope this helps with our injury problems, certainly can't hurt: Bears hire Andre Tucker as head athletic trainer, Jason Loscalzo as strength coach Washington State strength and conditioning coach Jason Loscalzo to join Chicago Bears

    HOF game

Since Nagy had been with Andy Reid for so long, does anyone know what Reid's system was for preseason games? Did he keep his starters sidelined as much as possible to try to limit injuries? Was Reid an all-out tough training camp guy or did he back-off and try to stay healthy? If we could look into how Reid handled training camp and preseason games it might give us an idea of what to expect, as I assume Nagy would have a tendency to do the same.
  4. Is that good or bad news?

    Matt Nagy

Here is a link to a rather long article but very informative, basically giving a lot of information on Nagy's past. I found some of it very interesting, some a bit boring, but in the end was happy I took time to read it as I feel I have a better understanding of him on the personal side. Now with Nagy as HC, I hope: DeFilippo agrees to become OC after not getting a HC gig (too early to tell) Fangio, Nagy, and Pace work it out where he remains DC That is a threesome I would love to see

Yes, I was just reading another article and realized my mistake, and see where TD is coming from. My mistake.

Sounds like to me he has two years experience as OC according to this quote:
  9. If I was the owner of the Cleveland Browns I would be doing everything I could to get him as my GM.
  10. Pace is interviewing DeFilippo today. I still like this guy.
  11. And in my opinion, that is why it is impossible to know for sure about DeFillippo DeFillippo is a QB coach who many think will make a good OC He is suppose to be an excellent QB guru, developing them But, as you mentioned, the success of a QB also requires an OC who knows which plays to call and when against a defense. In Philly, DeFillippo did not have the chance to do that, so if he did, would he have done a better job than Philly's current OC and therefore give Wentz a chance to have a higher completion % and even greater success? Let's face it, hiring a HC is a crap shoot. There have been many hired by teams that I thought would be great and failed, and vica versa
  12. I see where Pat Shurmur was interviewed by Pace. After reading the article I must admit I would not be upset if they hired him as HC, although I would still prefer the QB coach from Philly. Pace Interviews Pat Shurmer, OC MN, for HC Position
  13. Right on, Gase will be the HC/OC. Loggains will be his puppet.
  14. My preference would be Defillippo. I just have a good feeling he could develop Mitch, which is a huge concern.
  15. My opinion, for what it is worth, hire Fangio as HC. I like the way our defense is progressing and I wouldn't be surprised to see him offered a HC gig somewhere in 2018, and if we change HC the new HC would probably want his own DC. By hiring Fangio as HC (I know many wanted an offensive guru as HC) we retain some continuity. He has enough of a solid rep around the league I have to believe he could attract a good group of coaches to come in and get this team straightened out.
  16. I found this article on Tarik Cohen that I really enjoyed. Where Did Human Joystick and Bears Difference-Maker Tarik Cohen Come From? You may want to check it out.
  17. I know draft picks are valuable and I do not like to see them traded away but unless there is something about Kelvin Benjamin I do not know I would have pulled the trigger on that trade. I think Buffalo got a real bargain. Every game I have seen KB in he has impressed me.
  18. The sad part is that it wasn't just the two bad snaps that were near the end zone that everyone is talking about. I saw several other snaps that Trubisky had to struggle to control that were errant as well. That in itself can throw off a QB's timing and in the case of a rookie QB with little experience could cause some confidence issues. It is bad enough to ask a rookie QB to play with an OC's questionable play calling, an OL struggling to protect him, WRs who drop way too many passes & run wrong routes but then throw in the bad snaps ... this is ugly! Tubisky has done extremely well, IMO, considering how his supporting cast on the Offense has let him down. Thankfully we have a good running game and a solid defense or it would be far worse.
  19. Mitch spent most of his time before the start of the season working with the backups to White & Meredith. Those players are now starters since our #1 & #2 WRs are on iR. I think this development might have set Glennon back a bit HOWEVER, I also think it might benefit Trubisky in that he may actually have a better chemistry built up with our current WR starters than Glennon does. Yes, Mitch will struggle, that is to be expected, but he might just progress a lot faster then many think!

    Glennon

Like almost everyone else I am anxious to see Trubisky at QB. However, I have been thinking about this. Our OL has sucked in providing protection for our QB Our WRs probably lead the league in dropped passes We have no deep threat to stretch the field, teams are stacking the box and blitzing without worry Do we really want to throw Trubisky into a situation like that? Thinking about it, very few established QBs in this league would succeed under those circumstances.

    What if...

The Bears start the season against what was considered one of the toughest schedules for the opening 4 weeks. My guess is that Pace & Fox did not want to, under any circumstances, start Trubisky during that stretch of 4 games. If Glennon is still sucking hind tit after the first 4 games I would not be at all surprised to see Trubisky take over. Just my opinion, but I think the earliest we see a change is week 5 or 6.
  23. He is still raw when it comes to pass protect skills. Glennon was getting pressured and hit far too often during the entire game so I am sure that fact came into play with the coaches decisions on personnel also.
  24. What I read (Chicago Sun-Times) was that along with the signing of Alford that they were also expecting the promotion of Gentry from the Practice Squad to the main roster. Nothing confirmed but it sounded like they were pretty certain. Alford is fast, running the 40-yard dash in 4.32 and 4.27 seconds at his pro day in 2015. (per the Sun-Times).
  25. I also agree. Do not pick up 5th year option (unless he returns this year and proves to be a legitimate #1 WR) Then let him play year 4 on his rookie deal to have one last opportunity to prove he can be worth resigning. (When do you have to decide on the 5th year option, is it before year 4 begins?)
