I'm sure you're right. However, just because they confirm he was the best option to turn to doesn't mean there will not be a big drop-off. I read he was ranked 30 out of 40 qualifying centers in 2025. The encouraging point is that he will be sandwiched between two outstanding guards.

Looking at the players' positions, it is encouraging that they have 3 centers listed. I am very leery of the guy we picked up from NE. Maye was sacked 47 times. Now, it's not all on the Center, but???

Damn, I hate the off-season. I want football! This record has stood for over 70 years. 25 times in NFL history has a quarterback reached 500+ passing yards in a game. But the record still stands. Caleb has said he wants to be the G.O.A.T. - There is a goal for him to achieve. Caleb throws for 555 yards against the Green Bay Packers, who, of course, will find a reason to throw some shade. Okay, I did mention I am bored. ;-)

There are better options. Good against the run? The Giants' defense struggled against the run with him in the lineup. Sacks? Pressure? He had 1/2 of a sack last year. Questions about his conditioning and motor. Doesn't sound like someone I would invest big bucks and draft capital for.

There is a good chance he may still be available when we draft (unless Buffalo, who has a need for a DT, leapfrogs us to grab him) I love the guy, hell of a player, but his recurrence of foot injuries is a major concern.

IMO. Williams, Burden, Loveland, and Odunze are all untouchable. Those four players, with Ben Johnson, are the future of the Bears.

And don't forget about our DBs. Going into the season, I thought our starting DBs were our strength on defense. Then JJ & Gordon go down, and to add to our misery, our #2s, which I thought gave us good depth, became injured.

Wasn't there also talk about Tyrique Stevenson moving to safety? I can't figure Ty out. One minute he sucks, then he kicks ass. I'd love to see him play to his potential (which, IMO, is very high). The two players I'm anxious to see this year are Turner & Frazer. I think Turner can be the disruptor we need on the DL. Frazer (Hope personal issues are resolved) has all the tools to develop into a starting DB.

No kidding, they brutalized the 49ers. So today I was pulling for Buffalo and SFO to win, and both lost. As long as the Bears win and advance to the conference final, I'm celebrating! What an amazing year!

The Bears win 24 to 18 Well, that was the score last year in week 4. (Just watched the replay on NFL Network). The weather wasn't an issue; our OL sucked, Flus was our HC, and we beat the Rams 24 to 18. This week, the weather will be an issue; our OL kicks ass, and BJ is our HC. I hope all of this bodes well. Gotta pull for SF to upset Seattle. If we beat the Rams, I want SF to play on our turf.

I just checked, and it appears the Rams' defense has accomplished something rather amazing in 2025: fewer sacks than the Bears. 😉

Less rest, more travel. eh... However, with the trouble we have in our secondary, Hurts offers less of a challenge than Stafford, as long as we keep him from extending drives with his legs. So maybe Philly. Both teams will be a challenge, given that our D is playing Pee Wee Football.

My understanding (and please correct me if I am wrong) is that if SF beats PHI this afternoon, we host the Rams. If Phi beats SF, we host PHI. I am not anywhere near as familiar with SF & PHI as some of you are. Which team would be the best for the Bears to oppose next week to give us a chance to go to the Conference final? My knee-jerk reaction, since we did so well against them earlier this year, is Philly.

So who will be the HC for GB next year? Would they actually move on from LaFleur? They were supposed to wait until the playoffs were over before deciding whether to sign him to continue as HC. I'm surprised teams consider firing HCs like LaFleur, Harbaugh, Tomilin... They have proven themselves, yet because the team faultered, usually for no fault of the HC, ownership and fans want a change.

Anyone who gave up on the Bears at halftime and turned the game off or left the stadium has to be sick; they missed out on this finale.

11 wins, NFCN title, then win in the postseason to eliminate GB, doesn't get much better.
