  1. Your getting me excited now, LOL. I knew he had been mentioned before but I did not realize until now the extent of his success over the years with other QBs and WRs until I read this article. Seems like a great choice to me, better than the 4 I listed in a previos thread.
  2. If BearFansUnited.org are successful what would you do? The family does not have the money to eat the contracts of Lovie and JA AND hire a big name (Shanahan or ???) to take charge. I personally do not fault JA for our problems. He brought in Cutler. He signed Pace who we all felt would be a great improvement over St Clair (little did we know). He brought in several other OLmen trying to beef up the OL. Was he successful, no, but he did make an attempt to fix a problem and I am sure he will address it again this off season. He tried to go after a #1 WR in Boldin. He has done a good job of finding players for our coaching staff to work with. The problem has been, as we have all said, our coaching staff does not know how to utilize & develop players they are given to work with. They do not know how to make up a good game plan. They do not know how to call a game on offense or defense. So if we retain Phillips, JA, Cliff Stein, the Scouting Staff, etc... we are talking a whole lot less cash involved to dump Lovie and bring in a new group to pull us out of the quagmire we are currently in. So who do we replace Lovie with that will not coat us 25+ million (which Virginia & family could not afford after eating 11 Million from Lovie's deal? Here are a few suggestions I would offer: (in no particular order) Dick LeBeau of the Steelers Dom Capers of Green Bay Jason Garrett of Dallas Russ Grimm of Arizona I am sure there are many other you may want. These are 4 I certainly feel would be excellent candidates. Who would you recommend the Bears consider?
  3. I do not blame the WPF either. A great organization. I am just saying DB is the one causing the controversy they are trying to avoid and then when the WPF asks for their link to be removed from the BFU site, DB has a statement posted on the Score site from a representative of WPF making it sound as if the WPF supports DB's stance.

Hopefully my favorite gift of all time will arrive the week after the season ends, LOL. Merry Christmas everyone. We have had a bunch of Sleet, Ice, Freezing Rain. If it is bad outside where you are, stay home and enjoy. It is not worth risking your life and the lives of others if it is unsafe to travel.
  5. Bernstein is such a jerk. After ConnorBear told me of the objection he (DB) had for the BFU project, I went to the Score website and started reading the Blog about the allegations DB made and must say it wanted to make me puke. He twisted things around & made comments that in my opinion are totally unfounded. He is trying to paint the BFU project linked to by this thread as a scam. He is stating that it is illegally claiming to be a charitable organization. BS! BFU was just offering to donate any money left over to a charity to assure those donating that this "extra money" obtained if the goal was exceeded would not be misused. They targeted the Walter Payton Foundation as the charity that would be donated to. They posted a link to the foundation on the BFU website. They NEVER claimed to be a charitable organization. Their goals were clearly stated. Then DB & Co. contacted Walter Payton Foundation & told them of their opinions of BFU. WPF then contacted BFU to remove the link to their Foundation. A press release was then posted on the Score saying how the WPF requested the link removed (which BFU did quickly as requested). Their reason was they did not want to be associated with anything controversial. The only controversy that I know of was dreamed up by DB. I have lost all respect for Bernstein. If he wanted to disagree with the project, fine. He certainly has his right to do so and express his opinion. That is what he is being paid for. However, he has no right to make misrepresentation of the facts to discredit BFU and try to undermine their efforts. The hell with it. I was going to treat myself to some breakfast this morning but instead of going out I think I will make some toast and coffee and make another donation. I hope the BFU goal is met and DB can smell the BS he is shoveling.
  6. Thanks for the info, have not listened to the score very much lately.

Angelo was open to the idea of a true #1 wide receiver or he would not have tried to get Boldin. He just could not pull off a deal for a #1 that he liked.
  8. I thought the player (not sure who was in) that the QB waved over at the last minute to the group to the left should have stayed in the backfield and taken off in the huge gap between the players to the far left and the few remaining to rush the kicker/qb or to the right where no one was to be seen for a quick screen pass.
  9. Exactly right, although I thought it was one of the dumbest trick plays I have seen, hell it might have worked if run when originally called. However, after NYG called a time out I was shocked they went ahead and called it again.
  10. I love it, I just noticed Dan Bernstein of the Score 670 donated $6.70 to the cause, LOL. Hey Danny Boy, why not $670?
  11. Noots: You have contacts with quite a few different forums for Bears Fans. Could you possibly promote the site that ConnorBear posted in a thread pinned to this forum to see if we can generate some more donations to this campaign to oust the current powers to be that are causing the Bears to resemble a bad High School team? http://www.bearfansunited.org/
  12. I would hope the web site promoting this effort will be posting additional videos and pictures of the Ad and billboard. I thought I saw a video showing the promotion on local news and other pics as well on the site when I made my small contribution to the effort.
  13. I appreciate the good wishes by everyone. I am sure we are all struggling with the current economic conditions and I certainly did not mean to cry on anyones shoulders. It was really meant tounge in cheek trying to spur other posters to contribute to the fund mentioned in this thread. Rockford's unemployment rate continues to grow. A report from October 2009 shows the unemployment rates of 372 metropolitan areas, rated from the lowest at #1 (Bismark, ND) @ 2.8%. Rockford is rated #361 at 15.7%. Only 10 cities were quoted with a higher unemployment rate. Local news has us now at an estimated 20% in recent article. Thanks to Unemployment Insurance, assistance my daughter is giving me for allowing them to move in with me when they lost their home, and knowing I am a year away from being able to draw Social Security, I hope to be able to make ends meet even if it means taking a part time job or ??? Again, thanks for the good wishes everyone and I pray all of you can hang in there until the economy picks up and recovers. Now if only the Bears can pick up asnd recover as well. Which can we expect to occur first? LOL
  14. If Harris wants him signed maybe he should give some of the contract money he is getting and not earning back to the organization and help pay for his (A.O.'s) new contract:
  15. Ok guys, ante up. I just lost my job. The company I worked for over the past 5+ years just closed their doors on December 18th, a week before Christmas. I am not sure what the hell I am going to do. I just donated 10.00. If I can do that, then please, everyone who can please donate to this effort. Maybe it will cause the ownership to get off their ass and make changes.

Just announced on NFL Network he went to Buffalo Bills.
  17. I will never be embarrassed to be a Bears fan. I may not like what I see on the field. I may be pissed off at the coaching. I may be totally discouraged by the performance of our players. I may even joke with friends about how bad our team is. BUT, I will never be embarrassed to profess my loyalty to the team. I will remain a HUGE fan of the Bears to the day I die, during the good times and the bad.
  18. Oh, but we do, just think how many 6th & 7th round picks we could get for a high 3rd round selection!
  19. I can not blame JA on this one. I was thrilled when we picked up Pace as was just about everyone on this forum was. Unfortunately, the guy just has no gas left in the tank.
  20. Maybe give Shaffer a look at ROT as well, why not? Also, lets get DA some time on the field and maybe Iglasis. We need to see what we have to work with in the future.
  21. If we only lose by 18 it would surprise me. I am expecting another "Cincy, A'zona" type of killing.

I have to believe there will be some house cleaning done. Unfortunately, IMHO, Lovie & Jerry will probably, do to contract commitments, are probably safe for another year. I do believe there could be a big shakeup under them. Possibly a new OC for sure. Turner's contract expires. The fact he is on his last year tells me something. There has been talk as to the possibility of Charlie Weis being released from Notre Dame. He was a kick but OC in the NFL. I would love to see him come on board if available.
  23. Maybe Ditka offers us his entire draft for him, LOL ;-)
  24. I'd love to rip you for being so negative about the Bears chances of winning this game, but unfortunately, I agree.
  25. There is an interesting article on NFL.com about Free Agency in an uncapped year and how it is not going to be lucrative for players and the new rules for FA that are involved. It seems to me it might make it even more difficult to obtain key FAs to rebuild an OL which is what we so desperately need. NFL.com Article on 2010 Free Agency with Uncapped Year
