Nut being a standup guy
He should be moved to FS. At the same time, someone needs to kick Vasher in the arse. He needs to earn the money he is being payed starting next yr. Vasher and Graham at starting corrner next yr with Bowman and McBride as the backups (draft a corner as well). Peace

2009 Draft Scenarios
1 - Agree that Bennett should be getting offensive reps. Please don't ever mention 'Stone Hands' again. 2 - I like Davis but not as a #3. He is a #4 or #5 five - a receiver who can fill in when necessary and is a very good special teams player. I believe he signed a 3 yr deal for approximately 5 million which reflects that. However, with Booker and Lloyd being out for portions of the yr he has been getting alot more reps on offense than he should. Those reps should be going to Bennett. Peace

Nut being a standup guy
I think BearSox said he was a top 15 corner but he didn't say top corner in the league. I said he was an above average corner who could be an all pro free safety. Someone else said he was good at shutting down big receivers but had issues with speed receivers. I think we need to take a step back. Nut is a good football player. He plays his arse off for this team. He is playing with injuries to both shoulders. Hampton said last week that the int he made in St Louis was one of the best he has seen by a Bear player in yrs. Is he is all pro cornerback - no. Does he has deficiencies - yes. But I will take him over 80% of the other CBs in the league today. If I was starting a football team, I would want him on it. Of course, I would have him at FS. Peace

Smith Needs To Go
I agree with NFO here. 90% of the ownership in the league is not going to dump a coach with 3 yrs 15 million left on their contract. The only 2 teams I can think that would consider doing that are Washington and Dallas. Peace

Berrian compensation
I would be extremely happy if this is the case. Peace

Nut being a standup guy
Never said he was a top notch shut down corner. I said he was an above average corner. I live in the real world - no fantasy here. Peace
-
Berrian compensation
I think the situation your referring to had to do with RFAs (Holdman and Bates). No checkbox required in this situation. Peace

Nut being a standup guy
Tillman is an above average corner. He could be an all pro free safety (both Lucky Luciano and I agree on this). With 20 career interceptions and 12 forced fumbles after 5.5 yrs with the team, he will finish in the top 5 for the Bears if he plays out his contract. He has been outstanding at forcing turnovers which is what this scheme asks him to do. I think he would be even better as a safety IMHO. Peace

New DE
Oh boy. We are off to the races now!!!!! Peace
-
Berrian compensation
My thought is it will be a 3rd to a 5th rounder. Would also be nice if we can get a 7th rounder for Brendan. Peace

Oline is pathetic.
Hey, that's what I was going to say!!!! Remember Barry Sanders? He was notorious for that. He would have 8 or 9 runs of 2 yds or less then rip off a 50 yd run. That's how it works much of the time. Peace

Hats off to the Queens
Hey, I'm not quiting on them either. However, the way they are playing right now, they will not make the playoffs. Things must turn around in a big, big hurry. Peace

Oline is pathetic.
Numbnuts? I thought that was a medical condition. Better see a doctor about that. Peace

Games at Green Bay and Minny
True. They were talking about that this morning on the radio. I forgot how much of a hard arse Coughlin is. Giants will definately make it a game. I still don't see how we make it unless we win the next 4. Peace

Hats off to the Queens
I'm sorry but I cannot compare Lovie to Wanny or Jauron. Wanny won 1 playoff game and always got his arse kicked by the Pack. Jauron didn't win in the playoffs. Lovie has issues and should be replaced if he can't fix it, but he was a much better coach than both those 2 knuckleheads. Peace

2009 Draft Scenarios
So, you're assuming we don't win any more games this yr. Please don't be so positive. Peace

Bad draft picks by Angelo
Of course he's writing off these players already. We all know a draft is only good if the player performs in the first yr. Personally, I think Williams is the key to this draft. He needs to start next yr. Peace

Noots' Notes Game 12: 34-14 Loss at MIN
Noots - each week I look forward to your analysis. Thanks for the effort. Peace

Bad draft picks by Angelo
I wouldn't be against trading my players for picks. I would only trade for a player if I felt they were one of the final pieces to the puzzle. Bouldin is extremely tempting but I would have to hold for now given the needs we currently have. Peace

Bad draft picks by Angelo
We'll agree to disagree. Not looking to get into a long drawn out arguement. BTW - If I was the owner of a franchise, I wouldn't get involved in the day to day activities of the team. That's for my GM. However, if I was a GM I would avoid trading for another player unless I felt I was a player away from winning it all. In the NFL, you need your draft picks. Trades for players, in general, do not work out. Peace

Bad draft picks by Angelo
Tillman is an above average corner who would be a great FS. I agree he should be moved to FS. Hester is not bad or unknown. He was a once in a lifetime returner who the staff has screwed up. Vasher is a bad pick? He is playing bad this yr but his first 3 yrs he was a very, very good player. Payne needs to play SS. He excelled in that role at the beginning of the yr. He is not a FS. Peace
-
Dvoracek done?
Until he actually plays for more than a quarter before coming down with a season ending injury, he's a bust. He played 11 games this yr so you must think he is not a bust then. Peace
-
The epitome of mediocrity
Great post - I couldnt agree with you more. Peace

Hats off to the Queens
They beat our arse in the most important game of the year. They deserve to go to the playoffs and we do not. The last 2 losses on the road are a direct reflection on our coaching staff. If they cannot turn this around and get the team to 9-7 or better then they should go. This has nothing to do with the 'fire and the passion' but instead the fact they are being out coached repeatedly. I know they will be here for 1 more yr but that doesn't excuse the mess they have created. Peace

Bad draft picks by Angelo
Per Pix's suggestion, JA's top ten draft picks (in no particular order): - Briggs - Tillman - Vasher - Alex Brown - Tommie Harris - Olsen - Forte - Hester - Berrian - Graham Others for consideration: - Orton - Columbo - Chris Harris - Adrian Peterson (considering round drafted) - Harrison - Payne - Gage - Gould (he was undrafted but should be considered) Peace
