My Annual Draft Precognition....
Only about 10% of our posters glasses with be overflowing, maybe 30% will view the draft with a half full glass, about 40% of the posters will view the draft with a half empty glass, and the remaining 20% of the posters glasses will be empty as they will throw them through their TV screen, breaking not only their TV but the glass as they curse Angelo and demand his resignation. Angelo will trade down at least twice. Angelo will draft only 1 or 2 players many of us ever heard of or considered in all our drafts. Anyone else want to add their predictions? LOL

The Podium
Sorry for the hold up guys. Actually took off early from work or would not have posted this for another 5 hours. I have checked numerous sites. Needless to say many differed in opinions as to the order of filling needs for CIN but all agreed there are many weakness to draft for, including defense, OL, RB, WR. With the departure of TJH and the erratic behavior of 9 yr vet Ocho' I have to believe the site of a quality WR prospect would be too much to pass on. As much as I would love to see him drop to the Bears, ......... Drum Roll Please......... CIN selects Brian Robiskie WR Ohio State 39. Jacksonville Jaguars - Balta1701 is on yhe clock.

It is nearing time for my teams to select. If the teams I am responsible for (CIN & CLE) go on the clock while I am at work - to speed things up - if someone wants to make the selections for me - feel free to do so. As I said before, I am having to work OT to clean up some medical bills and will not be around as much as I have in the past. I usually do not get back home until 6:45 to 7:15 pm.

The Onion
My lord, you think that was funny?? Personally I thought it was lame, stupid, and uninformed. 1st, Angelo will pick up targets for Cutler that are not currently on the roster. 2nd, it fails to mention targets for Cutler like Forte, Olsen, & Clark. I still think Bennet will show up fine this year. Very very lame IMO.

Last I heard players with knee or leg issues love to play on grass to lessen the stress on their injuries and extend their careers.- Any have Kiper on Cutler Article?
To me this is just showing support for Earl as his new teammate, his old teammate, and friend. How can anyone fret about that? I like that.- Did we trade too much for Jay Cutler?
Ok, we have Cutler. Let's say he played for us the past few seasons and went to the pro bowl last year. If another team offered us a deal identical to what we gave Denver, would you make the trade?- Locking the Bears into a receiver in the 2nd round
Draft dish: Locking the Bears into a receiver in the 2nd round Interesting perspective on WRs that might be available in round 2:- Reactions???
I agree, good post. I am sure his earlier statements were misleading. I am sure Url is a big fan of this move. I heard Cutler say in an interview many Bear Players called him including Hester, Olsen, Bennett, & Urlacher to name a few I remember him saying. It appears the players are as excited as the fans.- Did we trade too much for Jay Cutler?
In a response to an email on ChicagoBears.com Mayer came up with an interesting explanation as to why we got a good deal with the trade for Cutler. 1st, he says, and I can not disagree, that if Cutler were to be put into the draft in 2009 he would be the clear cut, by a landslide, #1 selection of the draft as he is a proven probowl quality NFL QB. By using the dradt selection chart: http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/pick_value_chart.htm the first round selection is worth 3000 points. Our first round pick this year is valued at 900 points. Our 3rd round selection is valued at 170 points. That totals 1070 points. Let's assume we really sucked ass this year if we did not make the move and wound up with pick #10 next year, it would be valued at 1300 points making the package 2370 points plus Orton. If this trade means we draft hopefully 32nd next year they get instead of 2370 a total of 900+170+590=1660 We save a ton of cap room, have a young promising QB who has yet to reach his prime as a QB, one who was tutored by Shanahan, an offensive genius. Sounds like a hell-a-va deal.- Hester wants Holt on the Bears roster
I know it has been quoted that Holt has said he does not have interest in the Bears and therefore it seems highly unlikely we would land him but who ever thought we would sign Cutler?- What would it take to get Braylon?
Agree- Watching NFL Network Replay
Seeing the way he is using TE Sheffler and dreaming on what kind of season Greg Olsen will have in 2009- The Podium
OK, just got home from work, after scouting a half dozen draft sites for ideas, the consensus is: 5. Cleveland Browns - Pixote - Brian Orakpo, OLB, Texas 6. Cincinnati Bengals - Pixote - B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College 7. Oakland Raiders - The Prophet On the clock- WRs Still Available
I have no doubt in my mind that the WR position will be addressed by JA in FA & the draft. I am anxiously awaiting the next signing. He would not bring in a QB like Cutler, investing this much, without giving him some targets to work with.- Interesting tidbit from SunTimes
According to the SunTimes there was an enormous interest in Cutler and you have to give credit to JA for pulling off what could be the biggest trade in decades......- Hey NFO!

LOL, I suspect Denver will trade up in the draft to get their new Franchise QB prospect. Denver will never go into the season with Orton & Simms as their QBs of the future.- Great, no 1st round pick for OL now!
LOL, I just bookmarked this post, for future reference!- BEARS GET CUTLER! - Official
Hey, lets not get too excited, he still has to beat out C Hanie in preseason to be our starter.- What would you give up for Cutler?
It seems like our desire for a franchise QB has intoxicated us to the point of making irrational decisions, IMO. I like Cutler and would love to see him a Bears. I do not want to give nearly as much as many of you. I can understand a first this year, but if we gave up a top D player with the 1st rounder, that is all I would give. I prefer this year's 1st and a conditional pick next year. I am not totally sold on the kid. He tosses way too many INTs and seems to be irratic in his decision making. My guess is another team will give up the "house" for him.- TalkBears Mock Draft 2009
I take the Browns & Bengals- How about Matt "Moonshine" Jones?
Personally, I would love the move. I just feel the front office is reluctant, as many front offices are, unwilling to gamble on off-the-field problems. You are right, I fell it would be a huge upgrade to our WRs with a young talented guy and would free us up to go after the BPA in the draft. - Holts the Guy
