For the first time I can recall there are teams who have stated they are playing NO starters in game 3 of preseason. I know I saw this mentioned on NFL.com but cannot find it now, of course, LOL. I think it is wise for teams who are not installing new systems. Too many injuries this preseason. Teams need to play it safe. I suspect the Bears are satisfied with Acho, do not want to risk injury, and will give others a shot to make the roster. I would prefer to see a lot of "bubble players" tonight and not risk any more injuries to starters prior to the start of the season. Just my take.

Weekend Draft please. Any time Saturday or Sunday is fine by me.
-
OK, now on NFL.com I read it was an injury sustained in practice earlier in the week Odd we did not hear about this until now.
-
I heard that also but what confuses me (does not take much) is I do not recall AJ even playing in the game ala Forte. I thought he was given the night off Did he step on a bar of soap in the shower? LOL

I know there are a good number of posters who enjoy $$$ Leagues in FF Therefore I would assume some might also be interested in a good Pick'em League I use to play every year at a site called 6DaysToSumday I had to skip out for a few years do to time restraints but have signed up for the games this year If anyone is interested it is the best Pick'ems I have seen, a lot of different pools to play I signed up for everything except the team pool (3 players in the weekly pool combine into a team entry) If there are any of you interested in this league and sign up let me know and maybe we can combine for the team pool option Hope this is not intrusive to post this recommendation here. Just felt that some of you might be interested in this site, good payouts, a lot of participants, safe and secure.

I agree, this would be the first year for both aspects, which is what has me wondering if it was in error during setup or if the changes were made for a reason. I know some managers in our league have indicated they would like it to be changed to a keeper league. However, I would think a change like this would be discussed before implemented. It is possible the lack of openings for live draft times may have caused a need to move to an offline draft. I have been playing FF for a very very long time and have never had an offline draft so this would be foreign to me and would like to know if indeed it will be offline. Hopefully the Commish will clarify.

I signed up for the free league for 2015 however 2 questions I asked on the pool site have not been answered and I need clarification. In the league setup there is an indication that this is a keeper league, has it now been changed to a keeper league for 2015? In the league setup it is indicating this will be an offline draft, is this true?
-
I know for sure he mentioned he would not play in the free league in 2015. Not sure about the $$ league.

Aaron Kromer is in trouble, big time, I see a suspension coming soon...... Assult & Battery on a minor........ Article from NFL.com Turns out he is a real jerk, assuming all of this info is true. Happy he is no longer associated with the Bears.

I saw that, for a 5th round pick they might have a steal. Not that much of a risk, 5th rounders usually struggle to contribute right away and are often cut or stashed on a PS. So I think the Rams were smart to roll the dice on a low risk high reward prospect by giving up a 5th in next years draft. He may be gone and a total flop or he might wind up being a quality OL starter.

I would love to see the Bears enter a draft with extra picks stockpiled. It seems every year we enter the draft with less picks than rounds. So the thought of giving up a future draft pick to obtain a promising prospect is questionable in my mind. Especially when the prospect has a few question marks, however small they are. It appears that Isaiah Battle is a highly regarded OT prospect, one who could possibly anchor an OL on the left side for a long time. So would you roll the dice on him? Bleachers Report Article (Not a big fan of BR site but this article has decent info)

It would be great to have you join us but if you would prefer to be just in the $$$ league I am not sure it would be fair to you to be in a league that you really did not want to participate in. Just think it over, if your heart isn't into the free league you may not want to join. Your call.
-
If the free league is to remain active we will with out a doubt need new posters on the forum to join once the league admin kicks things off. We only had 10 teams last year although we would have preferred to have 12 teams to make it more competitive. Several of last year's teams have decided to not participate this year (Stinger & Bowlingtwig). I am just guessing since all team captains have not chimed in but my thought is we will need a minimum of 2 to 3 new teams to maintain a 10 team league, 4 to 5 new teams to bring it back to the optimum 12 team set up. Are there any posters, new or old, active or passive, that would be interested in joining the free league? Just trying to prime the pump to get things flowing. I would hate to see the free league shut down do to a lack of active teams.
-
I am still interested in the free league. Hopefully we can add a few new managers to bring it back up to a 12 team league. Dropped to 10 teams last year and I think Bowlingtwig indicated he might not rejoin this year. If that is true we would be down to 9 returning teams.

Since I really do not care for the options listed I vote to leave it as it is. If it isn't broke...........

A writer on NFL.com is speculating that it is quite possible that their backup QB will excel because of the great structure and coaching of the Pats and that as a result they will likely be able to recoup the loss of the 2016 1st round pick by trading the backup QB after the season is over for a 1st rounder. I know it does not have anything to do with this debate but I would not be at all surprised if this becomes reality.
-
Just read on ESPN he is out for the year with a torn ACL. What a nightmare, losing your 1st round draft pick for the year that fast. I hope we are lucky and do not have this type of thing happen to ANY of our players.
-
Want to read about a very smart CB who won by not being chosen in the first 3 rounds?
-
Yes, Immediately after the final pick of the draft all hell breaks loose Will be interesting who is brought in
-
Must admit, first head scratcher for me in this draft. Are they looking for a future replacement for Forte knowing he has a lot of past reps, age, and future contract issues? Can't really say as I obviously do not know their thinking but it obviously says the coaches and GM are not enamored with our present backups for Forte. Like most here I was expecting us to go in a different direction with our 4th rd pick. Jury is out on this one.
-
How can you form such a strong negative opinion of Pace in such a short period of time. He has not had a chance to prove himself a good or bad GM at this point in time. He is still wet behind the ears. That is what I do not understand.
-
If I were GM (good thing I am not, LOL) I would contact his agent, talk to the player, explain we understand his disappointment, that if he signs with us we will expect him to honor his contract until its completion but we would put in a clause that the first year he makes the pro bowl as a LOT we will rework the contract with an extension to a fair payoff for him. No pro bowl no extension guaranteed. I think that would be a fair way to go about it. If, however, on investigating the situation he is in, and I am sure all teams have done so, they feel there is a chance he is in anyway involved in the death of his ex girlfriend, then obviously we pass.
-
I think he indicated it could be a draft pick, an UDFA after the draft, or a FA cut from another team. He did say he liked taking a flyer on a QB every year but he was sort of vague as to the means of adding that QB. That was the impression I got.
-
Yep, heard it several times, said he would not sign a contract if drafted after the 3rd. That being said, would he change his mind? Even if he did, one good year and he would be a hold out wanting a new contract with 1st round money (my guess).
-
It was reported on NFLN that Collins' agent said that if he was not chosen in the first 3 rounds he would sit out a year and enter the draft next year. With that in mind anyone wanting him better dradt him before the night is over or else write him off for this year's draft.
