The lack of coverage on the first punt - coaching When your running game is on FIRE and you still cant put up more than 3 points. - coaching When they are blitzing your young QB hard and rather than leaving in TEs to protect him, you ask him to find hot reads among 5 players? - coaching When some leaves in some TEs for a couple plays and suddenly the passing game looks good, but then you never go back to it again - coaching When the defense quits and wont sell out their body because the offense cant score points or hold the ball - coaching. When ANOTHER of your players takes a swing at an opposing player AGAIN - coaching. Show me one thing Nagy does that helps this team. Tell me why he would be better than a bar of soap. Pace doesnt have the guts to shoot his babies when they go bad. And that's the essence of his job. So he goes down with the ship. Fine. His choice. He will be remembered as nice and loyal. There will be no Super Bowls for him. He had no business being GM if he couldnt do the hard work of handling or firing Nagy. He was a pussy. Didnt want people to be mad at him. Fine. Then you get fired. Unless the next level up has the same problem... Grrr.

if you're looking to keep the current coaches but lose Nagy, then Pettine would be the logical choice for head coach. No one has to leave their current positions, and you get a guy who has done it before.

No I get it - you dont want to blow up something that's working. But I think we will see a difference between Fields' improvement, and rhythm and gameplanning. I dont think we are going to win 11 games this season. If we do, I'm open to looking at how that happened of course. But if we are 9-8 and Fields is doing it on broken plays, while the regular offense is out of sync, then Nagy HAS to go. Put it this way - Fields is not Nagy, so if Fields himself is growing, that's not a reason to keep Nagy. Nagy has to show something on his own too.

well said. what has Nagy ever done? show me the bright spot? I understand why Pace took a risk on him. But now we know who he is. He should have been fired in the middle of last year. And to those who might disagree. Nagy doesnt have to be the worst coach that ever lived to deserve to be fired. It is just clear he is not bringing any large advantage to the table, and THAT is the job of a head coach. If you're just mediocre, and that's OK, that's like saying your goal is 9-8 and possibly a wild card round loss. That is no goal.

and had success doing it! Nagy did NOT have success calling plays in KC, his biggest criticisms? Not getting into a rhythm, and abandoning the run game - cost them an early playoff exit, and they won the superbowl the next year.

I dont blame Pace for taking a shot on Nagy. There are two ways to get a winning coach: You either get a guy who has won before, but has been fired for some reason, or you take a shot on an up and coming coordinator, and hope he becomes a great head coach. Taking a shot on Nagy was SMART. It was a good bet. But now we know it didnt pay off. Doubling down when you've already lost a bet is dumb. They should have fired him in the middle of last season.

It's hard to say. Rodgers didn't even need any competitive sparks to win. If he'd been down 5 with 2 minutes to go, do you doubt he would have dug deeper and tried to win? I think the fact that Rodgers only needs 195 yards to beat us is the more compelling way to look at this. We showed some flashes, but we are far from putting together a complete game, win or lose.

News flash - everyone is human. If you keep cancelling everyone for being human, then we are ALL under fire. And that is what this is about. Creating the conditions to blackmail everyone. No one will feel comfortable to criticize anything that might happen when they know they have something in an email they shouldnt have said - and that's EVERYONE. It's disgusting, and much more offensive than any private comments he made. Intention is everything. Hateful people could say good morning in a way that sucks, and people who arent hateful should be able to speak freely without being cancelled. But everyone is scared. For now anyway.

I think Nagy was part of the playcalling today. At times it lacked rhythm. I think Nagy thinks being un predictable on offense is the way to call plays, but i dont agree. i think you want to be somewhat predictable, so that you can calls plays off of those expectations to set up play action, draws, screens etc. Defenses want to be unpredictable. Offenses should want to be effective, even when you know the run up the gut is coming, and tricky in calling plays off of that rhtyhm, but not simply unpredictable. We won, but it didnt look great.

Looking at the tape from AZ link above (its the bottom one) we got a steal. He is fast as hell. Helps our return game, and makes Herbert a full time RB with monty out. You can probably run a few plays like you'll run with Cohen with him too.
