I honestly do not see MIN beating ATL or NYG as long as both teams give 100% and do not sit starters. I am concerned about the Bears two games. We should be able to win the next 2. SHOULD being the key word. Baring any brain farts by our beloved's coaching staff or any key injuries, there is no reason why we can not beat GBP & HOU. If we do that and MIN chokes, we will have good momentum going into the playoffs. Does anyone actually think MIN is all that good? T Jackson? No Pat Williams? Now they will be vulnerable against the run as well as the pass. Atlanta shouldlight them up and the Giants defense is way too good for them to win the closer.

I'm going to bring it up once again. Ocho Cinco?

The sad part is Lloyd is probably our best WR. Olsen, Clark, & Forte are better receivers but of our WRs who has been better than Lloyd? Hester is improving but I am not sure he is better than Lloyd at this point. Booker has been a huge disappointment. R Davis had all the hype in preseason and has dropped way too many passes. Bennett is being hidden in the dog house? Now I ask, who is worth keeping? We need a legitimate #1 & #2 IMO as I see no one on our roster at this point at WR who would be anymore than a #3 on any other team. -
I couldn't agree more. I think Vasher was trying to play while not 100% and his performance suffered because of it. I normally like Vasher a lot but Graham has definitely improved our secondary over what it was with an injured Vasher. Anthony Adams has been impressive against the run. I would like to see him substituted for on 3rd and long with Idonoje who is very effective getting pressure on the QB in pass situations from the inside. Great Job Noots!

I have to agree with his comments also. 10 wins for this team would be huge considering all the prognosticators suggesting we would be last in our division and would be lucky to win 6 or 7 games. Take away a few brain farts by our coaching staff (ie the games with ATL & TBB come to mind) and we would be trying to win out for 12 wins and a first round bye.

Ok, if you want a conspiracy theory let me throw this at you. As much as we dislike the Packers and relish every victory we have against them, in talking to friends and coworkers who are Packer fans, although the Packers are rivals of the Bears, they dislike the Vikes even more than the Bears. Therefore maybe they would prefer to screw the Vikes than the Bears? LOL Doesn't matter, we are going to win, take it to the bank!

The picksheet for Week 16 is Ready! Remember - Thursday & Saturday early games alert! Good luck with your picks! http://www.talkbears.com/Contests/index.htm

Congratulations guys, great job!! I came in dead last, ;-(

Week 16 features games on Thursday night (Indianapolis at Jacksonville) and Saturday night (Baltimore at Dallas). We all know the drill by now for early Thursday night games and this is really no different. Just keep in mind that there are two early games this week (if you chose to make selections for those 2 games) and then the remainder of the slate of games for Sunday & Monday.

Pittsburgh's defense is playing awesome football right now. I would not be at all surprised to see them in the SB. Their offense is not scaring anyone but with a defense like theirs they do not need to score many points. 2 of the better games I have seen on TV this year are the 2 games between the Steelers & Ravens, both of which Pittsburgh pulled out at the end of the games.

I agree, we should have brought in some WR talent. Our defense is solid with the personel we have. Some backup depth here and there may be needed but if the guys we have play to their potential, they are a solid bunch capable of being a top 10 defense. The problem is not the personel but the coaching, IMO. I think Orton has developed far more this year than I ever expected considering he has no quality receivers to work with except our TEs and at times has had problems with protection. I like his backup in Caleb H. I would like to see a 4th or 5th rounder drafted to develop at #3. Our main concerns this offseason (besides a possible change in some coaching positions?) is OL and WR. The way I see it is we are 2 quality WRs and 2 quality OLmen away from having a top 10 offense. (and of course an OC who know what the heck he is doing)

It is disappointing that Arizona mailed in a lousy effort against the Vikings. I am still caustiously optimistic that the Bears will have a chance to win the NFCN. Atlanta is playing good Football right now and has plenty to play for. The Giants are still trying to lock up home field advantage throughout the entire playoffs. Both of these teams are more than capable of beating the Vikings. So if the Vikings lose the remaining 2 games on their schedule, we must win against GBP at home and then the Texans on the road. Not an easy task but I would aruge an easier schedule than what the Vikings have to face. Oddly enough, despite the results of the last game we had with GBP, I am more concerned with the game against Houston on the road then next Monday's game against the Packers. Does any of this matter? I think so. Many on the forum say we would not deserve to make the playoffs. I ask why not? If we wind up the season 10-6 (with 3 of those loses I would suggest bordered on criminal neglegence on the part of the coaching staff) I certainly think the players on this team deserve to see what they can do in the playoffs and might just surprise everyone. Tell me, does anyone see a team out there that is unbeatable?

I do not think it is so much that the majority of the guys on the forum do not want the baggage. The fact of the matter is the only team Owens will be happy on and therefore not cause major problems is a team that is a "pass first" team and one with an excellent QB that can utilize the skills of a deap threat like TO. We are not that team. He would never agree to a trade to us in the first place. Therefore the question is somewhat mute IMHO.

After viewing the blog and the "attempt" at humor, I would suggest that if Kyle Orton views this it might just bring a defamation of character law suit against the author as well as the blog administration/owner.

My oh My I am in love again. I just saw G Sayers on NFL Total Access.......... Alright, get your mind out of the gutter......... I love the coat he is wearing. I do not think I have seen the Bears coat he is wearing before. I have seen similar ones, of course, but not the exact version he is wearing. Does anyone know where it might be available for purchase (assuming you saw Sayers on the show before the game tonight)? I am too lazy to go surfing the net.

Congratulations to flea for taking first place and to Gakman23 for a close second! Great job guys!

I agree, and although we might not be able to get a #1 in FA, we can still upgrade over the crap we currently are fielding at WR. With good TEs & a kick butt RB we can still be effective on Offense if we can upgrade our OL and address holes in our D.
-
Damn, if he is a RFA forget it, he is good enough to get the franchise tag. He has become Brees' favorite WR target and like I said before NOS would be friggin' idiots to let him walk.
-
I went to a KFFL article to check out the 2009 FA Class Article and found some interesting names on the list. In regards to free agent WRs that might be available (some may have already signed extensions since this article was put up or may sign before the FA period begins): TJH from CIN I think is a true #1 WR who could start as a #1 on any team in the NFL. However, I am sure he will be well sought after and very expensive. I wonder if the Bears would persue him? Bobby Engram is obviously near the end of his career but is still a great possession WR on 3rd down situations. J. Gaffney I think is the sleeper of the bunch. He is buried behind Wes Walker and R Moss so does not get many looks but from what I have seen is an excellent WR. Lance Moore is a kick butt WR with speed but I can not believe NOS would be foolish enough to let him walk. The above 4 are all listed as UFAs and any would be an upgrade for our WR group. Of course there are going to disgruntled WRs who want to be traded but I can not see JA trading away 1st day draft picks for a WR. I just do not think he would take the plunge.

PC had hiccups this morning, LOL. I deleted the multiple copies for you. Take care

Qestion for the board. I have not been following college football this year or the upcoming draft. Who is the Big prospect at FB coming out this year and what round would he projected in? I want to see the Bears upgrade at this position either in FA or the draft but would not consider it a position I would want to burn a high pick on, maybe 4th or 5th round at the earliest, but would prefer a proven FA (will any be available in FA?).
-
I agree, the big hits in the draft usually come in the first 3 rounds. If we can pick up an additional 3rd rounder we can get a quality "prospect" to fill a hole. It would be great if we can get such a compensation pick. Guess I will be pulling for Berrian to rack up some stats the remaining part of the season, LOL.
-
LOL, you beat me to it. After reading the post you responded to I was going to say the same thing. He is hardly in a position to be considered an injury risk type of player. I expect big things from Williams next year.
-
Until I see our OL become dominating I want to see OLmen drafted day one, especially in the first round. I would like to see another OT in round one this year, and WR & OG addressed in rounds 2 & 3. If we add another 3rd rounder via compensation for Berrian, a BIG IF, then best player available coupled with need.
